I typically enjoy the pairing of Seth Rogen and James Franco so I would have watched The Interview eventually anyway. It isn't a movie I'd see in theaters. I still haven't seen Interstellar. I think the last movie I bought a ticket for was Guardians of the Galaxy.

Ugh, I wish Sony would just let Marvel/Disney handle Spider-Man creatively. I don't care how they split everything else like distribution, marketing, etc. Sony has shown itself to be artistically bankrupt and incompetent in so many ways. Let Sony even keep the rights if it helps Sony execs feel like they have a seat at the adults table, just let Marvel show those idiots how to make movies.

I think Marvel's main hang up is that while Marvel is technically trying to get over on Sony, they are still doing them a HUGE favor by taking creative control. But Sony want to be play like they are in the power position on this deal and be able to use Marvel characters in Sony produced Spidey movies w/o Marvel's permission... and that is certainly a deal breaker, because that means more contract negotations and possible interference w/ ongoing MCU plotlines and characters.

Sony just needs to realize that they get to profit from Marvel doing most of the heavy lifting and just accept that check. Almost no risk, all reward. and they no longer need to waste time, talent and money on terrible movies that should've been good.

One thing I do want to know, is what does this mean for Drew Goddard? Who left his passion project of Daredevil to pursue a blockbuster writing/directing role for Sinister Six?

the actual hackers still want to keep any focus of of themselves, and as long as prior think it's N. Korea, that pays in both their and Sony's favor.

I was wondering the same thing regarding legal repercussions. I'm just hoping that after everything coming to them, it causes them to willingly release Spider-man in the process.
