Shaymin:
Get a month of WWE Network or an old Pokémon game? Tough call here.http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/rumor/41524/rumor-pokemon-gb-virtual-console-games-to-be-999Amazon has listed preorders on their digital store for next February's anniversary re-release of the Generation I Pokémon games, and it appears adding wireless function may cost more than was initially thought. The retailer is listing each version of the Game Boy titles at a $9.99 MSRP with the February 27 delivery date. Standard Game Boy (Red and Blue versions) pricing for the Virtual Console is $2.99 or $3.99, while Game Boy Color titles like the Yellow (Pikachu) edition is $5.99-$6.99.Special titles have occasionally been priced at $2 above standard Virtual Console rates, as is the case with Earthbound Beginnings and Earthbound. However, it may simply be a placeholder price while the pricing details are worked out with Nintendo. We will continue to monitor the situation.

Mop it up:
I actually expected these games to carry a premium price, so if this is true then it is of no surprise to me.

Also, is Yellow really a GBC game? I thought it was just a regular GB game that was able to use its Super Game Boy palette on the GBC system too. I guess we'll see what they do with it on VC.

Ian Sane:
I'm sure they can get away with this price point and these games are actually a deal at this price.  Earlier this year I went to the Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo and the classic Pokémon games were in pretty high demand.  But not from geeky collector's like me.  There were kids at the expo attending with parents that were looking for the old games.  These would have come out before they were born but obviously they had gotten into the series and wanted to go back and play the old titles as well.  Those same kids are going to be begging their parents to buy these on the VC.

more that was initially thought by whom? I'm exctatic to hear $10 as I expected between $15 and $20.First of all you mention games like Earthbound that was an extra $2, but that game wasn't even changed. They had to go in and figure out a way to make the wireless work so you know that will translate into a more expensive game.

Consider the going rate these days for the physical carts, I (and I imagine MOST Pokemon fans) will happily pay $10 for some of the defining games of my childhood. Can't wait!  :D
