Clonester has some valuable ideas cause that is what I was thinking. Use more of your trademark purple at least! And we need SOMETHING to seperate us from everyone else as epicac said:

That exactly what I was thinking too. We gotta get something like that in here and fast! And by the way, size can be sustained in EZboard, so why can't the signitures be made smaller for everyone here? I think that they moderators can set a code somehow that can limit the size of signiture pictures.

Yeah, the cool thing about avatars is that you can quickly tell who is posting what.  So if avatars are out of the question, perhaps you might reconsider the 'no sig pic' rule, and just have VERY STRICT filesize standards.

Another idea: Is there anyway users could have customized colors for their names?  Or at the very least, can you make usernames a larger font?   Just SOMETHING to make the poster name to stand out.

2002 was a better year than some whould claim. Nintendo didn't hit it's shipping quotas but not by much. And remember every Million console they sell since they made that new deal is $50,000,000 for them in profits. Something that Microsoft or Sony can claim. They are behind by so what, the SNES was behind over 90% of its life. So they can still secure second place. I don't think, and its almost in the relm of the impossible, for them to catch up to what the PS2 will end up. But their profits will be simular or more than their competitors.

2003 will be a better year but not a year were were Nintendo will dominate. The Xbox and PS2 have good line ups. Nintendo will stay within a good distance, and with Zelda will start selling consoles. And what of the rest of the year, only time and E3 will tell.

I don't know, not having an avatar makes things seem a little... bland. But I'm just kinda sad about losing the old forums, so I'm probally just being pestimistic.

Shigeru Miyamoto to make rare and intimate appearance in London later this month to promote the release of the Zeldas.  What!? You can MEET SHIGGY?!

Shigeru Miyamoto to appear at Virgin Megastore Oxford Street

Shigeru Miyamoto is to appear at Virgin Megastore Oxford Street (14-16 Oxford St, London) on Friday 21st February from 1-3pm.

Legend of the video games world, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto, will be making his first ever European public appearance exclusively at the Virgin Megastore Oxford Street on Friday 21st February at 1pm. This is your chance to meet one of the most creative minds of today and the genius behind many of the world's most popular and enduring video games, including Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros., and The Legend of Zelda. Over the years these and many other titles have graced the NINTENDO GAMECUBE, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), Game Boy, and Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

Miyamoto-san is making a rare visit to the UK to promote new Nintendo titles The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for Game Boy Advance, out 28th March, and the awesome new NINTENDO GAMECUBE title The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, out on May 3rd, which is the 1st anniversary of the NINTENDO GAMECUBE.

On the day fans can buy or bring along any Miyamoto Nintendo title for him to sign, from a list of over 70 titles since 1981. Not only will Miyamoto-san be signing games, but the first 10 people in the queue will take away their very own signed copy of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for Game Boy Advance, a month in advance of its UK release in March, so get there early.

Lastly, but by no means least, an exclusive competition will run from Thursday 6th February on virgin.com/megastores where those in search of an extra special memento of the day will have a chance to win their very own piece of hand-drawn signed artwork by Miyamoto-san.

Stephen Lynn, Marketing Manager, Virgin Megastores comments:

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for gaming fans to meet one of the most revered figures in the video game world. We are extremely thrilled that Miyamoto-san has chosen to make such a rare appearance at the Virgin Megastore, Oxford Street. We are firmly behind bringing the best in gaming to our customers and we feel this collaboration with Nintendo will not only broaden our direct involvement in the gaming arena but will demonstrate Virgin Megastores innovation within the industry."

Considered by his peers to be the greatest video game designer in the world and called "The Spielberg of Video Games" by Time Magazine (May 1996), Shigeru Miyamoto is Senior Managing Director, Entertainment Analysis & Development, of Nintendo Co., Ltd. in Kyoto, Japan.

Miyamoto-san joined Nintendo in 1977 as an industrial designer. In 1981, Nintendo released Mr. Miyamoto's first masterpiece, the arcade game Donkey Kong. The NES was released in 1985 with Miyamoto's Super Mario Bros., the classic side-scrolling action game which set the standard for all future home console video games. Eventually, more than 40 million units were sold worldwide, and a series of mega-hit titles was born, including the 1996 N64 best-seller, Super Mario 64.

To date, Miyamoto has worked on more than 70 different Nintendo video game titles. More than 165 million video games in the Mario series have been sold world-wide. As well as the forthcoming Legend of Zelda titles, Miyamoto-san's most recent projects include Pikmin and Super Mario Sunshine on the NINTENDO GAMECUBE as well as Super Mario Advance: Yoshi's Island and Mario Kart: Super Circuit on the Game Boy Advance.

Here comes the Ben Affleck game!

Daredevil for the GBA is shipping right now - well in advance of the movie premiere. Be on the lookout for it at your favorite retailer - it retails for about $30.

I'm not a big fan of avatars in posts, those small avatars that go next to your name yeah, but sites which allow people to post big pictures under their posts are really hard on non-broadband users, and the pics can get old really fast.

I'm glad to see EZBoard got the boot, things are looking good so far, considering this is a beta. But there are a few things I'm not happy with (shock horror). First, this reply box is WAY too long, second, these Emoticons suck ass, and finally, I'm a bit sad about the lack of avatars. They make a forum complete!

Everybody looks the same without them...
I liked PGC's original avatar settings. Where they could only be a strict 20x20 size, and you had to host them yourself...

No avatars, eh?  Well that's going to take some getting used to.  I always found it easier to identify posters by their avatar instead of their name.  But if it's not possible then there's no use complaining about it.

Coolest thing about these new forums: I now have a space seperating my first and last name!  Oh and no full screen popup ads is good too.

I like this. A lot faster than the ezboard, and I'm also liking the new banner at the top. "Where PGC readers go to bitch about EVERYTHING" <-best slogan ever. lol. Well, let's see... 2002 kicked ass. Great games. Metroid, Mario, Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil, TimeSplitters 2, Animal Crossing... 2003 looks like it's going to be very promising too. We already have Skies of Arcadia: Legends, and we're getting Zelda (pre-order disc deal=PWN), and hopefully Animal Crossing 2 (supposedly confirmed by NoE to be online), Mario Kart/Golf/Tennis (also supposedly online, NoE), maybe the new Pikmin and Mario games, and much more. I'm looking forward to this year, it shall be a good one. And TEH SS FOUR GOGIAT, congratulations on the first topic. EDIT: Oh, hey, that's cool. It shows you what posts are new when you look at a topic. Nice.

Word.  Not having avatars is seriously throwing me off.  Hopefully this'll change in the future.  At least I can now spend more time posting instead of killing pop ups.
