White Wii U GameCube Controller Adapter Spotted

If you're wishing to own one, you will be disappointed.

We spotted a white colored Wii U GameCube Controller Adapter at a recent Nintendo event.

When we asked Nintendo representatives about this white variant we were told that it is simply a pre-production model and it will not be sold in stores. Regardless, we thought the item was cool enough to share with our readers.

The standard black Wii U GameCube Controller Adapter will launch alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U later this year. It will be available as a standalone item for $19.99, or as part of the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Wii U bundle for $99.99.

The black one looks better anyways, so doesn't bother me.

Unless it has more support then for just Smash Bros I'm not interested either.

The GameCube controllers felt awkward to me so this really isn't a loss for me. But it'd still have been cool to have the option anyway.

I guess there weren't enough white Basic Sets sold for them to produce any more white accessories.

I'm really hoping they pull out the wavebird again, though I have heard that went into patent hell so I don't expect it.

They are, it's part of the $100 bundle that also included a copy of SSBU and the GCN adapter.

$29.99 for a 12 year old controller? Does Nintendo offer any controllers that aren't 10+$ overpriced?

Nobody does. Peripherals are where the margins are for console manufacturers.
Insanolord is a terrible moderator.
