As a heavy Super Street Fighter 4 player, i gotta be honest... i'm still iffy about this... There is no doubt that Ono and capcom did ALOT of work to make this game accessible and worth the pickup but its kinda hard to get excited about it. it seems like its a straight port + some extra features. I'm ok with straight ports but as long as there's a huge gap in time in between (OCARINA OF TIME!! WHOO HOO!!). but SSF4 is still being HEAVILY played right now (the online on the PS3 version is REALLY slow... almost down to a crawl).

Thank God they kept Ocarina of Time as is... I'd be less inclined to pick it up if they "remixed" it...

Just let james host as much as possible... eventually a second 103 will show up. I just hope Greg can spot it and not edit it so we can hear some unadulterated hatred and cynicism.

TalkBack / Re: Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition Impressions
« on: January 10, 2011, 01:52:27 AM »

Thanks for the impressions, James. I've been curious as to how this is going to work. I play fighting games alot but i can't play them on hand helds. i'm so used to playing them on the stick that it feels awkward playing them on pad/handheld now. Still, i wouldn't mind getting this but i'm still on the fence with this one. i wanna read the review first and see how it compares to SF4 or SSF4... since i enjoy SSF4 immensely.

btw james, do you recall seeing 2 characters by the name of "Yun" and "Yang"? i'm curious if this is the SSF4 build or the SSF4: Arcade Edition.

Awesome game! Finished it this morning. Great story, probably one of the most memorable games i've ever played on the DS.... I'm looking forward to a sequel if they made one.......

BUT I'M UPSET AT THIS GAME!!

This game's controls are so bad that i actually got pissed off and unconsciously tried to break my DS in half... whenever you try to do one move, it either doesn't work or it interprets it as another input for another pin. If i didn't have a screen protector on the touch screen, it would have so much scratches. Excuse me while i replace the screen protector on it........

Can we please hear the story? because it's bound to be one heck of a story when the words "drunk", "walking", and "hungry" (not to mention that this is happening around midnight) are all in the same sentence...

no need for details, make the participants anonymous (like person 1, person 2, person 3 and such), just the story.

Keep up the great work! if it weren't for you guys, I'd've quit video games a long time ago.

I was a big fan of first person shooters during my elementary days. I played the hell out of Doom, Doom 2, and Heretic. If i remember correctly, i didn't start feeling like this until i backtracked to Wolfenstien 3D (i think that was the game). Ever since, i've never been able to play first person shooters without feeling sick. I didn't get accustomed to it because throughout high school to 2nd semester of second-year college, i played very very VERY little video games.

It's a weird phenomenon... i love mario games and enjoying Resident Evil 5 online co-op with a friend of mine, Batman Arkham Asylum is almost borderline (i can feel it but not as worse as MGS4 or MPC).

Mind you, I'm not trying to get you guys to cure me hehehehe

It's not a Banpresto game if it doesn't have mechs and boobies..... I have imported other Banpresto games (Super Robot Wars Z and K) and in all of those games, bouncing breasts attracts much more attention than those kick-ass mechs. This should be a fun game.

TalkBack / Re: REVIEWS: Tatsunoko Vs Capcom : Cross Generation of Heroes
« on: February 11, 2009, 07:43:49 AM »
I have to mention tho, i find it peculiar that Capcom would make a VS game with Tatsunoko. It feels as if they developed this game strictly for Japan. I haven't heard any of these Tatsunoko characters except for tekkaman and i only know him because i play alot of Super Robot Wars. In contrast, the series in the other VS games have some international fame at the very least: X men, King of Fighters, namco, etc.

I think the better description is that it's basically an extension of one's e-penis... =)

hahahaha
oh... so because you can't show the size of your didly in public, you use achievement points as a substitute? gotcha.

i don't know how to do spoiler masking so i'll try to answer as best as i can without giving any spoilers. so here goes:

well, i don't have concrete evidence but i'd bet it is possible to do it even before you beat the sidequests. I think that beating it before the sidequest is a challenge for those hardcore RPG players who bitch and complain about it not being challenging enough. The good thing is that it's linear in that it might be possible to see all endings in one save file. I haven't actually tried it myself because i don't do that. I'm a grinder when it comes to RPGs. But yes i would agree with your first statement.

That was actually pretty hard. I'll get back to you on that as soon as i figure out how to mask spoilers.

actually, no it's not a matter of how high your level is. I've replayed it recently and i know for a fact that completing/ignoring sidequests trigger different endings... only completing all sidequests can you get the "true" ending...

I have no interest in music games, but Miyamoto has pulled fun out of the impossible before. Never underestimate him.

That's true. Unfortunately after watching his "performance" during the conference, i feel that not even divine intervention would save that game... it was like the movie napoleon dynamite: you have to be piss drunk to enjoy that thing... Knowing all that, i still think it's going to sell a million copies because they've marketed the Wii-(insert any type of game here) brand...

i dunno guys.... Wii music seems to be designed for everyone: kids and "overage" gamers... i mean what any other game could be more fun after playing a couple rounds of SMASH brothers shots (you play on 2x damage and take a shot of vodka/tequilla or anything alcoholic every time you get knocked out of the screen, hence the emphasis on the word "smash") ?

Actually, the Bills have a large number of Canadian fans.  In fact, they come to the games in such numbers there was a little talk of moving them a few miles, which would put them in Canada.

i think they are planning to play several games here in Toronto over the next couple of years or something like that.

And also, you can talk about Star Wars or Star Trek all you want without sounding like a total geek as long as you speak english. I say "english" because a co-worker of mine told me horrible stories about people in costumes arguing very loud in a the middle of comic book/sci-fi conventions about "who is the better captain, Picard or Kirk?" in klingon.... yes.... KLINGON.... think about it.
