TalkBack / Aonuma Confirms Wind Waker Sequel
« on: May 25, 2003, 03:16:12 PM »
Hooray! While The Wind Waker had a nice ending, it didn't answer some stuff, (I don't wanna give any spoilers.) so a sequel was almost inevitable. Of course, Majora's Mask had little/nothing to do with Ocarina of Time. I hope it's not the same with Wind Waker. Basically I'm saying, a continuation would be a good idea (Least for me)before going off in a new direction.

Yay! It looks so good! *Does his happy dance

I know it's a pretty dumb gripe, but I just wanna see how long 'till I bust out of the house and grab my copy. It's not the timer itself, but the timer's presence that gives me some sort of cleansing and happiness. Mmm... Gifs...

I would like both, but I kind of prefer Ghost. It just seems to have more stuff in it. Like lots of crazy details i.e. Sniping upside-down from ladders (OOh, that's so cool!). And it's set in the StarCraft Universe. Which one do you want more?

As a serious game machine, I'd have to say my computer. Sure, I use it for internet and stuff, but the Computer's games market is too fast-paced for me, with new great new games coming out and then finding them in a bargain bin 2-3 months later. And with all this upgrades, it's sort of uncool when you shell out  a wad of cash for some nice new computer and then it gets outdated in a year or so. I really prefer console systems because they have a pre-determined controller, Don't get outdated as quickly, and you don't have to worry about system differences online or with some new game because the console is exactly the same from the next one. Of course, that's just my humble old opinion.

Nintendo Gaming / EGM rate Zelda!!!
« on: March 07, 2003, 01:07:17 PM »
What I don't like about this whole conversation is the fact that everyone's so upset about one person in one magazine's opinion. You know the game will rock, or at least hope it will, so why are you so upset? I have three ideas why: 1, You think that the review will turn some people off because it's not perfect. Well, too bad. You don't realize how unlikely that is, since most people who want the game have pre-ordered it. If not for WW, at least for OoT/MQ. Then there's 2, the rating has affected your judgement of the game, and you fear that it won't be as great as you thought it will. I can't really offer any encouraging advice, but you'll find out how good it is once you pop it into your GC. Finally 3, you think that fanboys of other consoles will have more stuff to bash GC with. Face it, the only people who really listen to fanboys are other fanboys. Don't sweat the small stuff man, and it won't sweat you. Okay, nevermind about that.

BTW, EGM ain't the best thing you can get. I'd check out a little hole in the wall named planetgamecube.com

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda StoryLine Possibility... (spoilers, maybe...)
« on: March 06, 2003, 04:56:22 PM »
You guys know how Wind Waker is 100 years after OoT? Well, most of you know how Link gets a boat in WW. And in Link's Awakening, Link is on a boat when he gets shipwrecked and loses his memory. Well, MAYBE, The Wind Waker Link is the same Link as Link in  LA/Zelda DX. Hey, it works out, doesn't it? Unless I'm forgetting something...

Nintendo Gaming / Golden Skulltulas
« on: March 06, 2003, 04:31:14 PM »
If you want a Skulltulla guide, and other secrets, you can go to www.zelda.com/ocarina . It's a very handy site for some of the longer tasks. and Secrets

BTW, Ganondorf looks constipated or something in the Space World Demo. It seemed very unnatural, kinda like the awkward turning in RE.

While not many people here complain about the cel-shaded Zelda, I think that "realism" isn't what Zelda is all about. I much prefer games like RE, Metroid, or MGS to have a "realistic look" to them then say Mario or Zelda. The main point is old-school, and characters. When these games were released, the characters were super-deformed to match up with the pixels of those days. That's the reason Mario wears a hat, overalls, and a 'stache. If Mario was changed to fit a "realistic" look, then it wouldn't feel like Mario. The same with Zelda. Link needs to be friendly and fun, not scary and macho tough-guy. If the "realistic look" was to be in a Zelda game, I think they'd have to remove "Young Link" from the picture, like the remove "Adult Link" from Wind Waker. Perhaps the as of yet maybe "realistic" Zelda will be a sort-of follow-up to Wind Waker, changing styles to suit the story and gameplay. Who knows, only Nintendo and time can tell.

Nintendo Gaming / Would "GC2" be backwards compatible with the GC?
« on: March 06, 2003, 03:35:43 PM »
Like the Playstation. Nintendo sure doesn't seem like it'll relinquish control over *ahem,  "the mini-disc console market". Just a thought. One of the main reasons the PS2 hit off so well was next-gen, and the other was backwards compatibility. It seems kinda like Nintendo is trying to get the foothold that Sony got with the PS2's debut by releasing it's "GC2" before the competition. What better way to help solidify the release then being able to pop in MP/ED/WW from the get-go without having to go buy a bunch of new games?

NWR Feedback / What Happened to (G?)(D?)oombas?
« on: March 06, 2003, 03:25:25 PM »
Just wondering. Where else are we gonna find some Penny-Arcade beating low-grade Nintendo humor? It must has been several months at the very least. Where is it? WHERE? If not (D?)(G?)oombas, have some PGC comic become ressurected from it's burnt ashes. Hey, you could even post PGC user-made things or something if you're too lazy to make more on your own.

Nintendo Gaming / Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Playable Demo
« on: March 05, 2003, 04:57:53 PM »
Is it just me, or am I the only one to realize that the demo's more then A YEAR OLD. I swear, it's the same one they showed at E3, Cube Club, now, and everything else in between that. I know that Nintendo doesn't want to ruin to much of it, but I wouldn't get too excited about the demo unless you've never touched the controller when WW's in the slot. I'm not complaining, and I shouldn't be too upset about it I guess. Just kind of funny how dated it is...

Nintendo Gaming / How are Zelda: WW's NPC's like?
« on: March 05, 2003, 04:45:42 PM »
They're a lot more active then Ocarina of Time. People will actually run around, looking at stuff. Sort of like the Carpenters or the Bunny Hood Guy. It's not death-defying and amazing like the Guards in MGS2, or the Creatures in MP, but the characters do seem to have lives of their own. Kinda like Animal Crossing... Yeah, that's it.

TalkBack / ATI and Nintendo Further Their Partnership
« on: March 04, 2003, 01:59:18 PM »
*Gives a little woo-hoo.
Hooray for ATI. I personally like all their products, since they're not only easier to afford, but they don't shirk away from quality. Good stuff. I say, if they pull off a stunt just as impressive as the Gamecube, then by all means bring on "GC2"! Hopefully. Of course, instead of making the GC successor, Nintendo might be making a "GC upgrade" of sorts, somewhat like the DD64. Pretty unlikely, but it might happen

TalkBack / Metal Gear Solid on GameCube - CONFIRMED
« on: March 02, 2003, 04:57:43 PM »
First Capcom, then Square, now Konami. Wow, Nintendo's rounding up all it's buddies from the SNES back together under the Plumber's flag.

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda: OoT:Master Quest Help Thread
« on: March 02, 2003, 04:52:21 PM »
To get free Lon Lon Milk, try playing Epona's Song in front of the cows at Lon Lon Ranch. I figured that out on accident when I wondered what the cows were there for. Dumb luck, I guess. BTW, those cows in Jabu-Jabu's Belly gave me the willies. At first I thought I was playing Earthworm Jim or something. wooh...

Nintendo Gaming / Any news on the Legend of Zelda movie?
« on: February 28, 2003, 04:37:21 PM »
What's so bad a bout 4Kids? At least they kept Pokemon true to it's roots. Nothing like some other Video Game turned movies where the only thing the people have in common is the same name (i.e. Final Fantasy: Spirits Within).

TalkBack / Metal Gear Solid on GameCube - CONFIRMED
« on: February 28, 2003, 04:26:30 PM »
The way I see it, it's probably gonna be Substance. Mainly because Xbox and PS2 have it, and Substance is basically the Director's Cut of MGS2. Not a bad thing, really.

Nintendo Gaming / The Wind Waker to recieve "unprecedented" score from EGM.
« on: February 27, 2003, 01:23:42 PM »
Instead of acting all paranoid about this, maybe they think that Wind Waker is one great game. It might place the scores like CGM (Computer Gaming Magazine) does and place reviews on a scale of 1-100, or something of that caliber. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. It's not much to get in a hissy fit over, is there? What EGM gives it is what EGM gives it. But a rating doesn't change how fun a game is, unless the rating lowers your expectations or something. EGM has Ocarina of Time fresh on their minds, and Wind Waker is/will be just as mind-blowing and fresh as OoT was five years ago.

Nintendo Gaming / Any news on the Legend of Zelda movie?
« on: February 27, 2003, 01:16:27 PM »
I heard it was going to be animated, and by the same people who did the Pokemon movies. I think that it should be good, because the Pokemon Movies were very true to it's gaming roots and were even enjoyable despite pleas of "Pokemon sux0rz". Does anyone have any info. on the story? Even if it was just Ocarina of Time or something translated onto the Silver Screen, that'd be pretty cool.

BTW, have any of you guys seen Spirited Away? If the animation in the LoZ Movie was on par with that, I'd be a happier man.

Pitiful Bantering ended.

Nintendo Gaming / favorite Zelda game quotes, anyone?
« on: February 27, 2003, 01:09:07 PM »
In Ocarina of Time, I thought it was funny in Jabu-Jabu's Belly, where Princess Ruto gets the jewel and then it says something like: "Princess Ruto has just recieved the jewel. Wait, Why does Princess Ruto get it?". It was so unexpected, I just had to give a bit of a guffaw.

TalkBack / Driver Goes to the Movies
« on: February 27, 2003, 01:06:15 PM »
Woah! I'm the first one to reply...
Driver Movie, huh? Sounds enticing. I'm expecting something like Kingpin, or the Sopranos.

TalkBack / Network Play in Pikmin 2?
« on: February 26, 2003, 02:03:11 PM »
Oh, I know what x5 might be for! Instead of having to walk up to an Onion to take out more Pikmin, you can just press up and when you walk back you can find more of your little pretties there to help in world domination! It's a theory, anyway...

TalkBack / Network Play in Pikmin 2?
« on: February 26, 2003, 01:57:21 PM »
I like the new look, gives it a kind of Mario Bros. appeal to it, with the short fat guy and the tall skinny guy. This is so cool! If it was just the original Pikmin implemented with a multi-player, I'd still buy it! So happy, so happy! Excuse me for a moment... *Gets out his Pikmin pajamas and does his little Capt. O dance...
