Title: Super Smash Bros Survivor
Post by: D_Average on October 22, 2008, 06:01:56 PM
I'm probably late to the party on this one, but did anyone notice Ken from this season's Surivor is the current World Champion at Smash Bros Melee?  I'm not a big fan of the show but my wife makes me watch it and I noticed it listed "Professional Gamer" as his occupation.  I was curious what game he excels at, and low and behold its Smash Bros.

Here's an excerpt:

Ken Hoang gives a new meaning to the term "gamer." Known to the gaming community as "the King of Smash," Hoang is a professional at his craft. As the current international champion of Nintendo's Super Smash Brothers Melee video game, Ken has traveled the world from Japan to Australia to prove his dominance.

Hoang uses his tournament winnings to help support his family. He and his siblings still live at home to help pay the mortgage. It has also led to a strong bond among his brothers and sisters. In fact it was his sister that started his addiction to SURVIVO
R.

Maybe someday I'll achieve such glory through my mastery of "Kart".

Yeah we saw this a while back. Must be nice to get really good at a game, and it supports you in life. Not that I'm wishing for that.

I wonder how good he is in Brawl. There are some major differences now a'days.

Man I wish our brawl boards were a bit more livelier.

I only know two people who don't use the Cube controller for Brawl.

I consider neither of them gamers.

That just mean he's done long stints in jail. Has nothing to do with Gaming.

With the springs removed from the L/R buttons. Hard core.

All hail the creator of the Ken combo.
