TalkBack / Re: Disney Universe Review
« on: November 06, 2011, 08:20:35 PM »
I have actually enjoyed Epic Mickey, though I've never been interested in DU and it's a shame that this didn't turn out well considering that Eurocom is a pretty good developer. Disney needs to get Capcom back on board and make some more 2D Mickey Mouse titles.

TalkBack / Re: eShop Adding Demos, DLC, and Internet Functionality
« on: October 28, 2011, 12:15:22 AM »
Though the best thing about it is that you can buy through a PC and the 3DS downloads through sleep mode. So when it's all implemented, you can buy stuff from a PC similar to Xbox.com, queue it up and your 3DS downloads while its connected to the internet while sleeping, so when you're ready to play your 3DS you will have the games already downloaded and ready to go. Also, this means an account based system is a requirement, I have a feeling that it would go through your club nintendo account.

Very awesome, now if they only allow you to pay the exact cost. I don't mind if there is a $5 minimum like on PSN but it's annoying to see a couple of cents left over almost every time.

So it looks like IGN is at it again, but actually this time a IGN review got called out for rushing the review for PixelJunk Sidescroller, by Dylan Cuthbert of Q-Games who developed it. What's even better, the IGN reviewer even edited the review to remove the evidence of him rushing the game.

This NeoGaf post shows all the pictures of the drama, even a before and after edits of the paragraph in question.

I think Nnooo is a decent developer and escapeVektor is a neat game. Though I have to admit Pop for WiiWare is also a fun distraction. (for me the alternate title for Pop is -  Pop: Bombard Johnny Metts' Wii Message Board with updates from the game)

TalkBack / Re: Sega Removing R-Type From Virtual Console
« on: September 28, 2011, 08:44:59 AM »
FYI, the licensing issue is that Irem is close to closing it's doors and I believe that they have sold some of their licenses including R-Type. I have heard that the R-Type games have been pulled from PSN already.

Also, I wouldn't want to buy the Sega Master System version of R-Type considering that the superior Turbo-Grafx 16 version is still currently available. If anyone is wondering, there are a total of 4 R-Type games available currently on the VC, which are: R-Type (TGFX-16), R-Type (SMS), Super R-Type (SNES), R-Type III: The Third Lightning (SNES).

TalkBack / Re: Iwata Says No to More Price Drops, Mobile Support
« on: September 18, 2011, 11:13:00 PM »
Nintendo should consider mobile support for 3DS, and make it have more features like a mobile phone. The Wii channels would work wonderfully on the 3DS, I never used the newschannel but if that was customizable RSS reader and used spot pass to update every morning that would be great.
a 3DS re-design with dual circle pads, 4G chip built in, high quality cameras and more support for aps. Fight fire with FIRE nintendo

4G haha no, after seeing the 3G data access prices for PS Vita in Japan, I would never want it for a portable game console. If I wanted online connectivity outside of wireless hotspots that badly for a 3DS or PS Vita, I'd rather use a cellphone that has tethering or a MiFi device.

If the 3DS had all of those features in your proposed redesign, then the redesigned 3DS would be potentially $300+, much bulkier, and it would never happen since Nintendo wouldn't want to force users pay for expensive data plans. Also, if you unaware, 4G cellular radios drain batteries rather fast.

TalkBack / Re: Square Enix Dates New Dragon Quest Titles for Japan
« on: September 05, 2011, 01:08:44 PM »
Nintendo already confirmed that they are publishing Fortune Street for Wii this year (and also Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2). I have a feeling that Rocket Slime 3 will come out next year courtesy of Nintendo.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Zelda II: F#(k This Game!!!!!!!
« on: September 02, 2011, 07:14:25 AM »
I believe the power button did practically nothing with the initial firmware and only showed the shutdown dialog. Guess Nintendo realized that a button doing nothing was kinda useless.

The start and select buttons on the 3DS are generally garbage, I have a very hard time pressing A+B+S+S in Link's Awakening too.

For GB and GBC games you can use the Y button as the select button.

Well, I suppose that explains all the "My Notebook" "games" on DSiWare.   ;)

It's the theory of "if we throw enough crap out there, someone, somewhere, will buy it"

As much as I'm for this royalty system, it's a shame it attracts all this App Store style crap to the DSi. I hope it doesn't continue on the 3DS. (3D Notebook anyone?)
Here's hoping the eShop rating system helps filter out the crap.

If a person bought a "3D Notebook" they would be a fool considering how you can suspend your game and take notes.

TalkBack / Re: Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions Review

If I wrote this review, I would of included another con saying that the Pacman CE and Galaga Legions games are not the DX versions which are vastly superior to the regular versions.

But you didn't :P

Oh I know but seriously if you played the DX version, you won't want to go back to the regular versions.

I hope there's a DSi XL price drop on the horizon, I still play plenty ds and have tons of games on my backlog :D

I doubt it, because at this point Nintendo would want to convert potential DSi sales to 3DS sales especially with how 3DS is going to be $20 more than a DSi and the same price as an XL. It's more critical for Nintendo to grow the 3DS user base, and for consumers they esentially get the best of both worlds since 99% of all DSiWare is available on 3DS.

Also, at this point a DSi is not worth buying unless you're in the camp of how DS and DSi games played on 3DS look "worse" than they are when played on a DSi/DSi XL.

I see 3D and depth perfectly, but I do sometimes see ghosting but that could be part of a limitation of the 3D tech that 3DS uses. I don't feel sick using it but my eyes feel tired much faster after an extended use.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Nintendo 3DS Discussion
« on: July 03, 2011, 10:34:36 AM »
So street pass doesn't work while playing a 3DS game either?
Only DS Games.  Everything else it works on.  Though DSiWare I can't verify because I don't have any.  As long as the wireless is on an it says Streetpass on the indicator its working
I don't now if they cleared this up in the last patch but it also doesn't work when you are connected to the internet because it is using the wireless.

DSiWare doesn't work as well since the 3DS goes into DSi emulation mode for any DS/DSi game or function.

43
No, Nintendo has a great lineup of games coming which can tower over Sony's potential Vita launch. If Nintendo feels threatened, they will probably bundle a game with the system or do some kind of other added value bundle with some eShop game(s) pre-installed in the system.

Behold NWR staff writers and editors, the perfect E3 game preview. It's so awesome that the writing is Oscar worthy! LOL GTA4 review joke.

The RE:Revelations video only had one level of 3D as well. Anyways after looking at the trailer, I'm not interested in the movie (not that I was in the first place).

Dumb question - why do I have to drive an hour to Best Buy to download content onto my internet enabled 3DS when my at-home internet connection works pretty darn good.  And doesn't require me to drive an hour with gas at $4/gal?

Probably because Best Buy is sponsoring/paying for exclusive content. It also is beneficial for Best Buy since someone will be more likely to buy stuff when they go to Best Buy for the exclusive content.
