TalkBack / Re: Wii Mini Has No SD Card Slot
« on: December 02, 2012, 09:10:42 PM »
Regarding the Macs, to be fair Apple has been gradually moving away from optical media and going digital only. Hell, a lot of PC manufactures are going digital only and are treating optical drives as a USB peripheral.

How much space does Wii mode on Wii U give you for Wii stuff? Is it limited to the same as a real Wii has, or do you have the entire Wii U internal memory open to you?
It was my understanding that Wii Mode's "internal" memory is actually stored as a 512MB file on the SD card.

Nope, part of the Wii U memory is partitioned for Wii mode. The 512MB file on the SD card only comes into play during the transfer process where the transfer app makes a virtual Wii internal memory file so it can transfer everything perfectly fine as-is.

My ID is Flamesofchaos.

As a tip, if you search for the Nintendo ID in Miiverse, you will be able to send the person a request to add you instead of waiting for people to mutually add you!

TalkBack / Re: Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure Review

There's one big thing I don't understand about this review. Where is the author's backup of the games not feeling fully developed?   If you're going to say something, back up your statement with facts and not keep it baseless.

I'm not sure if this reviewer lacks experience in the music or rhythm game genre, but there's nothing broken about the scoring system in Rhythm Theif, in the beginning portions of the songs, the penalties are much minor while towards the end of the song are much severe especially if you mess up a rather big combo.

It's actually easy to do, register with Square Enix if you don't have a Square Enix account, have the site do the QR code and scan the QR on your 3DS.

While yes you can only have three skills, you can quickly change your mapped skills by tapping on the skill icon on the touch screen.

While the game is fun, I had one big issue  with the game, which is when you hit the gold cap (which is easy to achieve), its impossible to sell items to lighten your load, only to drop items. My other issue is that the game ends too quickly, so for a dungeon crawler its rather short.

Thumbs down to this review, and one of the most disappointing reviews I ever read from NWR. This is one of the most original music games ever released since the Rhythm Heaven series. The fusion of a music game with an original narrative, along with some elements of Professor Layton and Minigames make this game a must own on 3DS.

It works, the important thing is you need to have the directories (folder) locations as they exactly were on the old SD card.

Nintendo World Store in NYC sells that kind of stuff.

There is still one high profile WiiWare game coming one, not exclusive but still high profile. Retro City Rampage.

I was going by what i've seen on other sites and heard on RFN, I never tried it myself.

You can't always trust the internet!

Nope, can't get him back. Yes, this is normal. Same with the gold Iwata Japan got. If you send to the Mii Maker, they are gone from StreetPass Plaza and you can't get them back.

Actually you can get them back. I did it so that it's moved to the Mii Maker then in the Mii Maker once you select that Mii, there's an option to move him back to the plaza at the caveat that they are listed as "by invite" instead of the normal info you see when you get a Mii.

I think that the CPP is a good investment, especially if you are getting MGS3 for 3DS since the peacewalker style controls suck. (I played Peacewalker on the PSP extensively and hated the controls).

I just hope Capcom somehow adds online in the international versions of 3G.

All the Mario and Sonic demo did was reinstate my thoughts about not to get the game.

This is a completely selfish wish of me but... I'd really, really, be happy with a Tower Defense game at launch, probably downloadable?

I'm for this as long as Nintendo gets Q-Games to develop it. PixelJunk Monsters and Starship Defense are two of my favorite Tower Defense games that were ever made.

I've read that Sony has publishers keep their PSN numbers confidential as well. I'm sorry but Icon Games is full of whiners  and attention whores. Their total output of WiiWare games all have been poor to mediocre at best.

It's been available for at least a week or two now,  since I transfered it from my DSi to my 3DS a little over a week ago. But yes, this game is the best pinball game available on DSiWare.

That doesn't preclude anything.

Why would you say that?

A Siliconera interview with one of the BB:CSII developers confirmed that Nintendo does not make sleep mode mandatory for software.
That's a real shame. They spend so much time in the quality check process making sure logos are in their proper place and such, but not that important components are implemented? On the other hand, I'm not sure why the firmware doesn't handle this; it doesn't seem like something that devs should have to worry about anyway.

I think it has to be done on a software level since I believe sleep mode is disabled during online multiplayer.

Quick question related to the other Warioware releases.  Do they also have the crazy story and characters as in the first one?  I do enjoy the little games but I don't think I'll really get as much enjoyment out of them without the crazy vibe associated with the environment and story.

I would say so, but the characters are consistent for the most part with every release so they usually re-appear though sometimes they add or remove some characters per release. You should try Made in Wario, the Wii WarioWare game. WarioWare Touched for the DS  is the mediocre game of the series but still enjoyable.

Okay, I'm confused... Sleep Mode doesn't work - but when I closed the system while playing Mario Kart, the screens and sound shut off?

Same thing happens wit BlazBlue CSII for 3DS, if Sleep Mode is not implemented, the game still "runs" normally even though the sound shuts off and the screens shuts off. So the battery drains almost as much as if you're actively playing the title. A Siliconera interview with one of the BB:CSII developers confirmed that Nintendo does not make sleep mode mandatory for software.

Awesome, I want a Pinball game for 3DS and this one sounds like its a winner. Though I'm anticipating this Pinball game more since it looks much more ambitious

I thought that NWR review policy forbids putting the price of the title into consideration in a review....
