We should all be thanking the maker of trollface right now.

Since Schuetz can’t reveal his sales data without Nintendo raising an eyebrow, Ramirez instructed his lawyer to dig into into the issue. Ramirez wants Nintendo to hand over email correspondence with Ninja Pig Studios to answer some pretty key questions. Was Nintendo aware of a possible copyright violation? And how much has the game sold since release?

Choice Provisions, formerly Gaijin Games(Runner 2, Bit.Trip) is publishing the retro-styled RPG Dragon Fantasy: The Volume of Westeria on Wii U and 3DS, with crossbuy.

The game looks pretty cool.  But I wish there was a bit more of a market for new ideas of the eShop, it seems like so many of the games rely on nostaglia, but I'm guessing it's because that's what sells.

That reminds me, I still need to buy Runner 2 one of these days.

I like that it has cross-buy. Looks like something I could get behind. Will your save be easily transferable?

Also, why did they change their name from Gaijin Games? Choice Provisions sounds so...uninteresting.

It's very rare to get hard sales data for indie games on the eShop, but the folks behind Tengami have provided some.(Source) Emphasis mine.

iOS - 196k, Wii U - 11k, PC/Mac - 11k
The game has generated around 1.1million in gross revenue, with about 650k going to platform holders.

Quote
A lot of developers ask me about the Wii U, whether it's a good platform for independent developers. To be honest, I don't know if it's a good platform for independent developers, but I don't regret releasing on the Wii U.
We decided we're going to do a Wii U version, I worked under the assumption it would sell 10,000 copies - it sold a little bit more by now, so that's okay.
Speaking to other independent developers, there seems to be a consensus that the average indie game on the eShop has sold 10,000 copies in its lifetime - we've sold 11,000 now, and I think there's more room to grow. I think our lifetime sales will be closer to 20,000 in the end.

Those numbers for Tengami just reveal how crazy big ios volumes are.  At least the Wii U version is keeping up with mac/pc sales.

I bought Q.U.B.E. recently on PS4 when it was on sale (I didn't realize it was coming to Wii U or I probably would've waited for that), and I've liked what I've played Not really challenging so far, but I'm still early.

If the port is thought through KSP could be the best gamepad use yet.

Guys, guys. Shouldn't we be more interested in celebrating the recent launch of Runbow? It's a 2D Platformer! The Wii U eShop doesn't have any of those!

Runbow is awesome. If you're the kind of person who thinks there are too many platformers (AKA the wrong kind of person) you might be skeptical, but it's a pretty neat concept that I'm enjoying quite a bit, and I've only played it in single player so far.

I am going to approach it cautiously. The music does not appeal to me at all and as I said in Neal's review, I think it demoed very poorly. The praise is appreciated.

Great showing from the Nindies, even if there's more 2D platformers on the way. I am going to be picking up a lot of titles in the future.

The 3DS eShop is one of my favorite features of the platform, and though the Wii U eShop has not yet reached the highest highs as it, I would argue that the level of quality is starting to balance out between the two.

Damon Baker is fast becoming my favorite person at Nintendo right now. Here he is talking about KSP:

Quote
We feel we have the definitive version on Wii U because of our interface…You’ll be able to utilize the touchscreen and the GamePad in a number of different ways from actually building the spacecraft and navigating the spacecraft and even getting different perspectives. You’ll be able to fly the spacecraft from the cockpit utilizing the GamePad as a different viewpoint.

And here's the trailer.

I adore Little Inferno and World of Goo although for this game it's not immediately obvious what the gameplay actually is, perhaps it'll be more fun going in blind.
