Kojima’s Eclipse Made Official

The “secret GCN game from Hideo Kojima” we all thought was a hoax looks like it could be actually coming…

Gameforms has just run a translated report from the German site Gamefront which stated that in a press packet given at the Game Giant Fair in France yesterday, the game Eclipse was listed as a GameCube release by Konami.  In the months prior and following this year’s E3 show, there were rumors of a secret GameCube game from Metal Gear Solid creator, Hideo Kojima called “Eclipse.”  However, this news came from uncertain sources and was widely discredited as rumor.  Now seemingly confirmed, Eclipse will mark the first work Kojima has done on a Nintendo system since the days of the original NES.  Almost nothing is known about Eclipse, though it has been described by Kojima as a game focused on the family unit and telling the story of a son trying to "eclipse" his father's legacy.  We’ll keep you posted as new details emerge.
