So... what you're saying is Star Fox is dead, Metroid is dead, F-Zero is dead, we're never going to see another Rogue Squadron?

Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;

For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

I was thinking they might pick a theme every year. Next year I hope they do Sci Fi.

I'd LOVE Sci Fi! But maybe they should do Sports first... Olympics, Wave Race, Madden, Hockey, Rocket League, NASCAR, Link's Longbow Training...

I am a little sad that we only got an additional 20 seconds of footage of Warriors from the Fire Emblem Direct trailer. I was hoping for a few character confirmations. Though seeing how much effort they have already put into the online game (listings of EVERY character from EVERY game with official English names), I have been reassured that we will have a lot of great and diverse characters in FE Warriors.

considering how Hyrule Warriors was, I don't think we have anything to worry about.

Every game I own on the 3DS is an RPG, aside from Theatrhythm but even that is debatable since you can level characters and such.  As a result the fantasy focus of the Switch actually appeals to me a lot.  It seems to cover the same bases that made me love the 3DS.

Though part of my mentality with the 3DS is that I tend to move controllers in action games which has never worked well on a handheld where the screen ends up moving with the controller.  My 3DS purchases was more an intentional decision to work around that quirk.  That isn't necessary for a console.  My Wii U library is much more varied so I'm not sure how well my 3DS approach will work if RPG-esque games are ALL I have available.

Fire Emblem Switch is """confirmed""" for 2018, NO SCI FI FOR YOU.

Maybe the "Fire Emblem that takes place on Mars" idea that was originally going to be Awakening will be recycled for the Switch version? Then the series can finally die and Intelligent Systems can make good games again!
