It's perfectly natural to experience the world (and interactive video games) differently at a later point in your life. I don't remember the dialogue being that impressive in the first title so fair enough in that regard. I was only a teenager when first playing through Advance Wars on the gba and it was fun and addictive then.

Over the past 17 years I never even got past level 3 haha.

Fortunately, the cube version gave me unlimited continues.  I do hope they include a 2x slower practice mode (or even better a 2x, 3x, and 1.5x). They inexplicably removed this extremely helpful training tool from future ports/versions.

it's still such bull**** why they didn't release this at launch in the US; they knew people would buy a 2nd controller and yet they just didn't care

You could put that on there if you really wanted to but it's not necessary.

You are right, it was beyond special. It was amazing, addictive and loads of fun while wrapped in a lengthy RPG serving to keep you busy for at least a month.

If Namco does, trying not to get too excited about this, announce a new Tales game and it lives up to Symphonia, then that's it. The system doesn't need anymore, as it's already perfect to me with just what has been announced and everything else is just gravy to make it even more awesome.

They already did that with Tales of Abyss (PS2 only, unfortunately); I'm sure they can surpass that too as long as the right team is making the game.

Well, it was originally going to be a GBA game so I think that explains enough.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Super Smash Bros. Brawl
« on: May 10, 2006, 05:31:49 PM »
"During E3 Last year, Miyamoto approached Masahiro Sakurai, the series creator and now independent developer, insisting that he make a new Smash Bros. To make it happen, Nintendo put together a team to assist Sakurai. The result is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, one of the first Wii titles to avoid motion-controlled attacks.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl be fully compatible with the GameCube controller. Sakurai's reasoning is simple. He doesn't want to alienate gamers that prefer the traditional gamepad.

The game will feature online multiplayer.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl will not be a launch title. Sakurai has confirmed a 2007 release."

From my experience of playing with Logitech's PS2 controller, it doesn't have to be uncomfortable when the stick is in that position; as for the other one, I'd say it leaves it open to more potential...but I'd also say it gives it a better sense of harmony and symmetry that we all know and love.

Because it's mostly for RETRO games, not just 64 games. The d-pad by far will be used the most and I should hope the stick will still present a comfortable state of being.

From what I've read in other places, it's quite possible (more so than not) that this is actually a PS2 screen shot.

It's probably the 1st significant graphical improvement in many years for the series (the character model and animation in particular as seen in the video).

Sounds lame as hell.  These games were made for digital input and using gestures is going to be g!mmicky and clunky.  Hopefully that's just an option and we can play them the way they were meant to be played as well.  Though I think it would probably be more worth SNK's while to have Neo-Geo games for the download service.  It seems kind of odd to go with ports instead.

Still it's good to see SNK supporting a Nintendo console.  The last time they did that to my recollection was on the Super Nintendo.

So you're saying you already know standard controls aren't included? I doubt that very much.

I also would love a return of those Top Down racers, where the entire track is in view as a party game.  The Wiimote could be used to stir and that would be brilliant fun with four players.
extreme g wii

It could be even faster paced because of the instinctive controls.

XG3 was nearly uncontrollable at his highest speed levels and XGRA simply wasn't fast nor balanced enough. Hopefully, a new and definitive XG will come out for this system so that there's something beside F-Zero standing at the top.

Yeah, you have to purchase two games for your reserved system at GameCrazy but that's not bad at all.
