TalkBack / Re: Sequel to Zelda: Breath of the Wild Is in Development
« on: June 11, 2019, 07:48:01 PM »
Regardless of how well it reviewed or sold breath of the wild is the first 3D Zelda game that I did not really get into an enjoy, and that's going back all the way to Ocarina of Time :-( I do expect that they would see fit to "keep doing this" but I just pray they make a good Zelda game this time. Breath of the wild may have been a good open world game, or open air, but it was not a good Zelda game 😭

I really enjoyed this back-and-forth format. I could practically hear James' and John's voice in my head! 😁

I never owned the snes but I really like the controller with its colored buttons, the one that didn't come out in the US. I see this prototype and it looks great with its colorful controller but then I saw the American snes with its purple and lighter purple colors and it just makes me sad. if I did have the American snes I would probably import the Japanese controller!

TalkBack / Re: How Do Wii U's Sales Compare to Nintendo's Past Consoles?
« on: October 30, 2013, 08:38:00 PM »
if Wii U moved 3.91 million in ten months and 3DS sold 1.5 in 9 months.. then how does that prove that 3DS more than tripled what Wii U did?

I bought a 3ds because I really wanted 3d gaming! people have suggested nintendo take out 3d forever but I never believed they would actually back pedal on their design choice. they are selling this to kids who shouldn't be exposed to 3d, I understand that. for the first time nintendo has released a product that I have absolutely no interest in buying :-(

TalkBack / Re: Pokémon TV App Now Available
« on: February 13, 2013, 01:57:20 PM »
I couldn't find it in the Google Play Store. I looked it up in the browser-based Google Play Store and noticed that it's only compatible with Android 2.3 and up :-(

well looks like I have an excuse to install 2.3 on my Sidekick :-/

this app released yesterday? I don't see it.. my Android version is a little older though..

I really like this redesign (the first actual Wii redesign) but I think they can't charge $99 for a system that can't go online and costs the same as a Wii that can or at least close to that price (I have seen Wii's go for $99)

so for the first time Nintendo is taking a page from the Sony playbook. Sony would usually say "buy our system even if you don't use it for games it still plays DVD's.. the PS3 also plays Blu-rays" well now Nintendo seems to be saying "buy our system it comes with a built in iPad, even if you don't buy our games at least you can have fun with our iPad!" hmmm, hope it works!

I couldn't use this remote, they should give you the golden remote for storage in your collectables case and motion plus add-on that you can attach to any of your previous remotes :-p :-(

« on: August 16, 2011, 02:24:08 PM »
I actually really love this game, but I only played the first one for the PS2 (it's actually one of the few reasons that I considered the PS2 a viable consideration for a worth while purchase). the downside to this is that one of the reasons I loved it for the PS2 is because I thought it had a really nice and full implementation of the DualShock controller, the 3DS doesn't have as many buttons as the DualShock.. so we'll see how they figure that out. I do really like the idea of seeing this game in 3D though :-D

TalkBack / Re: Netflix Coming to 3DS Tomorrow
« on: July 13, 2011, 07:03:14 PM »
for me it really doesn't do any soothing for the price hike, apparently I don't need DVD's from Netflix anymore. the low price was one of the reasons that I stuck with it to begin with and now that it's coming to 3DS I definitely wanna stick with it.. but I guess now I have to wonder for how long..

on a happier note: I can't believe this is finally coming out!! I read things wrong to begin with and thought that we would have it by E3 but when that didn't happen I was afraid we would have to wait until at least the end of the year.. this is pretty awesome :-D

General Gaming / Re: I want to read Iwata Asks on my Kobo!
« on: June 27, 2011, 04:07:24 AM »
so I did email Nintendo to see if they would be nice enough to offer up the Iwata Asks columns as documents of some sort and they got back to me within two days, which was nice.  however their answer was simply we do not offer the Iwata Asks columns in a downloadable format.  but the person did document my comment for sharing with other departments.  I'm glad he did that much but I'm not expecting big results..

so it does seem that if I want to read these columns on my Kobo then I will have to take care of it manually.  I really was hoping to avoid the pdf route because I think my Kobo displays simple txt documents much, much nicer than it does pdf's but it also occurs to me that simply printing to pdf as nickmitch and BlackNMild2k1 suggesting will probably be less time consuming (but it will still consume much time..) so that's probably what I'll do however I do have one refinement to offer up.  sourceforge.com hosts this app called PDFCreator here http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/ that allows Windows to do what the Mac (and Ubuntu) already can do, print to PDF.  I wanted to mention that option because people without macs could use it and also I've always averse to using online converters wherever it's convenient..

thanks to everyone who offered help :-)

General Gaming / I want to read Iwata Asks on my Kobo!
« on: June 19, 2011, 03:39:22 AM »
is there a way I can get all the Iwata Asks in document form? or pdf or anything besides having to click page by page on Nintendo's site? If I can find a place that offers them up as individual documents then I could read them on my Kobo which would be awesome! I emailed the site about this a while ago but didn't get a reply..

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo Responds to Reports of 3DS Headaches
« on: March 29, 2011, 12:40:43 AM »
I didn't buy any games with my system because nothing really stands out for me right now (I was pleased to have some new hardware for my old games though). just using what little 3D stuff that cam with the system I have to say I'm overall not impressed. I'm not trying to give my opinion of the content mind you I'm merely commenting on what I think of the tech. I haven't had any headaches but then again I haven't put in hours of play in 3D.. it's just irritating because I sit there messing with the 3D slider and the distance of the system from my eyes AND the angle of which I'm holding the system AND the angle between my face to the system... *sigh* and if any of those things goes wrong then I lose the depth, the image goes blurry and I just feel like switching the 3D off! I even showed my gf (who gets by technologically just fine) and after messing w/ it for a couple minutes she told me to consider taking it back to the store and see if it was defective..
I have seen a 3D tv in Best Buy and as much as everyone hates the glasses and even though I know that the price for them is ridiculous I loved it was so impressive.. I wish I could use those glasses on this system.
oh well I guess I should take it back to the store and see what they think..

Podcast Discussion / Re: Episode 37: March Toward 3DS
« on: February 01, 2011, 05:36:33 PM »
I borrowed Other M from my brother and only got to play through it one time before he wanted it back (didn't get to play the epilogue-y part though) and I loved it so much!! when you guys said it was selling for $20 I looked it up right away. true did find it for just under $30 which is wayyy better than $50 it still wasn't at as low as $20.. either way it's a great discount and I will definitely be picking it up at some point.
I was surprised that everyone is so down on the 3DS (I can hardly wait) but I do realize that you're saying you're down on the games not the system and the games make the system.. I was just surprised I guess..
by the way, I listened through and got to the end, but I feel lazy and don't wanna photo edit any pics can I get something for making it to the end? pretty please?

TalkBack / Re: 3DS to Automatically Download and Install Updates
« on: October 02, 2010, 03:58:03 PM »
this is just like anything else (since I've joined the Linux world) all this automated stuff isn't for us, it's for the average user.  they will enjoy it (true so long as their systems keep working) and we will do our best to shut it off :-P
