Nintendo Gaming / Re: I wanted to see Switch Infrastructure at E3
« on: June 29, 2017, 11:12:29 AM »
The announcement of the delay of the paid service would have been a sign that they wouldn't have anything to show at E3 in terms of network infrastructure. Plus if they refuse to show their mobile games at E3 I seriously doubt they will show anything about the network at the show and leave that for a Nintendo direct/press release type of thing.

Added for future games like Dragon Quest X, most likely.
And the possibility for FFXIV since supposedly the director is in talks with Nintendo, all he requires is allowing "cross platform" play, which doesn't seem as much of a hurdle anymore.

TalkBack / Re: The SNES Classic Is Not The Product We Need
« on: May 25, 2017, 01:52:58 AM »
This is similar to what I thought when I heard about the reason why Nintendo discontinued the NES classic. It just wasn't profitable. A machine whose only purpose was to be a "Classic" NES/SNES/N64 VC machine would eliminate the need to pay a licensing fee to the owners of the games for each machine shipped instead would change it to each license "sold". Heck the games for those are so small you could probably opt for a small amount of flash and "stream" the titles.

For a hook they could off a few of their own games already on the machine for free.

The dock for the controller seems to up its range and battery life considering it seems like the blue light stayed on after you take them out. The Pro-controller still has the D-pad while the joycon have a spilt for easier multiplayer.

As least so far Nintendo has hit all the right notes with the unveiling in terms of communicating what it is. It seems what the Wii U was being hyped up by people in being before the unveiling and the leak of the Project Café. Just the small sampling of games they showed make it a day one for me. (Plus considering I get my taxes around that time that is what it is going for.

As for the touch screen it seems to still have it considering some of the developers are mobile developers, and rumors have that the SDKs have a multi-touch screen.

And his friend was huge, I mean like huge.

And can wait for tomorrow personally it can be an etch-a-sketch at this point and I would be happy. And is it just me or is Mario enacting the shower scene of Psycho.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Predict When Nintendo Will Unveil the NX!

I will go with September 21st.

Well Nintendo has just got another US patent, this time for a achievement system/game recording. Though it has a slight chance of being retrofitted for the 3DS and Wii U, we will probably see it on the NX.

It was obvious it was going to happen, but still yay, and it is in 7 months which is relatively close.

« on: May 13, 2015, 12:18:03 PM »
Well like they announced yesterday it was just an announcement for what they were doing for E3 and the workout thing was a part of it. A run down for those of you who don't want to take time to watch the video.

Returning: The Digital Event and the Treehouse presentations. Mario Maker at Best Buy.
And the Nintendo World Championships will be revived to replace the Smash Tourney.

And sigh at the #trintroll hash tag....

Even though they haven't marked it off yet the two new stretch goals have been reached. I will pledge later to get the console version, need to get paid first.

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Tomorrow

Famitsu DS+Wii was suppose to have a "major" announcement soon for a Nintendo platform, I wonder if that will be covered in this.

I have a feeling from this that one Nintendo will a more fully featured account system from this on one hand. But the majority of the mobile games will come out as an expansion on what Sega was trying to do with the VMU where the games are delightful time wasters but focused on doing something that can only be utilized by buying the full game.

For example Animal Crossing.

The mobile game will feature a character that you can import from either the 3DS game or the upcoming Wii U game or you can make one but the game is a bunch of minigames, which isn't presented in a bad way, with the intent of winning articles for your house and making bells that can only be used if you port them to the Wii U game.

And we may get a taste of what to expect from the NX by who they adapt the Wii U to fit into this. I have a feeling that the HTML5 framework they already have implemented on the console will lend itself nicely to integrating it to the Wii U with a system update for the 3DS or maybe just the New 3DS coming shortly after where things like cross buy will become the norm for the smaller games thanks to the new system. (Heck they may have you link your phone into the account so you can get the free mobile games)

It's understandable, but there are different ways around having to rewrite the game, plus since they are indie it would be a rewrite into C# or possibly java, and they all have their own messy aspects to the process, so it would be like rewriting the game. C# is used in programming for the Unity engine and java is usable for HTML5 but I don't know the particulars to Nintendo's HTML5 framework, which are the only two tools available to indie development. But in short it would be a pain in the rear messy project that most indies would rather avoid.

Kind of off topic but I seen a poster for it in Wal Mart and they had Tiger Lily listed incorrectly as the The Fox. They really need to do something about their advertising partners.

TalkBack / Re: How to Make the Best Zelda TV Show
« on: February 07, 2015, 08:48:56 AM »
I believe at least Zelda will be featured. Because if they were doing the agents of shield thing there wouldn't be any real reason to license the Zelda franchise because after all most people associate LoZ with Zelda and Link and a show like Agents would only pander to the Zelda super fan. There are ways to make make Link mute so he wouldn't talk. (Vow of silence since it is a fantasy setting.) So focusing on Zelda as a character makes sense.  Though I am alright with them having him talk since several games imply he has conversations.

I was discussing this else where and just threw out a working framework:
When Zelda's sickly, because face it the father always have to be sickly, father's kingdom is threated by the dark lord Ganon. Zelda takes he body guard Impa and childhood friend Link. In search of the legendary treasures of the gods. And Tinkle can be the creepy guide they get that turns up to point them in the right direction and provide comedy releief. They would run into other characters in the Zelda franchise that would join them for a few episodes to help with finding going though the various dungeons. I would flesh it out more but have to go to work.

In that set up you have three (four) main character and can pander to the fans by having characters come and go as they travel looking for a resolution.

TalkBack / Re: Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem Still Exists
« on: January 29, 2015, 03:30:30 PM »
And usually when Nintendo comes out and says the game still exists that means it has a good chance of being released though there are a few of examples of this not happening.

I am looking forward to the game once it releases.

I'm currently playing Heroes of the Storm, I was a sucker and bought into the beta, though the character pack and mount is about worth it. It's an enjoyable game.... I wish I had people I know to play with though.

Somehow not mentioning SMTxFE before now is like an insult to me.
I got a feeling that what was "done" with that game was used to make the new 3DS game.

As for the other games mentioned I think they are going to be summerish releases.

TalkBack / Re: New Fire Emblem for 3DS Reportedly Launching This Year
« on: January 20, 2015, 10:27:06 AM »
Personally this kind of makes me worried about FE x SMT. I know it has been awhile since Awakening but the turn around just feels a little fast which makes me wonder if when the Atlas Merger happened the game fell through and they just used what was developed for that game to make this one.

TalkBack / Re: Club Nintendo to Be Discontinued
« on: January 20, 2015, 08:59:29 AM »
Kind of figured something like this would happen. When they started to make the Nintendo Network more predominate. And with all the different regional clubs it was probably easier to trash everything and introduce on program that covers all regions. This may indicate a move to remove the region locking also, at least that is my hope based on what some in Nintendo have publicly said.

The new program will probably be a mixture of what we saw with the different clubs and the ddp in some form.

My brother got this version preordered, since he Fire Emblem se 3DS met with an unfortunate accident. Now I hope we can get the data transfered.

I got $120 worth out of the ddp, kind of hoping they expand it, it was a pretty good customer appreciation program.
