Topic: Predict When Nintendo Will Unveil the NX!

In about 7 months, Nintendo is supposedly releasing the NX along with Zelda BotW. Yet, aside from that, it's still a mystery as to when Nintendo is going to fully unveil the NX and start promoting it. So, why not start a pool and find out who can best predict the date Nintendo finally launches an NX direct or press conference on this shadow system? Price is Right rules. Forum user closest to the date without going over is the winner and Official NWR NX Expert.

For myself, I question whether Nintendo is going to wait until after end of the year before announcing the system in a misguided effort to keep the news from further sinking any Wii U sales they may hope to still make. Will they start talking about it before the PS and XB half-console launches or after them? September and October would put it about half a year away and usually that's when Nintendo will start pulling back the curtain. Yet, I wonder whether Nintendo is going to do something different this time and wait until much closer to launch to unveil. Of course, this could mean the reveal gets spoiled by other sources which could deflate the announcement when it finally occurs.

In the end, I'm going to go with Oct. 20th 2016 as my guess for the reveal. I think Nintendo will want to steal some thunder from Sony and Microsoft before people buy those consoles in the hopes they're willing to wait a few months for the NX experience and blow them away with their launch plans. It would mean the NX would launch in about 5 months from the announcement so the wait time from reveal is a bit shorter and it gives them time to promote whatever other product they may want to discuss or remind consumers about during the holiday shopping time while they wait for the NX launch.

March 30, 2017. Hold their reveal event Thursday night, system released Friday morning.

I like the way you think. Even better, I hope Nintendo has a 30 second press conference to announce that they are launching a new console called the NX and if you want to know what it is all about it, you'll have to buy one. Then sell the NX in a blank cardboard box so no can tell what it is. But don't just sell one type of NX. Sell 10 different kinds with varying power and controllers. That way, consumers will be trying to collect them all but they'll never know what they'll get until they buy the box to open it. It's like blind pack trading cards but for consoles. It's brilliant!

I'm going to go with October 27th. 

Nintendo Directs usually seem to happen on Thursday and I feel Nintendo is waiting until the end of October to do it.  The reason I'm saying end of October is Paper Mario is basically the last advertised Wii U game which comes out in early October and they probably want to give it some time in the light because once they show off the NX, since they don't want to even mention the Wii U after that.  Yeah Breath of the Wild will get a Wii U version but that's not going to be advertised and will only be something the fans know about just like how they handled the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess.

I'm going with the North America Direct here and EST time zone.

I'm thinking 22nd September, it's a nice wholesome number with both the two's twenty two. It's a Thursday but I don't think that has much bearing, although I do think it'll be on a week day.
