First episode was better. But agree there was less wit and more stupid humor then usual.

Why does every show on Comedy Central end up like this? Oh well, I guess I'm older than their target demographic. And a different gender.

I am as big a fan of Futurama as anybody, and the humor was practically the same as the original series.

All of you whiners have just built Futurama up to be something that it's not.  It's a great show - I have all the DVDs and movies... the two new aired episodes fit well with the rest of the show.  Were they tier 1 episodes?  No.  Was I expecting something more for the big rebirth?  Sure.  But these two episodes are still Futurama - which makes them some of the best TV on right now.  For anyone worried about penis jokes, go back and watch some of the earlier episodes.  Anthology of Interest II, Part 1 comes to mind.

To be fair, I've seen only a few episodes of the show. I must have missed the ones like that.

That looks like a nice box set, but I don't have a DVD player.

Do you have any idea if they are on Netflix streaming?

So you confirmed that your disc drive on your computer does not play DVD's?

& No, Netflix is not streaming Futurama.

Not to mention the episode where Lrrr wanted to cut off Fry's wang to use as a aphrodisiac (originally he wanted Fry's nose as he thought that was the human penis, until Bender pointed out where the human penis actually was). Crude humor has been in the show since season 1.

This shouldn't be important to anyone because you should all own all the DVDs, but I just noticed that the full original series (all 4 seasons) and the 4 DVD movies are all available on Netflix Instant Streaming.

Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

What are the names of the three Futurama movies that you watched?  The remaining one is the one you haven't seen yet.

They were, in order, Bender's Big Score, The Beast With A Billion Backs, Bender's Game, and Into the Wild Green Yonder.

New episode was pretty good, although definitely too reliant on current pop culture references. At least they were cleverly done.

Thanks for the heads up. I think that's new, I had just asked about that earlier in the topic. I might have to check some of those out.

Interesting how now Fry, Bender, and the Professor apparently are now basically trillions of years in the future and living with completely different people (if you remember, they traveled so far in the future that time basically started over twice).

Last weeks episode ("Lethal Inspection") had a very touching ending, right up there with "Jurassic Bark" and "Leela's Homeworld", I won't spoil why for those who haven't seen it yet. This season has been great, a real 5th season (not the crap they tried to pull on Fox when they delayed so many episodes that they called it a 5th season, or when they took the 4 movies and split them each into 4 episodes). I wish Fox would reach a deal like they have with Cartoon Network where they air the episodes both on Fox and Comedy Central.
