So Tiger 10 and Punch Out are still doing well it seems. Nice. Pitty Conduit is nowhere to be seen, maybe it will pop up in the top 50 or in the Wii top 10? We know that has been selling consistently as reported by the publisher.

Why does the Wii continue to get shafted so that money can be spent to support the PS3? That money would be better spent developing for the Wii and down porting to the PS2. Sony needs a miracle and I'm not sure that the Go/Slim combo are gonna provide that.

PSP Go will be a failure IMO. The high price ($250) alone will kill any chance of it competing with the DS. Same thing with the rumored PS3-slim if they keep it at the same price as the current PS3. CheapyD and Wombat had a good point in the CAGcast, the size of the PS3 has nothing to do with the low sales of the system and that is the only real benefit know about it (even if it restored PS2 compatibility, I doubt that would help much).

I'm sure that the Slim is coming, and I'm pretty sure it will retail @ $399 w/o PS2 BC.
Sony is bleeding right now and really can't afford to take a loss on their biggest selling product in hope of making the money back later on software. Even their software isn't doing all that hot in comparison with the 360 (Wii & DS too).

PSP Go is an attempt to sell more hardware at a profit and caters to all the PSP owners that have already hacked the system to death and don't use the UMD drive anyway.
At the asking price, I expect this to be a really slow seller and don't personally see the appeal for it above a regular PSP. It's missing functionality(UMD), brings nothing new to the table(built in flash.... why not just use the memory sticks you already have?) and at a higher price. Why buy it?

Sony is in a bad place right now, and I would be surprised if MS doesn't try to capitalize on it somehow. Force Sony to prematurely make another move that they weren't ready to make, and make them do it while it will cost them more than they want to pay for it (like rushing PS3 to market even though the components were still too expensive).

MS could put out the next Xbox whenever the hell they want.  They're really in control of how long this gen is at this point.  Sony can't make the next move, Nintendo won't, that just leaves MS in that perfect position.  Although, they'd still need to work out their own timing, they could easily **** over Sony.

I don't think that people use modded their PSP's will be getting the PSP Go. The PSP-3000 has yet to be hacked (at least the last time  I checked, which was a few months ago), so I don't think the PSP Go will be hacked anytime soon after it comes out.

As for Microsoft, I don't think they are in any position to control this gen. That is up to Nintendo.

Nintendo is in a position of comfort, they want to milk their position for as long a possible, & I guarantee you they could release the WiiHD tomorrow if they wanted to.

MS is eager to hit Sony when it hurts, and releasing the Nextbox360 before Sony can put out a PS4 is the best way to make Sony continue to bleed. THe Xbox only lasted for 4 years and next year is #5 for the 360. MS isn't really in a rush right now to push the next console since they are finally making a profit on the 360 (through debt shuffling), but I bet they have the Nextbox in the finalizing stages and ready to go at the first sign of Sony trying to get their legs underneath them.

If MS has already developed their next gen system, and is just sitting on it until the time is right to deliver the killing blow to Sony, then hopefully they'll have lots and lots of idle time to perfect their quality control!

I think Mario Kart games have such legs because Nintendo doesn't release sequels on the same platform.  Every other company would have released 5 Mario Kart DS games by now too milk it dry and double or triple dip the customers.  Soon everyone would get tired and the next iteration wiould do much worse.

Nintendo releases it once and has it be the definitive cart experience.  If someone likes a game like that there is one in the store and no confusion or huge discounts and trade ins from the previous version.  When the next console comes around people don't feel burnt out on the experience and everybody are ready for more on the new system.

Imagine if the Tony Hawk games were released once per system.  They would be special and wouldn't seem like old hat.  I see Nintendo's strategy as long term management of their properties while example like Tony Hawk is trying to suck out as much money as quickly as possible.
