TalkBack / More Pikmin 2 Info

Sure you could play at different paces.  Some chose to keep going forward in the game and beat it sooner, and maybe miss a few parts the first time through.  Then others would replay a day a time or two, to make sure one knows what's going on and should be done, to get the most out of each game day.

About not allowing you to replay a day as a way to balance out the lack of day limit... not sure I'd agree with that.  It would make me be overly cautious.  Then, if you screwed up, you'd be forced to take time and regrow your forces.  But that's a pretty monotonous task.

Interesting... I thought the big thing about the disc being necessary was this meant the GameCube couldn't boot from an external device without the disc's aid, thus helping to prevent one method of piracy.

Nintendo Gaming / Final Fantasy 3 on Game Boy Advance?

I'm sure they won't put off porting FFs 1-6 to the GBA forever.  My best guess is that they want to do them in order, but don't want to release the first two right now, to give the PlayStation ports of the Wonderswan Color remakes their chance to sell.

RABicle: You're right that GBA does more and better speech, though a lot of this is due to the fact that GBA carts tend to hold more than SNES carts, so there's simply more room to store such things.  However, compare the same musics being done on SNES and GBA (the Super Mario Advance games are good examples), and the GBA ones just plain sound inferior.  The output quality of the sound is lower than that of SNES as ewll.

So yeah, some sound aspects are better, and some are worse.  A lot like the graphics, actually.  More effects and colors, but only 2/3 the screen area.

I agree the place LOOKS a mite dull to the eyes, but hey, I can live with that.  Rather no avatars than stupid 100+ K animated ones I see at some places.  In my ideal forum world, avatars would have a limit like a single kilobyte; more like the emoticon images.  Enough to pick out certain people's posts if you're just browsing, but small enough it couldn't cause much offense or bandwidth drag if it tried.

Also, now that the forums are back at PGC, the auto-posting of Talkback news is back.  I gladly hand the robot back the Talkback Moderator cap I'd been borrowing.

The one thing I'm still left wondering about is, it was always said the reason PGC stopped hosting the forums themselves was due to the bandwidth being prohibitively expensive.  Have things like shirts and DVDs changed that?
