As of 9 a.m. PT today and until 9 p.m. PT July 1, VVVVVV is only $5 on the eShop.

In case you didn't know, VVVVVV is available on the North American eShop for a $3 discount, bringing it's normal $8 price down to $5. The sale began at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET today, and will run until 9 p.m. PT/12 a.m. ET on July 1/2.

This game is the second "Game of the Weekend" sale that Nintendo of America is doing for the 3DS eShop. The inaugural game was Super Mario Land.

While I already have this on PC, i'm glad to see downloadable titles get discounts on Nintendo's hardware.

This is a great game. I bought it off Steam for $1.49 a while back. which is why I can't bring myself  to pay 8 or even 5 dollars for it on 3DS.  Cheap? Maybe. But sorry I just feel 8 dollars ir ridiculous. The sale price needs to become the normal price; then discount that price down 3 dollars and I would consider.


Either way I can't knock Nintendo for trying to give us a deal. Hopefully they will make sales on eShop and VC more common practice.

Wow! That's a helluva deal for one of the absolute, best hardcore games on the E-Shop; must buy for sure.

Remember that the 3DS version has a crapton of bonus content (5 whole new game worlds I believe).

I think I might pick this game up now. Never had a reason to before, doesn't really seem like my type of game, but now I might give it a shot. You never know, it could grow on me.


Is the 3DS version significantly better than the Steam version though?

I'm sad I missed Super Mario Land.  I went to get it on Sunday I think it was and it was back to $5...

Been wanting it for a while, had just over $5 left on my account. Seemed like the fates were telling me to go for it. Not sure if I like it yet, but we will see. If they keep this up I will have to grab another point card at work.

Snagged it last night. Been meaning to get it since it came out but I'm glad I waited. Loving the game so far, only about an hour in. It's, um, hard.

I got it yesterday, & so far it's pretty cool but I don't see why people gush over it as they have. It just seems one of those games that's only popular because it's hard & the music is catchy.

Although it was a good experience and the music was great, I tend to agree that VVVVVV is overrated.  Of course, I would say the same thing about most indie games - nice concepts, fun for a bit, but not something I want to invest large amounts of time with.


That said, I do think that it's an excellent way to spend $5 in the eShop.  The sale price is exactly what I feel comfortable paying in this case.

Have you played VVVVVV since the 2.0 update? It should have all the content (except for stereoscopic visuals) and more (level editor); it's just that not all of the extra stages are built in, but you can still download and install them.

There's another incentive to buy this today rather than tomorrow-- the Club Nintendo coin value will go down by 5.

Just downloaded this. Never played the game before. Looking foward to try it out. But trying to work a 100 percent in Super Mario 3D Land also playing RE: R and Zelda Skyward Sword.
