Pandora's Tower Coming to North America?
« on: April 11, 2012, 04:10:13 PM »

Pre-orders might start on the day of The Last Story's release in June, according to a GameStop manager.

Pandora's Tower is coming to North America, according to an audio recording of a conversation with a GameStop manager from NinTemple.

We're currently seeking to independently verify this news (feel free to send in your own findings to us). The recording explains that an internal GameStop message told employees to mention The Last Story and Pandora's Tower to customers when they picked up Xenoblade Chronicles last Friday. It also said that pre-orders for Pandora's Tower will begin in June when The Last Story comes out.

However, the recording also presents some contradictory comments, saying that "a company" picked up the rights to all three Operation Rainfall games and is putting them out one after the other. It can be assumed the company in question is Xseed, but they are only confirmed to be publishing The Last Story. Nintendo of America published Xenoblade Chronicles in North America.

Additionally, the GameStop manager says both games are GameStop exclusives. Once again, one of the games is (Xenoblade) while the other (The Last Story) is set to be a wide release.

Signs are looking good for prospective Pandora's Tower fans, but there is still no 100% confirmation that the game is coming to North America.

Haha we are over here on NWR. I am so happy.

About those contradictory comments it could be another company altogether other then XSEED that is picking up the rights for all 3 games for the Operation Rainfall games or even one individual or group. I am going to look into that aspect a bit more.

The GameStop employee was probably just talking about Xenoblade and Pandora's Tower.

In any case this is the game that I wanted most out of the 3 operation rainfall games and I plan on proving that this is coming to the US without a shadow of a doubt.

Why would another company pick up the rights for all 3 games when NoA has already published one and Xseed is confirmed to be publishing another? That doesn't make a lick of sense.

I'd say it's very possible the GS manager just mixed up facts, but the inconsistency makes me a tiny bit hesitant. It's just easy to assume he mixed up facts and PT is coming to NA as it is to assume he mixed up facts and it isn't coming to NA.

Something being said at GameStop hardly means it's true. I'd be excited if Pandora's Tower does get released here though.  I know it's not getting the same love that Xenoblade and The Last Story have received, but the more I see/hear about the game the more interesting it looks.

I'm thinking, worst case scenario, this info can be used by others to get a 100% confusion-free confirmation from some other location.

For instance, now people can start asking about the specifics this manager mentioned like being instructed to mention TLS/PT when Xenoblade arrived, taking pre-orders when TLS arrives, or just the overall blanket deal for all 3 games.

And those are some pretty meaty leads if you ask me.
... which I suppose you shouldn't since I authored the report ^_^

So happy news and grains of salt for everyone!!

If it does come out here, then that's great. Hopefully it will sport the black colour Wii case.  ;)

I find it funny that NWR got the scoop, but I didn't even realize it until I was linked here by another site.... how embarrassing for me.

I added this to the list though. Hope it turns out true, as I put this as least likely by a country mile in comparison to the other 2 titles. Next we're gonna hear that Project HAMMER is gonna get an Xmas release with pre-orders starting on release day of Pandora's Tower (another GS Exclusive).... gamers will have to rethink their hate towards GS momentarily.

3 for 3? Oh I do hope so.

Now Op Rainfall needs to turn its sights on the most criminally overlooked, unreleased in NA, game of all time:

Disaster: Day Of Crisis.

That game would also be welcomed in my Wii collection, but is it really worth fifty dollars? What Nintendo of America could do is retool the British version of the game and then sell it directly off of their website for twenty dollars. However, if they did this then it would appear to be more logical for them to jst ignore the game and expect importers to modify their systems since the game was so universally panned by reviewers.
