Gonna go with a more typical caption length for today's, haha...

Freedom Planet

The first walk with the new family pet convinced them: they should've gone with the kitten.

The short-lived but high-budget Japanese reality television show "Let's Go, Miyamoto!" followed Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto as he wandered aimlessly around his home and neighborhood in search of inspiration for the next big Nintendo hit. Despite only two episodes ever being produced, the live-action program managed to attract an enthusiastic and faithful global following. Following its swift and (some would say inevitable) cancellation, dedicated fans attempted to continue Mr. Miyamoto's adventures online—in puppet form (as seen above). This fan-led iteration of the production, which featured a puppet version of Mr. Miyamoto playfully driving scale-model trains and teaching his pet piranha plants to eat turnips instead of people, eventually eclipsed its predecessor in popularity for a short time before drawing the attention of the Nintendo legal team. In a surprising turn of events, however, the fan-led program—which eventually came to be known colloquially as "Shiggy Fix"—won over most members of the legal team to their cause, and legal action was halted. "It's just so… so cute," said one source who spoke on condition of anonymity. The producers of the series continue this day to produce episodes, expanding its original cast of Miyamoto and his piranha plants to include a red Pikmin, a spider monkey and the hand of an unnamed member of the production crew. Asked for comment on his likeness being used in such a manner, the enigmatic Mr. Miyamoto chuckled, sat down at a nearby baby grand piano and played a surprisingly faithful and moving rendition of the intro music to the original Animal Crossing.

Gaming budget is sort of nonexistent these days... Had planned to pick up Majora's Mask, but I happened on a copy of  Avalon Code and picked that up instead. It's gotten pretty hard to find, so when I found a complete copy I couldn't help jumping on it (so far I'm really enjoying it despite its various flaws). :\ Ah, well, should be easy to find MM for awhile yet, so I'll hopefully be able to pick it up later.

This is my first time playing Majora's Mask since its original N64 release, so it's practically a new game with some memories of locations and events. Having fun with it, and trying not to use a guide to do everything.

This'll be my first foray back into Termina since the N64 days, as well! I have fond, if fuzzy, memories. Looking forward to it, whenever that may be. :)

NWR Mafia Games / Re: Mafia LXV: Dead Thread. Low Tier Characters.

Chibi robo is running low on charge. He looks all around for a plug. Can't find one. He's flashing yellow and clanking. Can no longer walk, battery power too low. With his last watt of strength, he picks a nearby flower and admires its rainbow petals. And then Chibi Robo powers down.

Forever.

57
Haha, that's a lot of edits, Hypotheliciously. But I think I'm with you on the final one.
Vote Ceric

58
Chibi and I think it's worth keeping Hypotheliciously around for tonight. Even if we later decide that he is likely mafia, we can worry about it tomorrow or the day after. Even if he is mafia, he has two other comrades out there seeking utter townie destruction. We are not without potential targets and clues.

Now it's just a matter of finding those clues… hmm, finding clues, finding clues…

Er, Chibi, you're small and unobtrusive! Make yourself useful!

59
Chibi may have voted for Hypotheliciously last night, but I'm also not sure we should vote him off just yet. Will withhold today's vote till a little later, I think… Chibi agrees.

Can't comment in the other thread now, but I wanted to let Pokepal know that I thought the Charizard vs. Duckhunt dog etc. was hilarious and amazing. *slow clap*

61
Have we done the math? If another townie gets voted out tonight and the mafia kills another, we're down to 11 players, 4 being mafia. That's a 7-4 game and I don't like those odds. Mess the vote up once and things get dire.

If Pokepal turns out to be innocent, I think we need to look hard at voting records.

62
It seems that Poor Pokepal has been picking up the votes of late. I'm not sure I'm on that bandwagon. But I think someone showed their hand earlier.

Chibi also votes that we not vote out thatguy tonight.

63
Nuclearspeed, does that box employ timelord technology? Becuase if not, I think only Chibi can fit under there (he's tiny).

Mop it up, if you are a townie, I'm impressed with your authentic Pichu role-playing in attempting to vote me out (hurt me while hurting yourself).

Alright, ejamer, I'll cancel out my nuclearspeed vote for now. I'm really not sure who to vote for at this point...

64
I'm so glad you're back in the game Decoyman.

Chibi-Robo forever.

Chibi Robo, you are so tiny and cute and stealthy, is it possible you've got some hunches from all your lurking through back alleys and under tables and such?

Participation, participACTION!

In light of the comments above, changing to Smash (Vote) lolmonade. Remember: it's important to stay active if you want to maintain your strength and balance.

Haha, I see what you're saying, but I'll play Miasmo's advocate. I'm no Lolmonade apologist, but I'm also not ready to label someone "inactive" and worthy of a vote until it's been longer than half a day.

I'm going to withhold my vote until a little bit later…

edit: Ohai Lolmonade!

68
Chibi, I think ROB could use a little cheering up.

*brings ROB a flower*

69
Ok, I'm not going to be able to play this whole game without saying anything, so I'm going to serve as a (hopefully) less annoying Telly, bossing Chibi Robo around. Like so:

Chibi Robo, say hello to everyone.

Yay, familiar faces! :D

Changing my character up (sorry, Pikachu)! The time has come, after too many snubs to count, for this new challenger to approach, arguably the cutest of all pint-size metallic challengers:

Chibi-Robo enters the fray!

72
Let's do this.

Pikachu, I choose you!

Oh hey, it's decoyman! I don't think I've seen you around here since the haydays on the Mafia games. How you been mate? Will we be seeing more of you around these parts?
Haha, yes, hi! It's been awhile. We'll see if I stick around… I'm guessing my status will be a bit more than "completely non-existent" for at least the near future. :) (doubt I'll ever be as active as I once was, though I might have a mafia game in me yet…)

In on-topic news, I got my copy from ebay, and it's great! I'm, much to my homework's detriment, completely hooked. Honestly, it's sort of like I haven't had candy in a long time, and someone's like, HERE HAVE A BAG and then I eat it all at once. It's sorta bad.

I wasn't sold on the whole train travel thing initially (like, when I heard about the game's premise when it was originally announced long ago), but it's interesting. Reminds me a lot of Windwaker's sailing, and like sailing there's good and bad. I haven't had a chance to upgrade my engine yet, but I'm hoping the others aren't just cosmetic or health-related, and that at least some make you go faster. Warping is fine, but I haven't figured out where everything takes me yet. I'd explore a bit more, but the story is whipping me this way and that "Gotta save so-and-so!" "Oh, we need to go here!" so I feel a little guilty just exploring and side-questing. Overall, though, good stuff (which is to be expected from a Zelda…)!

That's all assuming that Nintendo feeds the wheel-spinning hamsters that run Club Nintendo. Right now, Club Nintendo's dying as it lived: with the site continuously down.

qft – Site's still on-again, off-again. :\

I managed to get in a few times and neeeeaaaarrrrly check out with an item, and then Wario pops his stupid head up, all like, "SOMETHING WENT WRONG BUT DON'T WORRY WARIO'S TAKING GOOD CARE OF YOUR COINS FOR YOU"  :@

Thanks everyone for the advice. Gamestop was a strikeout for me, as were all local game shops and dept./toy/electronics stores and craigslist, but good ol' ebay came through. I feel really fortunate to have nabbed a complete used copy for $30. Obviously that means new/sealed ones are going for much more.

Mop it up, that rustling sound you hear coming from your game shelf is the sweet, sweet sound of money growing.
