I want to subscribe to a gaming magazine, but not sure which one. I usually read Tips and Tricks because I love the section about upcoming games, and the mass codes. I was thinking Nintendo Power since it would be pretty usefull, but I hear good and bad things. What do you think about Nintendo Power?

nintendo power is way too biased in their reviews. stay away from them. i like EGM personally, or if you have a way of getting there, go to EB and subscribe to GMR for 10 bucks. it is a great deal and you get an issue of it just for subscribing. it also gets great deals when you buy used games and trade in value goes up on games. what usually gets you 5 dollars at EB will get you 15 dollars with a subscription to GMR. but overall, i still like EGM more.

i concur. Electronic Gaming Monthly is the best console gaming magazine out there. The staff have brains, a good sense of humour, and excellent writing and grammar skills.

i currently subscribe to NIntendo Power.  mainly because there might be demo disks included.  plus, when you subscribe or renew, you get a free players guide.  but i totally agree with the reveiw thing.  i'm probably going to subscribe to GMR.  it's onlt ten bucks, plus, special used and trade in offers?  that=good.

Personally, I like Nintendo Power the best.  Their reviews aren't worth much, but the rest of the mag is great.  Great writing, and lots of content.

Years of reading magazines and having internet/web access has made me jaded to the point that i hardly touch mags anymore. When i do, it's usuall Play. Excellent layout, great writing, yadda yadda. Their mags isn't quite as packed as EGM with gaming bits, but the content that's there is worth checking out and the humor isn't stale.

It really depends on what you're looking for. Tips and Tricks is specializes in it's namesake, so there's not much comparison there. i think EGM is the best of the multiplatform mags; GMR (i still don't know what "GMR" stands for) fall a bit behind mainly because of less content, which they like to fill up with special features (aka the "More" section). Of course, if you're into buying used games from EB it's pretty much a no-brainer (same goes for Game Informer at Gamestop).

Can't comment on Nintendo Power or others as i haven't touched one in months, though i just might the next time they offer a good deal. Free discs are good.

I've been a subscriber of NP (Nintendo Power) for over 13 years... and I can't really complain about the mag, except for the fact that it currently doesn't give away demo CDs each month.
EGM is a great multi-platform magazine -- you really get the bang for your buck with them.
I was also a subscriber to PC Gamer because I'm as much of a PC buff as I am a console gamer -- if you are big on PC games this mag is perfect; I don't know what's better, the honest-to-goodness reviews that they provide or the editorials or the picture-bloated (and informative) preview sections...
Gaming is more than entertainment, it's a lifestyle.

Nintendo Power is all about the free stuff! (ooo err, and not much else, I don't think - January issues are the bomb, though)

Also, you can get Billy Informer, 10 issues for 10 bux, through a Software Etc deal.

i got game informer subscription from gamespot for 10 bucks, its been a year and a half since i started subscribing to them, and it only took half that time before it was my favorite mag...
i love their classic section as well
i still read other mags when i goto the store like egm, gamenow, and psm, playstation official mag, etc...
but the only one remotely as good as GI is egm, when it comes down to GI vrs Egm...it all depends on what
you prefer in a mag
