If you're wondering about that Scene-It controller that MS showed off...

It's a DIRECT RIP-OFF of the Buzz! (trivia game) controller for the PS2 that Sony released.

Buzz is a perfect example of Sony's stable of potential non-game hits, has sold millions upon millions of copies, and is available so far only in Europe. I also attended a "games for the other 90%" seminar at GDC, where a developer for Buzz explained the history and thinking behind the game.

Basically, the game was a mad success. It should be obvious why MS is copying it: it wants to never let up on Sony, pressuring them on all fronts by stealing (appropriating) features and buzz whenever they can.

Thanks for the updates, Mashiro.

COD4 looks pretty sweet. That's the only standout for me. They have a good volume of "decent" games though.

Disney is firmly planted in Blu-ray, so don't hold out much hope there.
"wow."

To me, the CoD 4 demo looked pretty, but very, very dull.  Cyber Simon Says, IMO.

Well I've known about it for almost 6 months now, it was slipped to me when I was talking to my mentor at MS, I did not need to sign an NDA either (he also revealed there is another in the works for the future). Also in regards to Disney movies on HD-DVD, I was thinking more along the lines of Pirates of the Carribean coming to HD-DVD, not the animations.

Gamespot's quality was Youtube level horribleness... but at least they didn't cut to any commercials, lol.

G4's online stream was pretty good, as well as commercial free.  I watched about the second half of the thing, and quality seemed fine.

So you recommend G4 when the Nintendo conference comes on (Gamespot's did suck).

I don't know which was better, but the G4 one did it's job well.  If I were you, I'd start with the G4 feed, and if you didn't like it, switch back over to the GS one.  You might lose about a minute, but really, nothing special happens within the early minutes of these things.

What?!

Didn't Miyamoto play a symphony in the opening minutes of last year's E3?

Yeah, for Nintendo events, the first minutes are CRUCIAL.

While there wasn't really any news, I think MS's conference went pretty well.  They showed that they had a lot of great games coming very soon and had some good demos.  - Although I don't know why they showed so much time simply crawling through fields in COD4.

As for the G4 thing - we had that going at the same time as the feeds and since a lot of us used to work there we were in contact with people there too - it was a pretty shocking and horrible decision and one that will ensure that the majority of their audience will go elsewhere to watch the other conferences.

Well, the RE5 trailer was so-so.
Damn, am I really gonna have to buy a PS360 to play this game?!

I'm holding out for it Ghisy, I'm somewhat confident sales of UC will be good enough to make them bring it over ::crosses fingers::.

On a side note I guess I would recommend doing what Bloodworth did if you can. Watch it on G4 while watching the internet stream, so if it cuts to a commercial you can just watch the stream and not miss a beat =)

That is, if you have a TV near your computer.

Edit: Also, if anything, would we really WANT to play a RE that doesn't use the Wii controller? Honestly, I am spoiled now. I don't know if I would enjoy RE as much without a Wiimote.
