TalkBack / Re: Shantae: Half-Genie Hero (Wii U) Review
« on: December 25, 2016, 11:06:41 PM »
Respectfully, it doesn't deserve a 9. I'd give it a 7 at best. The level design is honestly amateur and NOT "varied." It's downright lazy and boring at times.

NO ONE likes the disappearing blocks ala "Heat Man's stage". NO ONE.
Visuals and sounds are some of the best I've ever seen, no doubt. In a 2D game, at least. But the gameplay is ho-hum average. Really takes the game down a notch.

I waited for LOZOOT3D, and I can certainly wait for LOZTP HD to be on sale at that price in the coming years.

TalkBack / Re: SquareEnix Coming To Western Wii U Virtual Console

What I'll never understand is if Nintendo has built this "great" partnership with SquareEnix over the years, why they don't release the original Tactics, or any of the PS1 FF games, or seriously ANYTHING SE has made in the last 20 years (Vagrant Story anyone?!) on Sony machines and release them on the WiiU VC.  Do they have some kind of retarded exclusive deal with Sony?  If Rare can publish former-Nintendo games on MS's XB1, then Sony can certainly give up the ghost and let SE put their own goddamn games on another system.

TalkBack / Re: Japan Wii U Virtual Console Getting Mother 3
« on: November 16, 2015, 01:13:30 PM »
Okay, yeah sure. There are far worse games then Mother 3 out there in terms of content that children play. You think parents give a **** anymore? Please. Just because it is from Nintendo it is expected to be different? Then they would have received letters for the Bayonetta release. Even if they did get hate mail, they can safely ignore it. Hardly anybody nowadays have the conviction to boycott.

Since you clearly have all this insight, please by all means explain why Nintendo removed the boob slider from Xenoblade Chronicles X?  Surely, we can't have anyone offended by something so ridiculously minor!

Just the existence of okamas in that game (they're main characters) is more than enough for Nintendo to not bring it over to this puritan, prudish nation.  One angry letter from an overly protective parent (or hundreds, however you look at it) is something NoA seriously wants to avoid, apparently.

I can't wait for this game to once again steal all the limelight away from Metroid, which is also celebrating its 30th.

Before anyone gets all worked up, you need to ask yourself: Do you want this game in a censored form?
There's no way that N would release Mother 3 with a translation-only.  No way in hell.  There's too much "questionable" content in there for the SJWs at Nintendo treehouse to get their panties in a bunch.

I'm just happy no one in here is crying over how difficult it is for them to get an external HDD, (and an extra power strip, which apparently NO ONE owns).  It's seriously less than $5 to get an enclosure for an old HD.  That's what I have plugged into my WiiU.

Have most people not owned at least 3-4 computers in the last 15 years?  Am I really an outlier here?

Damn... here I was really tempted to pay full price for it.  Games just aren't worth day 1 for me anymore.  Especially easy ones.  How many levels are there?  More than Yoshi's Island?

Wouldn't it be so hilarious if the true reason it was delayed was something utterly mind-numbingly frivilous like they need more time to animate and render out the CGI intro?

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo Sales Panic: August 2015 US NPD Group Results
« on: September 11, 2015, 03:50:32 PM »
Hm, Nintendo you want sales?  Well maybe you can start by doing the following:
  • Quit shitting all over your fans with BS copyright claims who want to innocently upload their playthroughs on Youtube, no matter what the game is.  Sony and MS don't give a damn about this - in fact they PROMOTE IT.
  • Get with the times in regards to online purchases and shopping (The eShop is 100% anti-consumer)
  • Make better games that don't cater specifically to children or young audiences
  • Actually make 3rd party devs GIVE A SINGLE ****.
Respect is earned.  Quite frankly, you've lost this generation and likely every other generation to come.

Will probably buy on WiiU.  Playing that game on a WiiU gamepad just sounds sublime.

Doesn't this mark the first time since the CD-i that Nintendo has allowed their games to officially be on a non-Nintendo-owned console/OS?

TalkBack / Re: Mega Man Legacy Collection Announced For 3DS
« on: June 08, 2015, 02:55:43 PM »
If anyone's wondering why it's not on WiiU, it would cut into VC game sales.  MM1-6 are all out on VC, so it makes no sense for them to compete with themselves.

Aside from that, who the hell wants to buy this anyway?  "HD" graphics?  Give me a break.  They could have EASILY done both - updated all 6 games into high color, HD tiles with identical gameplay AND give us the original versions.  They did it with Super Turbo, why couldn't Megaman have gotten the same treatment?

**** all this Amiibo nonsense.  I will only buy one other Amiibo, and it will be Zero Suit Samus, and I'll probably have to pay a fucking scalper to do it.

The games are really beautiful. Like REALLY REALLY beautiful.  But unfortunately this is a clear example of when aesthetics can affect gameplay.  The physics on the boxes that the Wizard generates can be quite a pain in the ass at times and like it's been said, the jumps are extremely floaty.

I haven't even beat the first one yet... got all the way to the Moon, which is when challenge really ramps up.  Loving the game though.  Definitely a great way to get your oldschool Megaman fix on.

I have this game on WiiU but i have a distinct problem with the sound on my game.
Anytime a loud explosion plays - my speakers give off a horrible static.  This happens with both my PS3 and WiiU - hooked up via HDMI.  My sound output is also Optical Out.

If anyone has this issue, I would love to talk to you further about it.
The game is great - I just have to play it through my WiiU pad and not my TV due to the sound problem.
