I'm a power up reward member at Gamestop. They sent me an email recently offering me more money than usual fro trading in certain games like Xenoblade, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and the Mario All Stars Collection. They offered me retail price or slightly more for each of these titles. I'm a collector, so I don't trade games back, but I did think it interesting that they would offer full retail price or greater for a used game. Now they show their colors.

But this isn't anything new. I saw a used copy of Super Princess Peach at Gamestop last year used priced at $40. And a used copy of Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga 2 for $45. Gamestop is not above selling used games for higher than the original retail price.

Announces Mario Kart. Shows picture of a bike. [sigh] Nintendo, why do you do this?

If he really did swipe Activision's money, why hasn't he been sued and/or indicted for doing so? That by itself should be enough for people to question whether the article is legit. I'll wait for some concrete evidence before I slander the man.

While I've always been intrigued by the idea of this series, I've never picked it up. But now I read this. *sigh* Looks like I'm going to be picking them all up in preparation for this. Curse you, OCD.

There is one character that I would love to see in the next Smash: Mega Man. I've wanted Mega Man in smash since the first game was released on the N64. Some people may not remember the GameShark, or that you could write your own codes for the GameShark. I spent a lot of time trying to make Samus blue so that I could pretend she was Mega Man.

With the addition of Snake & Sonic to Brawl, I thought we had a chance of getting Mega Man. Sonic was the mascot of Nintendo's long time rival, Sega, and Snake (with the exception of Twin Snakes and a GBC came) had been a Sony exclusive for several years. If Nintendo could bag those 2 characters, it seemed possible, nay, likely that they could add Capcom's blue bomber.

Given that last year was Mega Man's 25th anniversary, and that Capcom celebrated it by not releasing a new game, cancelling the two games they had in development for him, and did not release a collection of any sort, it seems like Capcom should let Nintendo use Mega Man. Capcom didn't even use him in Marvel vs Capcom 3! Capcom doesn't seem to care about their mascot, so let Nintendo put him to good use. Smash games live forever. Immortalize Mega Man.

I have a request for Neal: if Nintendo does not confirm a Stateside release of Fire Emblem: Awakening, would you please poke Reggie in the ribs with a stick? Not hard enough to do any damage, but hard enough to let him know our collective displeasure should suffice. Thank you.

A lot has been said, and it seems a lot of people have strong opinions. In regards to the original question in the article, which do I prefer, I'd have to say that I prefer good Virtual Console releases. That having been said, I;m not saying anything against the eShop--there are many great titles there--but this boils down to a matter of opinion for gamers everywhere. What I would say on the subject of "what Nintendo should do" is that the voice of the consumer should tell them what to do. It's good business. Let the 3rd party and indy people handle the eShop--Nintendo has a responsibility to us Virtual Console shoppers.

These surveys serve as a blind control group study. The price could be higher or lower (not likely lower, but possible). As for the two controllers, I never doubted Nintendo could make it work--the technology is available.

My concern is over the price of the tablets. In previous statements, Nintendo claimed the Wii U would only use one tablet due to the prohibitively high cost of such a device. I don't want $100+ controllers. It's obscene enough paying $40 for a Wiimote and $20 for a nunchuck, much like paying $60 for a PS3 controller.

If the controllers are expensive enough to discourage owning more than one, developers will be hesitant to develop titles that require multiple tablets. An unused feature is a useless feature (for example the modem for the Gamecube or the component cables for the Gamecube).

E3 will give us a better idea of what we are facing.

While I see why digital distribution appeals to some, I dislike it. I am a collector. I like having my case and artwork. That has been particularly disappointing with this last generation (namely Wii)--the cases are generic featuring three languages (the manuals too), and the manuals do little other than give you the health and safety warning and basic controls. I want a return to manuals with substance--story, artwork, detailed controls, tips from the developers, etc. I would be perfectly fine paying the standard retail price for a detailed game with proper case and developed instruction manual while allowing the "digital downloaders" to pay a reduced fee for their digital copy. That only seems fair.

What I personally would like to see in the next Smash Bros. game is the inclusion of more classic stages--especially the ones from the N64. Those were some great stages, but the only one to make it to Brawl was Corneria. Very few N64 stages made it into Melee and few Melee stages made it into Brawl. In Brawl's stage builder, I recreated (to the best of my ability with the limited pieces) several of the classic stages. From the developer's statements, it does not seem like he would be particularly interested in adding these classic stages, but it is something I would love to see.

I usually play with the 3D slider around half capacity. It still gives me additional depth, but without the headache and it saves on battery power.

It would be great to see this title localized, but it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't happen. A little off topic, but I'd be more interested in seeing the 3DS Fire Emblem localized for the USA. We need more RPGs on the 3DS.

Great list. I think I would replace the metal suit with the tanooki, but that's just me. And I believe that Kirby's Return to Dreamland for the Wii features a successor to the Goomba Shoe.

A very unexpected, but pleasing, Fave Five. Thank you for this article. Cuteness quota for the day met.

I miss having manuals. We haven't had real game manuals in console games for a while. What happened to the days when they came with tips from the developers of the game? Game manuals had cool artwork and information you wouldn't get anywhere else. I'm tired of opening my "game manual" to find it's just the basic directions for saving and simple controls in three languages. And for that matter, I'm tired of my game cases being in three languages instead of telling me more about the game.

Distributed how? Nintendo Wi-fi, Gamestop, Toys 'R Us? Where do we go to claim our Pokemon?

Thank you for pointing this out. Games are entertainment, but entertainment shouldn't mean you turn your brain off. I'm tired of spelling and grammar errors in my video games. They pull you out of the story, destroying the illusion and world that game creators strive so hard to portray. It wouldn't hurt anyone to have a native speaker of the language (or two) in question, do a read through of all the text to assure there are no errors.

I'm sorry, but I can't endorse a list that includes Mario Kart Wii while ignoring Double Dash!!. While Mario Kart Wii did have a lot of fun tracks, the addition of bikes in a kart was, in my opinion, unwelcome. And the blue shell, which is supposed to be a rare item, would appear up to four times in a three lap race! Mario Kart Wii, over all, is a fun game, but it had some serious issues. I'll take Double Dash!! over it any day.

I'm going to agree with Metts on this one. If this type of article was what I was looking for, I'd head to lesser sites like IGN. Zach, I like the concept of a recurring "Top 5" article series, but this was a poor way to start it. Chozoghost has it right--it should be more Nintendo centered.

Dear Nintendo,

Please release Fire Emblem in the USA. I you refuse to do so, I will club one baby seal a day in your name until the situation is rectified. That is all.

Thank you.

Unless you're downloading something or playing online, there really isn't a reason to have the Wi-Fi on. I play my 3DS without SpotPass, StreetPass, Wi-Fi, or anything, and my battery life is great. As far as the price is concerned, I don't know how anyone could justify purchasing a battery that costs nearly as much as the system does. If this hits America, they'll have to tone down the price.

This is indeed unfortunate. On a separate note, I don't wish to seem insensitive, but does Nintendo's statement strike anyone as odd? He passed away AND retired as director? Wouldn't passing away imply that he would no longer be working for Nintendo?

All Karl's fault, huh? Well, I do love escaping blame... alright then, all in favor of blaming Karl for my shortsightedness and ignoring that Neal purposely hired young people, please make manifest by raising your right hand and saying, "Aye."

But seriously, just do it in front of your monitor--not in the forum. 1) It will be funny to see how people react to your apparently unmotivated voting. 2) We don't want to spam this fine article's forum... even if it is funny and would vindicate myself.

On a note of relevance to this article, another multiplayer memory would have to be playing the original Mario Kart for the SNES. Whether my bro and I were lapping the computer racers in the Grand Prix or blasting each other in battle, it was always fun. I'm a green shell sniper.
