and then on top of that  you added in a bunch of games that we know are eventually coming out (zelda) but have not been announced, nor have we recived any indication that the game is in any more than the planning stages.  we know that theres going to be another super mario bro's game.  but to say that its on the release docket to speak of now is just dumb.

way to cover for a B.S. post.

why dont we have the next metroid/super mario game/ luigi's mansion/ mario party game on that list... we know there UPCOMING.

And the key word is: UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING! UPCOMING!

a lot of those are not core games. 8 are defiantly not.  there are a few others that are borderline.  and then on top of that  you added in a bunch of games that we know are eventually coming out (zelda) but have not been announced, nor have we recived any indication that the game is in any more than the planning stages.  we know that theres going to be another super mario bro's game.  but to say that its on the release docket to speak of now is just dumb.

I don't know how you guys can fathom calling yourselves gamers and not drool over WiiSports 2 (when WiiSports is still played by some of you) and at the obvious genius of WiiMusic.

Did you see what Miyamoto did right there? I've been wrapping my brains around how WiiMusic would work; most importantly, how the Wiimote would become so many different instruments. Then Miyamoto was the deaf man that watched a concert. Body language plays a huge part in speech, and it's even more true in music.

****ing GENIUS!

Not only that, but I would concede that WiiMotionPlus was a DEFINITE hardcore focused announcement, even if they demoed WiiSports 2.

i was on the fence about your sarcasm before... but now i can see how thick your laying it on.  good show old man you had me believing that you loved this e3... sorry i didnt pick up on it sooner

Ian, your an idiot.

You do realize that Miyamoto trumped Guitar Hero A HUNDRED FOLD.

Wii Music is going to be the game that people who ACTUALLY play an instrument will love.

i play several instruments... so does the drummer in my band.  we love guitar hero/rock band.  wii music does nothing for me.  maybe after i see some footage and get a sence of what the game is really about.  i can only go off of the ign notes really cause im at work now.

this conference said nothing of/failed to deliver
1 storage for the wii
2 Nintendo's franchises other than animal crossing and pokemon
3 wii ware (im pretty sure they said nothing of itl... or very little)
4 didn't wow us with any surprises
5  didnt give us a glimpse of the future.  they could have at least let us know about something sweet even if it wouldnt be coming out untill next year.

at least Microsoft had ff 13.

WTF?! Are you serious?

Wii Music made me laugh and giggle like a little school girl. And Wii Resort is yet again Nintendo proving that cool **** is on the way.

Are you sad that there weren't any hardcore games from them (even though they hinted to the fact that Nintendo's Mario and Zelda teams are making gorgeous games as we speak)?

Let the third parties make the hardcore games for now. Next year, we'll be swimming in "hardcore" franchises.

im really hoping that this is sarcasm.  i just wanted more than animal crossing.

so far all 3 were really disappointing.  but i have to say that the crap that smelled the least came from Microsoft.

I don't know, they were all equally terrible. The FF13 announcement may give them the edge though.

that was kind of my point.  the only surprises Nintendo and sony had was that there conferences sucked.  hell sony talked about the ps2 for a good chunk of time.

Aparently Final Fantasy 13 on 360 is only for Europe and North America, in Japan FF13 is PS3 exclusive.

Here is an excerpt from a live blog:

1:00 - Heidi Kemps asks when these will ship. Will PS3 and 360 ship at the same time? They say that they are just ready to star Xbox 360 development now. It will release in Japan first. Then, PS3 development/translation will begin, and Xbox 360 version should start about the same time. As for the US, the PS3 and 360 will release at the same time. Europe will also get a matched date, though it may not be the same time as the US date.

Kitase adds that they will try to get the Europe and US release dates as close as possible.

1:04- Shane from 1UP asks about Japan and the Xbox 360 version. He says that he hears that it is not coming to Japan. Hashimoto confirms that is is not coming out in Japan for the Xbox 360. As for Infinite Undiscovery, it is a 360 exclusive. Last Remnant will also be at first, but will probably be a PS3 title later.

1:07- Rob. Workman from GameDaily is asking about exclusive content for the different versions of FF 13. They have no intention to make different versions for the different platforms.

1:09 - A Japanese press member asks about the reasoning for the lack of an Xbox 360 Japanese release. Hashimoto says that he likes the spread of the Xbox 360 in Europe and the US, and they have not changed their mind on a Japanese version.

thats probably just a money thing.  they sold about 35 or 40 360 so far in japan since its launch.

i think you guys are really judging this thing to harshly.  ff13 is huge due to the fact that every copy sold on the 360 is one that sony isn't getting.  not to mention that Microsoft has a bigger install base.  as far as killer apps go there was only gears 2.  but re5, ff13 and the other rpg's that were mentioned like infinite undiscovry and star ocean means that people don't have to buy a ps3.  i actually think this was really huge from the stand point of taking wind out of sony sails/sales. take that pun however you want.

i wouldn't say it was a bomb.  you had gears 2/ ff13 (a major coup for Microsoft) re5 and a few other games that look good that we already know about. im glad i have a 360 now.

i have it and i cant say its worth 40. i would pay no more than 30 bucks for it.  you do get 1-8 plus the arcade games and a few other extras, but its a hard game to play with the control set up that they have. and you cant customize it.  but on the plus side you also dont get the lag that you got from overtaxing the nes hardware that you got before.

like i said if you can find it for 30 jump on it... but no more just wait it out.

do you get graded on this?  like say you dont get enough credits to pass whatever grade your in, do you get bumped up to the minimum for winning?  that would be cool

Wait, if you get NFL in the UK, do they call it Football? American Football? Freedom Fries Ball?

i think with the translation it comes out to "super awesome donkey putt putt".  American to English translations are really tough.

to talk about the neo geo game titles the ps1 was worse.  late in its life they had a ton of games just called what they were.  there was darts, shooter, billiards, fighter, and im pretty sure racer.  i cant remember the name of the company that made these games, and they all retailed for 20 bucks.  i remember working at game stop at the time and wanting to become a programer just so i could work for that company.

update:  the company was agetec

not that any one cares but me.
