Title: Taco Bell Doritos Logos Taco
Post by: ShyGuy on March 10, 2012, 12:48:39 AM
Just had one, the regular not the supreme.

It's not bad. The Doritos flavor is pretty mild. The cardboard sleeve works decently.

What did everyone else think?

(Not my hand. Or my picture. Or my exact taco)

Its your Butler isn't it.

I like to try one.  Been waiting for it to release.
If I only had an Experimental Mountain Dew to drink with it.

I ordered two of the Supreme.  Ate them, then ordered two more.

Can't wait for the Cool Ranch ones to come out. :D

BTW, you're topic title is an injustice. They are called Taco Bell Doritos Locos Tacos.

Made it a point to try these yesterday they are not bad.  Spices up the blander portions of the Taco.  Talking about Bland.  I hate the new Wrapper and Color Scheme that is White with Black letters.  It screams Generic Food.

While I have no white-gloved man servant to provide me with food, I did score a big win...

We have no Taco Bell in my little, crappy town.  Closest one is about 45 minutes away.
Yet, here I am, at home, with a fresh, tasty, Doritos Taco.

How did I conjure up such magicks?

I was at a Taco Bell over the weekend.  Placed my order, then asked the cashier... "Hey... this might sound weird... but can I buy the Doritos shells by themselves?"

"Umm..." pokes around at the register "... well... Oh, hey, it looks like we have an option for it!"

Thirty Cents each.

I bought ten.

My wife made tacos last night. :D

Never had one, but I'm going to hate on them anyways. Why?

Because they took away my favorite item in order to make way for that bullshit of a taco: The Beefy Crunch Burrito.

I gotta hate on most the menu by that logic, because they got rid of my all time favorite the Chilito (Chili Cheese Burrito for you Young'ns)

Agree, love the Beefy Crunch Burrito.

Anyway the Dorito Taco is ok, not sure it is worth the 30-40 cents extra though.

If we're going to live in the past of discontinued Taco Bell items, let's go with their old Cinnamon Nacho things... those were awesome.

Fajita Grilled Stuff Burrito was the best thing they ever had. When they took it away, I died a little it inside.

I gotta admit, I like there ads with the spanish cover songs. The one playing a spanish version of Big Pappa makes me lose my ****; something about hearing them try to rap in spanish so fast just to stay within the rhythm of the song is funny to me.

That ad bothers me. Such bad rap.

So I tried the Ranch Doritos Loco taco. Not sure where I stand on it.

That doesn't sound good. I'm still kinda eager to try it myself though.

Never been a big fan of Cooler Ranch Doritos anyway. Ranch in general is off-putting to me, it's like Grey Poupon for white trash...no offense.

I actually found out I love Grey Poupon a little while ago. Bought some on a goof to see what it was like and really enjoyed it.

Ranch must be an acquired American taste. Tried it once and I have no idea what it tasted like except I know I don't like it. The obsession must run deep since I see photos of people in bath tubs of the stuff.

Ranch dressing is good, and cool ranch Doritos are pretty good. Not sure if I want the cool rancho Doritos Los act though.

I knew a guy who put ranch dressing on everthing. French fries, sandwiches, pizza...

Ranch dressing is buttermilk, mayo and spices. (Onion, Dill, Black Pepper, Garlic, Chives)

You can get varieties without Buttermilk or Mayo for that matter.

What do they use as a base instead?

Well the one at Ryan's uses just Mayo.
The one I get at Greek restraunts I think use an oil or something.  I know its not milk based.

I've also seen it made using sour cream.

It's probably yogurt...which is milk.

Anyway, the grossest thing is Ranch dressing commercials. It's like the salad or carrot or bread or whatever it is at the time is a porn stars face, and they just Bukkake Ranch dressing all over it...like a cup of dressing per square inch - yet a serving is like 2 Tbsp.

Hahaha reminds me of the time I threw ranch dressing in this chicks face. She loved it (and the ranch too). As you could tell, she deserves no respect.

On topic, gotta say those ranch doritos taco commercials are hilarious. The Spanish version of the songs are the perfect mixture of satire and cover.
