The Day 0 thread is a thread to review rules.  See who is living and Dead, and any general information you might need for Mafia.


This is also the place to claim your identity for the game and start conversing and planning for tomorrow…the opening day.


I live in South Korea so timing is going to be odd.  I will start Day One Monday night around 10pm.  The Day will end Tuesday Afternoon 12pm. (South Korean Time)  Then you have 30-40 minutes to post night actions.   Tuesday 12 pm Korea time is 10pm Monday EST.  Central Time: 9pm…and so on. 


I know it is early for days to end, but I hope it will be ok.

General Rules Post


Each day the townies are trying to vote out the monsters and kill them before the monsters kill everybody. 


To cast a vote you must bold the name of who you are voting for.  For example:

Any vote can be changed by either unbolding the vote or deleting the vote in the message.  Players can only vote once in the public thread. 


If there is a tie in the vote, then night actions will determine who is killed.  If there is a tie because of night actions, all players involved in the tie will be killed.  This will not be announced until the start of the next day. 


Players are allowed to converse with each other and plan with each other in whatever means possible, NWR private message, Skype, Facebook, or in the general Godzilla mafia Day threads.  However, players must vote once every 2 days or they will die if they are townie…and if they have a special role their identity will be revealed. 


The Mafia's goal is to kill all the townies and Godzilla.  If Godzilla is killed, then the Monsters win if there is the same number of Monsters as there are townies.  Example:  3 Mafia are alive and 3 townies are alive…then Mafia wins.


In this game there will be 3 Mafia/Monster players, 1 Killer/Godzilla Role, and 7 townies including 2 special roles.


The Characters:
Mafia:
Ghidorah: The Godfather.  Appears as a townie if investigated.  Send night actions to kill one townie.
Gigan: The Vote Canceler:  Gigan can pick 2 players those players votes are canceled.  The next day the players whose votes were canceled will be announced.
Rodan: The ability Canceler:  Rodan can cancel one players ability.  This is not announced publicly.  But, the player whose ability was canceled will get a private message informing them they have been cancelled. 

The monsters can only perform one night action each day.  So they can either use Gigan or Rodan's special ability, OR the Godfather can kill someone.  To use an ability you must send me a private message.  And the correct monster with the ability must send in the private message.  The last action I receive for the mafia will be the action I give the mafia. 

Townies:
EDF Soldier: The EDF Soldier has two abilities, but can only pick one per day. 
                    1)  The EDF Soldier can kill any one character as a night action, but if it is a townie the soldier dies too.
                    2)  The EDF can select one character and change their vote to another player.  This action will be revealed the next day.


EDF Scientist:  The EDF Scientist has two abilities, but can only pick one per day.
                    1) The Scientist can investigate one person as a night action and discover their identity.
                    2) The Scientist can protect one person from a night action death. 


Godzilla:  The Killer role.  Can kill one person each night.  Godzilla can do one hit per night.  Or save his kills, by not attacking.  Godzilla can only save 3 kills before he has to perform a night action.

After the last great war, the Earth Defense Force was given a global authority to defend the Earth from attack.


The nations of the world were finally unified after the alien invasion came to destroy all of humanity.


The Earth Defense Force was to be stationed on neutral territory and so a small island, no nation has claimed was chosen.  The EDF created its global base on Monster Island. 


For years there had been no activity from Godzilla and the monsters are believed to be extinct. 


20 years has passed since the station has been created.  The EDF continued to development weaponry and advanced science to better the world.  The nations contributed to its budget and the develops in science and energy were shared with all.  A new golden age of human peace has finally been achieved. 


The EDF scientists were able to the very power of life to create an energy source powerful enough to supply the world with energy until the harnessed power died.  Unfortunately, the number of animals on Earth was insufficient.  Until it was decided to clone the monsters from Monster Island.  On other living creatures on Earth could produce the quantity of energy needed.  And so the monsters were cloned and imprisoned within the EDF military base.


Rodan, Gigan and Ghidorah were remarkable specimens.  They process of harnessing their energy seemed not to deplete their life or hurt them at all.  Calculations showed these creatures could be used for over 100s of years. 


However, not everyone was happy with this new status quo.  Protest groups around the world rallied to end the oppression of these endangered animals.  Others wanted the animals destroyed and for science to go back to using traditional energy sources.  The special interest groups began to gain more and more power.  Weekly debates showed past destruction from these monsters and Godzilla.  The death tolls and property damages assessed into the Trillions of dollars.  How can the world and the EDF risk Earth's safety and future on these animals?
