Title: Safe Words 18: Another Jamie Oliver Cooking Show. Game Over.
Post by: Khushrenada on December 16, 2021, 04:41:15 PM
We all love a gathering together and having a feast. However, while everyone often loves the initial meal, people aren't always so keen on the leftovers. Leftovers can often seem dull and less appetizing and end up sitting in the fridge until we toss ‘em out later. And it’s not just unfinished meals that can go in the bin. Often times, it’s the last few bits in a jar, half a tin of food because a recipe only needed a certain amount, food in the back of the freezer we’ve forgotten about. It can all be leftover, unused and tossed leading to food waste. I want to help you stop that by showing you a brand new collection of recipes that I’ve come up with to help transform your leftover odds and ends into fantastic mouthwatering meals your family will love. I promise you, leftovers won’t be boring again.

Often, people think the flavor is lost if you’re swapping in or adding different ingredients than what a recipe says or by reheating previously cooked food. But that’s not true! These recipes will show you just how good leftovers can be: super-tasty, balanced and stress-free and with the added bonus of saving you money by not getting needlessly tossed away. With these go-to delicious dishes, you will find that leftovers can actually be the best part of a meal.

And to help me demonstrate the beauty of leftovers, I’ve invited a few of my friends along to provide further inspiration on the various ways leftovers can be incorporated into your cooking. This is Jamie’s Leftover Meals.

A quick reiteration of the rules and how the game is played

There is a list of phrases that will be used throughout the game. These are phrases I feel I’ve heard Jamie Oliver say a few times during his various cooking shows. At the start of each round, the player that would be the last to select for that round will secretly select a phrase from the list. That choice will be kept hidden from the remaining players and sent to me via pm. That selected word will then be the bomb word for that round.

After the bomb word is chosen, the remaining players must all choose an option from the list. Every time an option is chosen, it is removed from the list for that round. No two players can select the same word in the same round. If a player does not choose the bomb word from the list when they make their selection then they are safe for that round and move on to the next. If a player selects the bomb word, they are eliminated from the game and the bomb word is removed from the list for the rest of the game.

If none of the remaining players choose the bomb word then the player who selected it to start the round is forced to choose their own bomb word selection and is eliminated. The game is played until there is only one player still left standing and that player is declared the winner.

Order of players chosen

You may have been wondering what the prep round was about in which you were selecting cookbooks. The winner of that prep round was Order.RSS and his reward for winning it was being able to select the order rotation for the players this game. So, if you don’t win then you can all blame him for placing you in the spot leading to your elimination. Did being able to select the rotation give him an advantage? Well, we’ll have to play this game out to see.

Message reminders

I have already sent a pm to all players alerting them to the fact the game has begun when we did the prep round selection. Now that the game is also “officially” on with round 1, I will most likely send out a pm when it is a players turn to choose through the initial rotation to help everyone get back in the rhythm of checking in for Safe Words. After that, it is up to the players to remember to check in on their own unless they notify me to send them a reminder when it is their turn to choose. For example, ShyGuy has asked me that I send him a message on Discord each time it is his turn to select so that he doesn’t forget. I am absolutely willing to do that. Just send me a message or post such a request in this thread and I will make sure you get the alert you ask for.

Waiting for a selection

A generous time of 2 days (48 hours) is given for a player to select a phrase. If they've requested for me to send them a reminder when it is their turn, a message will be sent to alert them of that fact once it is their turn and 24 hours before their time to choose is up. If a choice has not been made by the end of the total 48 period, the player will be automatically given the bomb word choice and removed from the game. The 48 hours begins from the timestamp of the post I make in this thread asking for their selection in the round.

Game on.

I have already contacted TOPHATANT123 who will be making the bomb word selection for Round 1 and have received his choice. This means we can get right into the game.

Order.RSS has given himself the position of being the first to select for Safe Words 18. As such, he can select an option from the following list as I make my Speedy Bread Pudding using leftover breads:

All you lovely people at home
Squeeze the lemon through your hand to catch any pips
Just clank it up any old way
You know that makes sense
And just whack it up the jacksy
Not trying to be chef-y here
Oh ho ho ho! Yes! That’s what I’m talkin’ about!
Just drizzle a little olive oil on top
Who loves a curry?
I’m always burning me nuts
They'll be eating it and saying, "Oh! What is that??"

As an aside, I'll just mention that besides choosing the player rotation for this game, I also presented Order.RSS with a list of 24 phrases that could be used for this game and had him select 11 options to be used for this game. So, what he won from that prep round was.... extra work.  :P

Was it a bad idea to put myself first, instead of last, and getting to pick the Bomb phrase? Sauces are saying "maybe."

But heck, unlike this Oliver fellow I'm Not trying to be chef-y here! Order up!

I'm not doing anything fancy with my cooking. Just tearing up this bread. So, you're safe.

Perhaps Insanolord has something to say to the viewers as we get these bread ready:

All you lovely people at home
Squeeze the lemon through your hand to catch any pips
Just clank it up any old way
You know that makes sense
And just whack it up the jacksy
Oh ho ho ho! Yes! That’s what I’m talkin’ about!
Just drizzle a little olive oil on top
Who loves a curry?
I’m always burning me nuts
They'll be eating it and saying, "Oh! What is that??"

Yeah! Now that's proper (and safe) cooking!

Alright. Now as we put the bread in the casserole dish, let's see what Mop it up has to add:

All you lovely people at home
Squeeze the lemon through your hand to catch any pips
Just clank it up any old way
You know that makes sense
And just whack it up the jacksy
Just drizzle a little olive oil on top
Who loves a curry?
I’m always burning me nuts

Whoa! That was quick! And safe! It's true. It just makes it more homey.

Looks like it is time for Stratos to select so that should give me plenty of time to get this custard ready. I wonder what he'll have to say about that:

All you lovely people at home
Squeeze the lemon through your hand to catch any pips
You know that makes sense
And just whack it up the jacksy
Just drizzle a little olive oil on top

What a nice and safe thought.

That bring us to nickmitch. What does he say as we add the custard to the bread?

Squeeze the lemon through your hand to catch any pips
You know that makes sense

Well, we may have an elimination by inactivity for Round 1. I sent nickmitch a pm back on Saturday it was his turn and sent a message yesterday to him on Discord. He has about 5 hours and 17 minutes and if there is no selection by that 48 hour deadline then I'll have to eliminate him.
Title: Re: Safe Words 18: Another Jamie Oliver Cooking Show. Round 1.
Post by: Khushrenada on December 20, 2021, 04:08:54 PM
Ok. 48 hours has been reached. nickmitch is eliminated by non-selection. That means Stratos will be choosing the bomb word for Round 2.

Meanwhile, stuck in traffic, nickmitch finally hopped out of the cab he was in and started running towards the studio. "I'm late, I'm late," he cried out, "Jamie needs me at the studio now so that I can just drizzle a little olive oil on top!" He pulled out a bottle of olive oil to show the pedestrians on the sidewalk as he tried yelling and explaining himself so that they would get out of his way and know why he was running so fast or bumping into them. Unfortunately, the bottle slipped from his hand and shattered as it clonked him on his head. That blow disoriented him and he stumbled off the sidewalk and into traffic.

The sudden stopping of the vehicle that hit nickmitch was a surprise to the other drivers who were late to react in order to also stop suddenly.

As bad as all these multiple collisions into nickmitch were, he knew he was done for when he saw the semi hauling gas unable to also stop and hit the other vehicles thus causing a massive explosion.

Having covered himself in olive oil by dropping the bottle on his head, nickmitch was roasted to a golden brown with a perfect sear.

Meanwhile, unable to finish the dish, Jamie Oliver tossed the ruined bread pudding in the bin and moved on to the next recipe.

I may have to kill off Stratos for not being around to choose a bomb word. I also sent him notice on Discord yesterday. It's been 24 hours so far.....

I knew things might be slow with the holiday season but.... yikes! Now I'm wondering if this whole game is even going to work. I didn't think it would be that hard to check in for 5 minutes in a day to see if it was your turn and choose something.

I sent it in just now. Apologies, things have been...rough. If they keep up I may just abstain from future games until things settle back down. For some reason I lost the ability to login on mobile so its been a surprising challenge to get down to my PC to get on the site.

Round 2 is now here!

Another great way to use up leftovers is as toppings on a pizza!! I don't know anyone who doesn't love tucking in to a pizza. So, to begin with, I have BeautifulShy with me. What do you have to say as we get started?

All you lovely people at home

Those flavors make me say Oh ho ho ho!  That's what I'm talkin' about!

Right on. Shows just how versatile pizza can be. Now, first things first, we need to start with a crust. Of course, we can make a crust with flour and water and all that. But there are many other ingredients that could be used for a crust and its another way to use up whatever odds and ends you may have about in your kitchen. For instance, tortilla shells!

Help me out on this here MASB:

All you lovely people at home
Squeeze the lemon through your hand to catch any pips
Just clank it up any old way
You know that makes sense
And just whack it up the jacksy
Not trying to be chef-y here

So gud to be with all you fine people! Boss man Khushrenada says he wants my take on pizza. I'll take some alfedo sauce and sprinkle on a ton of mozzarella cheese. For toppings, I'll have tomato, spinach, taters and crawfish. Hope those tortilla shells can hold the weight!

Down in the bayou, we like to cook our pizza indgridents together. So fill a big skillet with your tomato slices, spinach leaves, potato wedges and crawfish. But I almost foregot the mos' important ingrident of all! Red wine! We need it as a stock to cook all those wonderful toppings in. I suggest one nip of red wine for yourself for every three for the skillet. After all, you're the one standin' over a hot stove. You know that makes sense.

Post by: Khushrenada on December 22, 2021, 06:43:29 PM
Ho ho, yes. Being able to treat yourself to a little bit of the wine is a chef's privilege. And pretty safe if you know what you're doing.

However, this recipe is going to differ a bit from the ingredients that he suggested. For instance, sauce! I know tomato is classic for a pizza but it doesn't have to be just that. You can use other things instead.

ShyGuy, why don't you weigh in on this:

All you lovely people at home
Squeeze the lemon through your hand to catch any pips
Just clank it up any old way

"Wait, what?! Whoa! Hold on there, ShyGuy. I love me a curry but putting that on a tortilla shell? That's not going to work," Jamie laughed nervously.

But ShyGuy was undeterred. "Sure it will! In fact, I've gone ahead and made a curry tortilla pizza already. I'll get it from the oven and show you," he replied.

"This I have to see to believe," Jamie said excitedly.

Unfortunately, the result was a disaster for ShyGuy.....

He then began to panic at being on fire and blindly ran out of the studio searching for water. He wasn't looking where he was going and ran into the street right into another oil tanker that just happened to be driving by.

"Well, I may like a curry but clearly not as much as he does," Jamie had to admit over ShyGuy's fatal curry obsession. "Let's move on from pizza....."

Round 3 is now on.

Another way to use up leftovers is with a good old fashioned homemade stew. And I know you might be thinking, "aww, soup? Really? That's kind of boring." But it doesn't have to be! And I'm going to show you a great stew that will be a joy to eat.

Ha ha! Ok. Sounds like he won't be much help here but I guess he'll be safe as houses.

Now, you might think the first thing to do is put a bunch of water in a pot but it isn't. What you want to do is get some meat whether it be left over beef or turkey or lamb, whatever it is you have on hand and about 400 grams worth. And that's what you want to put in your pot first.

Is there anything else you wish to mention as I'm getting the meat, AJBungle?

Well Jamie, as you know I only cook with plant and fungi ingredients. Of course there are tons of great substitutes for animal products. If want a real meaty dish then I recommend using legumes, mushrooms, grains, or nuts depending on the situation. Check out this recipe for Miso-Glazed Tempeh: https://youtu.be/TlC3eGSKLs4 (https://youtu.be/TlC3eGSKLs4). When you make this for omnivores They'll be eating it and saying, "Oh! What is that??"

Ok, sure.... And it's true that if you don't want me for this stew than you can absolutely skip this step and just go straight to the vegetables then you can do that no worries and still have a safe satisfying stew.

After the meat has sort of fried a bit in the bottom of the pot, we'll take it out and add in some olive oil and veg. Now there's a wide variety of veg that we can use here. For now, what I'm going to do is get some onion and fennel.

While I'm doing that, maybe TOPHATANT123 would like to say something. He's only been waiting over a week to finally make a selection here:

It does seem to be a fan favourite right now. Maybe because it has been so safe.

I’m pretty excited about these veggies also. Now take any hard veggies you’ve got like root veg of carrots, turnips, beets or things like cauliflower or celery to add to the pot...

Well, Order.RSS, what will Jamie say now?

Me and my family are also trying to get more veg in our diet and often doing meat free meals three times a week. It's nutritious and safe!

Now that the veg has softened up a bit we can add some herbs or spices. Let's say you've got a couple pinches of oregano in the bottom of a spice jar or a couple of bay leaves or some extra parsley. Now's the chance to take some of those odds and ends and add them to the pot. It's all Kool and the Gang.

What will Jamie say next, Insanolord?

Lol! Now that's thinking smart! Copying my successful moderation skills has paid off becuase it has made you safe for this round!

With the hers chopped up, now we are going to get some tinned tomatoes and add them to the pot and break up the frying. The acid from the tomatoes is also going to help clean the inside of the pot and get all those sticky bits of fond to come loose and mix in with everything.

Alright Mop it up. What do you think is the next thing that Jamie should add here?

That's exactly right.

Take those empty tomato tins and fill them up with water and then add that to the pot as well. The meat that was cooked earlier can also be added back in. Give it all a stir and add a bit of salt and pepper for seasoning.

Alright, Stratos. What phrase will Jamie say now?

The panic that ensued from the food explosion caused some oil to spill on the stove which then burst in flame causing a big kitchen fire.

Stratos was caught up in the fire as he tried to put it out. In the end, the safety team at the studio was able to put it out but Stratos was too badly burned in the fire explosion so he was sent off to the ICU ward at the hospital. In a strange twist of fate, while he was there, one of his meals had lemonade to drink but it was knocked off the tray and fell on him. The lemon on his burned skin caused great pain causing him to freak out and run around in a panic. This set off a whole crazy chain off events that lead to the whole hospital exploding with him in it.

And that's the end of Stratos. Another game and another hospital he has blown up...  :(

This means Mop it up will be selecting the bomb word for Round 4.

Round 4 is now on.

Let's talk salads. Now I'm a bit of a salad man myself and I do really love a good salad. They're so versatile and allow you to be very creative. So first up. Let's talk veg. Now you can use lettuce as a base of course but there's always other things like spinach or endives or arugula or mix and match these things together. Whatever you may have on hand.

What would you say about that, BeautifulShy?

I love salad too.  My go-to one is Iceberg lettuce,  sunflower kernals, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and mandarin
oranges with Catalina dressing.   I hope All you lovely people at home enjoy my take on a salad.  As I say,   "Good food and a warm kitchen are what makes a house a home."

Absolutely. That's just one variation a person could do with a salad. Well done, BeautifulShy.

Now, other veg that could be added. Do you have an extra carrot you don't know what to do with? Half a stick of celery? A few florets of broccoli? Well, get those extra bits and add them in with the lettuce.

What's your take on all this, MASB?

Boss Khushrenada, there's nothing I like better than making a Cajun chicken salad sandwich. Nothing says getting back to tha land like hanging up the chicken whose head you just chopped off! I love them chickens, though I can't say they're the smartest boids around. I once saw a chicken live for 6 months without a head so they don't need a brain!

After the blood drainin' and feather pickin', I poach the chicken meat. I lay a bed of lettuce on the bread. Then spread the chicken on it that I've mixed with red unyawns, mayonnaise, dill pickle relish, fresh ground black pepper and salt!

I get ma pecans from thieve.... I mean, hard-workin' folks who go visit people's pecan trees and gather the nuts! I spread the pecan bits on top of the chicken spread. I gotta be careful though since I’m always burning me nuts. But burnt or not, a nice glass o' red wine makes it a perfect salad. Bon chance!

Oh, I understand. I've got the same issue! But it's worth it when done correctly and safely like you mention.

So, maybe you've got a few peanuts left in the bottom of a bag or a few walnuts left in a tin or there's just a favorite nut you like and have plenty of, well, take 'em and put 'em in a dry pan on medium to low heat to warm them up a bit and toast. They'll add another wonderful element and texture to the salad you're making. Just keep your eye on them!

Luigi Dude! What phrase will Jamie throw in now?

Thanks Luigi Dude. That sounds like a safe idea. And it's true. We're not trying to be fancy here.

I know some of you may be thinking, oh, do I really need to bother with warming up the nuts? But trust me. It makes a big difference in flavor. Try it. I promise you that you're going to love it. We can also make this a warm salad too. We could add some meat to it. Maybe you've got a bit of steak left, or a bit of a chicken breast. It could ham. Well, you can take some of that, chop it up and warm it up in the pan and then add that!

I love salads because of how easy they are to make and how creative we can be with them. Check out my interview with Matt Bennett of Raw Intuition to see how to make the perfect 5-star salad https://youtu.be/E1razNdKvS4 (https://youtu.be/E1razNdKvS4). In the video you will see the importance of raw foods in our diet. Processed and cooked foods are tasty, but they often loose the essential nutrients and enzymes that we need to be healthy and you know that makes sense.

(Someone keeps trying to hijack my show.... )

That looks super tasty alright. (And super safe) Happy days.

I guess I could have mentioned adding something like bacon as well when discussing adding meats but moving on. Maybe you've got a bit of bread lying around. A couple slices of rye bread or the end of a baguette. Perhaps a bit of sourdough. Take that bread and chop it into cubes. Then put it on a pan and into the oven at 180 celsius or 350 farenheit to let it toast up and make your own croutons for the salad.

TOPHATANT123, what line should Jamie throw in now?

That's right. They don't have to be perfectly shaped. In fact, even if you just tear the bread into bite size chunks that would work too. What good advice.

Now let's talk dressing the salad. One of the easiest dressings you can make is taking some olive oil and vinegar which can be red or white and mixing them together. These ingredients are like best mates when it comes to salads.

Perhaps Order.RSS has something he'd like to say and weigh in on with:

In fact, Order.RSS was so excited about salad, he jumped in so that he could start tossing it except he was just a bit too overeager.

Bits of salad went everywhere causing a huge mess in the kitchen. "Sorry! I'll clean it up," Order.RSS assured everyone. Only with wet lettuce leaves everywhere, he ended up sliding all over the kitchen knocking things over.

(https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/fyU60NsQ0l7m8TkYL9B8fFoxW-1TV5wQrx8lURE_oCXswxI-rpE4NUM2Ffw7EWAuTUT527jvEGdDUkJK5EslDowmg9DdBubigNlQsoQXCfB5Zj9wd-efjPmyJA_OB6vz-oZfX3oHbe5vW4ITDzPE7B2_a2ZCy2M9)

This resulted in a bunch of water making contact with the electrical equipment filming the cooking which resulted in a big explosion. All sorts of kitchen equipment and utensils that Order.RSS had knocked over were then blasted into him resulting in significant injury.

And then later the ambulance that took him to the hospital also blew up to give us a good old explosion pic and completely confirm Order.RSS has been blasted out of the game.

This means that TOPHATANT123 will be selecting the next bomb word and that Order.RSS did not find a winning combination for himself when it came to the player rotation and phrase selection.

Round 5 has arrived.

Another great method for using up ingredients is a Rosti. Now, a lot of people aren't too familiar with this potato dish but let's change all that. First things first, whack your oven on to 180 degrees or 350 farenheit then get yourself some potatoes and carrots. It doesn't matter what kind of potatoes. Maris Piper, Yukon Gold, Red Jacket. Whatever you have on hand and three carrots. Again, they can be regular orange or purple or white. Don't be afraid to use the different colors of the rainbow for this.

Let's check in with our favorite number two man, Insanolord, to get his take on this dish:

That's absolutely right. This is a traybake so it's not about trying to be fancy here.

We're just going to take this veg and grate it up in the food processor or you could do it by hand with a box grater. Once our potatoes and carrots are grated you then want to pour it all out into a bowl and get a good big pinch of salt. Add it to the bowl and then with your hands just get in there and mix up that grated veg together giving it some good squeezes with your hand to help drain out some of the excess moisture.

What phrase should be thrown in now, Mop it up?

Yes! That's what I'm talking about! Mop it up is clearly a fan of a good rosti!

So, after about 5 minutes, take a large a bowl and put in a good lug of olive oil and a good pinch of pepper. Then handful by handful, pick up some of the grated veg and give it a good hard squeeze to get rid of the salty liquid that the excess moisture will have created and then add it to the bowl. After all the veg has been added give it all a good toss so it gets coated with the oil and pepper. Then you want to put that veg into a large baking tray that's also been oiled up and then toss it all into the oven.

What do you think about this so far, BeautifulShy?

To be honest I never had Rosti.   Yes it seems similar to hash browns but from research it is different.

That being said I am not very fancy with my hash browns but since this is a bit more refined I would add some parsnip and chives with some sour cream.

Absolutely. Instead of the same old, same old, you can make a rosti and get people excited at the table. I mean, you put this down in front of them and who wouldn't want to tuck in and try it. Happy days.

Now that veg rosti we've got in the oven. Think of that as your base. And on that base, you can put all manner of toppings. For instance, other vegetables. Now, what you might want to do is make a dressing for those vegetables. So, get some dijon mustard, some extra virgin olive oil, a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper in a bowl. Get a lemon and cut it in half and then squeeze a half to add the juice to that bowl. I think I recall someone mentioning to squeeze the juice through your fingers to catch any pips. Then mix it together. Now we can use this dressing for other vegetables we may want to add like peas or spinach or broccoli. If you want to create a salad and use this dressing with it to then put on top you could do that. Whatever suits your fancy.

What do you have to say about that MASB?

Whew-eee! Nothin' like New Year's Eve in the bayou! Mayhaps I partook a bit too much in the red wine drinkin'! Now that I'm all here again, I think the salad is shaping up fine. I'd add a side dish to use the salad dressing on, like Purple Peruvian fingerling potatoes! You can use Ruby Crescent if that's available as well. Jus' cut the bottom of the potatoes so they stand upright. Scoop out the good stuff and cook it with sausage, green unywawns and garlic. Add some creamy brie at the end and pipe it back into the potatoe shells! That's good eatin'!

I think you could even add another salad dressing. A nice hot red pepper sauce to contrast with the citrus Boss Khushrenada has created. Use both and taste the sensations! To make the hot red pepper sauce just use some hot pepper jelly, a roasted red pepper and just a pinch (or two!) of cayenne pepper. Put it in a blender and just clank it up any old way.

That's.. that's great, yeah. I think someone on crew may want to start locking up the wine as we seem to getting off topic on the rosti but thanks for sharing.

So, getting back to the rosti, another thing that we could add that you might not think of at first is eggs. So, get some water and warm it up to a simmer. Add a quick splash of vinegar and then crack in a few eggs to poach them. Once poached, get them out with a slotted spoon and set aside in a warm place. It's best to do this just before bringing the rosti out of the oven so that the eggs are sitting too long and cooling down.

Luigi Dude, what's your take on what we've been doing so far?

Well, duly noted. Let's get Luigi Dude out of the kitchen for the rest of this segment. The rosti will be safe but the general public not so much.....

Anyways, now that we've got the rosti out of the oven, we can add our dressed vegetables and we can add our eggs. If you've got cheese, you could add that now. I like to take some feta and just crumble a bit over the top. Maybe you've got some other types on hand that you could use. Another thing that could be added is meat. Maybe you've got some ground beef or a bit of leftover goose maybe a calf liver. Get that warmed up or cooked to be added.

What meat suggestions do you have to complete the dish, AJBungle?  8) As Round 5 goes the distance, what phrase would you like to add to finish this recipe?

Sorry to keep you waiting Jaime, and Happy New Years to you and your viewers. As we all know this is the time of year for resolutions and many folks might be thinking about losing a few pounds gained over the holidays. I am happy to say that doesn't mean saying no to rosti. While some folks might tell you to cut back on starch to loose weight, with my program you can eat all the potatoes you want and still loose weight. Personally, I like to top mine with a nice Pico de Gallo salsa. Here is one of my favorite potato recipes for all you lovely people at home:

MEXICAN STUFFED POTATO
Ingredients:
2 potatoes (any kind, I prefer large Russet potatoes)
1 x 15 oz. can of salt-free Pinto beans (or 1.5 cups of your favorite beans)
8 oz. frozen corn defrosted (I prefer the fire roasted organic corn)
Pico de Gallo (see below)
Preparation:
Cook potatoes however you normally would (bake, steam, pressure cook,
microwave). Heat up the corn and beans and stuff the potato with them and top
with Pico de Gallo salsa. Add jalapenos and cilantro if desired.
Pico de GalloIngredients:
3 firm Roma tomatoes
1 jalapeno pepper
1 shallot
2 cloves garlic
1 lime
Chopped cilantro, to taste
Preparation:
Cut tomatoes in half, squeeze out extra juice and seeds, and then dice.
Place in a bowl and add the lime juice. Dice the shallots and garlic and
add to the tomatoes. Finely dice the jalapeno, removing the seeds if you
want it to be less hot. Add to the tomatoes. Season with chopped cilantro
and stir.
Chef's Note:
Sometimes, I will add a finely diced red bell pepper

"Whoa! Ok, let's not lose sight of the rosti..." Jamie started to say but AJBungle was not going to be denied sharing the stuffed potato recipe.

"Nonsense," she said, "Look how quick and easy it is to make this." And then she marched into the kitchen set and started taking over to make the recipe. The problem is that she wasn't exactly dressed for kitchen safety and as a result she got her clothes caught on fire as she started getting the stove ready.....

As she tried to put out the fire on herself, she ended up spreading it onto other surfaces as she moved around and soon the whole set was on fire. There was an announcement to flee the set and everyone quickly raced out of the building to escape the flames. Except AJBungle who was trying to play the whole being on fire thing as just a minor little incident. If she could just put out these flames and get back to the stuffed potato recipe then everything would be back on track and she'd be able to salvage her reputation as a chef from this. But the fire had spread to too many areas and surfaces and was growing too fast that it eventually caused the gas line to the over to catch on fire and explode. The explosion was so great that the crew outside had to run for cover when it blasted the refrigerator on set into the air!

After so many explosions and fires, the building for filming Jamie's cooking segments was done for. It was decided to move the filming to Jimmy and Jamie's Cafe at Southend Pier so they loaded up the equipment and went there.

Round 6 is now underway. We've hit the halfway mark.

Let's talk pasta. Pasta is another great way to use up leftovers. In fact, maybe you've got small bits of pasta all over. Like half a cup of macaroni in a box and a few strands of spagetti or fettucine in a box or a couple lasagna noodles. Well, take those odds and ends and just cook 'em up together. I would suggest breaking up the lasagna noodles or the longer noodles in half or two if you are cooking them with smaller noodles so that they can cook more evenly in the same pot. There's nothing wrong with using different pasta types in a dish to use them up. Of course, if you want to make pasta with the same type of noodle then by all means you can do that for this as well.

TOPHATANT123, how do you weigh in on this topic?

Yeah, "safe to say" I think that should help them out....

Now with pasta, you can also incorporate loads of veg. Carrots, peas, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, the list goes on. Just take it and chop it into small bite size pieces. And how you want to cook the veg is also up to you. Fry it, boil it, roast it. What I'm going to do with this dish today is steam it. I'm going to get this veg steaming now so that when the pasta is done then it will be ready as well.

What do you think of the plan so far, Insanolord?

Oh, well that will give it a pong! And yes, nuts are another ingredient that could be added. I guess everyone's just trying to let Insanolord get to the end and hope they are in the Final Round with him to win.

Now, let's talk sauce for the pasta. Again, there's a wide variety of options available. You could go the carbonara route, the alfredo option or olive oil and herbs. But most people associate pasta with tomato sauce so here's a real quick and simple recipe that can be used as a base. Get 2 cloves of garlic, peel them and finely slice them. Then get a nonstick pan and put it on medium heat with a tablespoon of olive oil and add the garlic. We just want it to get lightly golden so keep stirring until you see that color. When the garlic is ready, just get a large tin of plum tomatoes and add that to the pan. Take the tomatoes either in your hand and give them a scrunch or use a wooden spatula to break them up. Then just let that mixture simmer on low and that's it. You can just let it blip away until the pasta is ready.

I see Mop it up is eager to interject something here so let's check in with her and see what she wants to say!

Well, I think it helps give it a nice home-y feel to show it's been cooked with love....

Now, you can add more to this sauce. Want to add some meat? Maybe some extra ground beef or some sausage? Half a chicken breast? Then warm it up and add it in. Are there some herbs you need to use? Throw in some thyme, oregano or basil. Want to add some veg to the sauce then do that as well. You could add the veg we've steamed up or some extra veg like mushrooms and red peppers. You can add some heat with a chili. Feel free to put your own spin on the sauce and use the opportunity to use up some leftovers you may have in your pantry or fridge.

BeautifulShy, are you feeling saucy right now?

For Xmas brought my own pasta to make over to my sisters friends place.

It was Red Lentil pasta, plant based chicken, and plant based bolognese sauce from Sprouts.

It was so good and easy to make.  I was Not trying to be chef-y since it was so easy to put together.

Ah, happy days. That's what's so great about pasta. It doesn't have to be complicated.

Now let's get our veg. Look at the colors, guys!! We'll add that to our serving bowl. Let's drain our pasta but keep some of the starchy cooking water. Just get a cup and dunk that in their first. Now we'll add our drained pasta to the veg. Next comes our beautiful sauce. Then we'll add some of this chicken and sausage we've been frying. Oh ho! Look how grarly some of those bits have got! That's what we want! That's flavor. Now we'll toss it all up together. I'm just going to add a bit of that pasta water to loosen the sauce a bit and make it more silky. Finely, let me grab a few leaves of basil and just sprinkle that over the top. A little dusting of parmesan and some pepper. And we're there. Pasta from leftovers.

Now before I tuck in, let's just see what MASB thinks on the subject:

You know that makes sense

Everythin' looks fine, Boss Khushrenada! Bein' from tha South, you can't go wrong with butter! I'd just put some completely melted butter in a small saucer at the side of each diner's plate so, if they choose, once they've gotten a nice forkful of pasta, chicken and sausage, they can dip it into the butter and just whack it up the jacksy!

For the first time this game, someone selects the phrase ""and just whack it up the jacksy!". You waited until the end of Round 6 to select it....... And that was the correct choice. MASB is safe. Luigi Dude has to take his own bomb word selection of "You know that makes sense" and is knocked out of the game. MASB will be selecting the bomb word for Round 7. I'll edit this post later to add some explosions and stuff but at work right now. Just wanted to give you all the heads up as to the result in the meantime. 5 players left.

Thanks MASB. Well, I guess all that's left to do is eat this pasta. I'm so glad we finally got through a recipe without any incidents. Ha ha ha......

Suddenly, Luigi Dude burst in to the kitchen. "Hold it! That pasta ain't done yet! It needs a few other ingredients!" he cried out. He then took a can of cubed pineapple and poured it over the pasta. He then dumped a special concoction of his called an anchovy milkshake on top because, in his words, you know that makes sense. "And don't forget my BURNT NUTS!!" he shouted at the top of his voice!

"NOOOO!!" cried out everyone on set but it was too late. He'd already stuck his crotch in the dish. However, the anchovy milkshake contained a lot of strong alcohol for whatever reason (although it highly likely it is for story reasons) and the alcohol vapors ended up getting ignited from the nearby gas stove resulting in a sudden fire emergency....

"Ahhhh!!! No!!! Not again!!" he yelled out in panic and began running around the set. Everyone else was kind of thrown off and asking each other what he meant by not again. Eventually, they got back to focusing on the problem at hand and began chasing after Luigi Dude. They finally caught him and everyone did their part to make sure the fire was put out....

After another 10 minutes of stomping out the fire (to make sure it was definitely out  8) ), the cast and crew went back to the set. Luigi Dude was left in extreme pain. He somehow managed to get upright and found that hopping on one foot was about the only way he could move his body so he started taking hops with long pauses down the pier but ended up making a bad jump and losing his balance. He fell over the pier onto a passing motorboat. He landed on top of the driver and knocked him overboard while he ended up wedge in a painful and tight position on the floor under the dashboard and seats. He was pinned in a such a way that he could not move his arms to get free. The motorboat took off wildly across the waters and ended up running into another boat causing a massive explosion.

Let that be a lesson to you all kids out there. Don't play with your food. :smug:

Well, I won't be topping that death this game so it's all downhill from here. Perfect time for Round 7 then!

Now let's talk Stir-Fry. This is another great way to take leftovers from a fridge or in your pantry and make what might seem kind of dull into something exciting! Woo-hoo! Let's do it! First, if you want to use meat, let's get that prepped. Maybe you've got some leftover chicken, some beef, some lamb roast. Whatever it might be, get that meat cut into cubes or stripes at a pretty size. Then take it along with a tablespoon each of olive oil, red wine vinegar and black bean sauce. Mix it all together in a bowl and allow those ingredients to coat the meat.

How do think it's looking so far, TOPHATANT123?

If you don't want meat we can use other sources of protein; cashews, almonds, pistachios. You've got to be careful about keeping these at the right temperature, I'm always burning me nuts.

Absolutely! And just what I was going to suggest next. Good call.

Of course, there's the veg. If you've got broccoli or cauliflower or carrots, whatever it is you may want to add, then get them and cut them into bite size chunks or strips as well and get that ready. Noodles is another thing you may want to add. Maybe you've got some left in a package you want to use up. Maybe it's what we talked about before of odds and ends of different pastas like macaroni or spaghetti. Those can be used for stirfry noodles also. So, get your pasta into some salted boiling water and start cooking it.

Insanolord, what do you want to say to the viewers at home on this matter?

Hahaha! Yes! You don't often think macaroni and stirfry but you can do it. It may not make for posh pictures but it does mean one less trip to the store. One less specific ingredient for cooking.

Now let's get our marinated meat into a hot pan and sizzling away. We want to try and cook it on each side for 3 minutes. As that glaze catches in the pan, it's going to get dark and gnarly and that's what we want. That means flavor. Some of the best bits are those crispy bits that from as the meat darkens in the pan. With our veg, just add that into the boiling water with the noodles for a couple minutes just before the noodles are done. Now that the noodles and veg are ready, remove the meat from the pan and now lift and drag in the noodles and veg from the pot into that pan. It'll be a bit steamy but that's alright. We want some of that water to help protect the noodles and veg as they cook in the pan.

Mop it up, why don't you take the stage as I move this food around?

Well, well, well. The second round in a row to go the distance. One spot left for the Final Four. Who will it be, BeautifulShy or MASB?

Let's get some of those toasted nuts that TOPHATANT123 helped get ready. We're going take half of those in a mortar and pestle to crush up very fine. Then sprinkle those crushed nuts unto the noodles and veg. Add the meat and give it all a good toss. Then get your plates and with some tongs just plate up this stirfry from the pan to the dishes. Sprinkle the rest of the whole nuts on top and drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil. If you've got a lime then cut it in half and give a squeeze of that over top or cut it into wedges and let everyone squeeze on as much as they'd like.

What do you say to this, BeautifulShy?

At the risk of adding too much there doesn't seem to be that many new additions so I am going to base a stir-fry around nuts and chicken with some bell peppers and rice.

Here is my take on this satisfying dish.

I hope this dish is wonderful for everyone and I will hope that it is good for their intestines and just whack it up the jacksy

Jamie started laughing. "I don't think you understand that phrase," he said and then explained that he often used the phrase when putting something like herbs into the body cavity of the chicken. It's sort of like sticking something up the butt. Saying you hope it's good for the intestines and to stick the meal up one's butt is kind of funny. Everyone, including BShy had a sensible chuckle over the mistake.

Suddenly MASB burst onto the set. "That ain't no stirfry!" he cried out, "Not until it has my special Jambalaya all smothered on top!" "Oh no! Here we go again," Jamie muttered to himself. "Let me just warm it up in this oven I set to 900 degrees," MASB continued.

"Then after a minute warming up, just take that jambalaya and just clank it up any old way to add on top of the stirfry," MASB explained. But the oven had different ideas...

Everyone fled the set in panic! MASB ran as fast as he could to jump off the pier and onto his airboat. He sped off in it determined to get back to the bayou for safety as quickly as the boat could take him. Sadly, the flaming pot of jambalaya that had exploded from the oven into the air was now descending for a landing and, in an incredible feat of timing, MASB managed to drive his airboat right into the landing zone of the jambalaya causing a big explosion.

Knocked out from the blast MASB lost control of the airboat which ended up veering around and going back to the South Pier where Jamie's Cafe set was located and blew up the whole set and pier.

"Well, I guess we'll just have to move production to my home studio," Jamie said, saddened at another loss.

Well, folks, welcome to Safe Words 18's FINAL FOUR!! The endgame is upon. My how quickly it happens. Why it only feels like we just started playing this last year and yet here we are. So, who do we have so close to victory and heartache this time? Let's check out the stats!

TOPHATANT123

-This is his 10th game of playing Safe Words
-Number of Games Hosted: 0
-Number of Wins: 2 (Safe Words 9, Safe Words 15)
-Number of Final Four appearances: 6
-Number of times he's picked the Bomb Word this game: 2 (Round 1, Round 5)

Coming into this game, it was a three person race for who would be the ultimate champion for Season 3 of Safe Words. Mr. Bungle had 187 points, MASB had 181 points and TOPHATANT123 had 180 points. Mr. Bungle went out in Round 5 of this game and now MASB has just been eliminated in Round 7. That means that no matter how he finishes, TOPHATANT123 will be the Season 3 champion. And it's fitting since he has just accomplished something only one other player has been able to do up to this point. He has made the Final Four of Safe Words FOUR times in a row! Safe Words 15, 16, 17 and now 18 have had TOPHATANT123 in the Final Four. The only other player to do this was Unclebob who made the Final Four in Safe Words 1, 2, 3, and 4. He's made it to this spot in over half the games he's played.

In the first two games he played (SW7 and SW8), he was the second player to be eliminated. From those humble beginnings, he has become perhaps the most dominant player in the game right now. He's the player who's come closest to winning back-to-back games. When he won Safe Words 15, he made it to the Final Round of Safe Words 16 but lost in that last round. He's still trying to get that third win which would tie him with ShyGuy for most Safe Words wins and further put his stamp on Safe Words records. In season 3, he has placed 2nd (SW16) and 3rd (SW17). In SW15, he placed 1st. Does this mean the trend is pointing towards him finishing 4th this game? By winning SW9 and SW15, he has so far won a game in every season of Safe Words. Will he be able to keep that streak alive by winning this one?

NWR_Insanolord

-This is his 18th game of playing Safe Words
-Number of Games Hosted: 0
-Number of Wins: 0
-Number of Final Four Appearances: 8
-Number of times he's picked the bomb word this game: 0

It's Mr. Futility himself. Ah, Insanolord, what can we say about this player? What started as a joke about making sure he never won a game seems to have become a curse. I've brought up the lowlights before... so you know I'm going to do it again. :evil; The only player to lose in the opening round in back to back games (SW8 and SW9), he's tied with Lucario and Stratos for the most opening round losses at 3. (1 more and he can have that record all to himself again. 8) ) On the flip side of having a lot of poor starts, he's also had a lot of poor finishes to even things out with 0 wins and 4 losses in the four Final Round appearances he has made (SW7, SW14, SW15, SW17) and the only person to lose back to back Safe Words in the Final Round (SW14, SW15).

And yet, while it is easy to pile on him with these incredible records, I think Insanolord has started to become the lovable underdog of Safe Words and might be everyone else's second choice of who they want to see win a game after themselves. Moreover, due to his perseverance in this game, Insanolord has amassed some pretty impressive stats and records compared to most players. I'll admit right now, Insanolord has better stats than I do at playing this game. This is the 8th time he's made it to the Final Four. That ties him with ShyGuy for the most times a player has made it to the Final Four in Safe Words history. I myself have only made it to the Final Four once in the six times I've played. Insanolord did it in his second game when he placed 3rd in SW2. It took me my 5th game to finally get to the Final Four. (So clearly, I'm the real underdog when it comes to these games. ;) ). He may not have won but he's also the first player to have made it to the Final Round 4 times. The best that other players have done is 3 times. That means that half of the time Insanolord gets to the Final Four, he also gets to the Final Round. That's pretty noteworthy.

Will his perseverance finally pay off? Is 18th time the charm? Will he finally break the Safe Words curse and be Champion? He seemed to imply last game that we were going to keep playing Safe Words until he won a game. Does that mean we'll be playing for years to come? Is this good news for other forum users and Insanolord's therapist or are we at the end of Safe Words time on this forum and we don't even know it yet?

Mop it up

-This is her 16th game of playing Safe Words
-Number of Games Hosted: 2
-Number of Wins: 1 (Safe Words 8 )
-Number of Final Four appearances: 6
-Number of times she's picked the Bomb Word this game: 1 (Round 4)

Last game, she was lamenting that she had become the dunce of Safe Words after an early in the game exit. Well, looks like fortunes have changed for her this game. This is Mop it up's first time back in the Final Four since Safe Words 17 and marks her 6th time of making the Final Four overall. While that equals her with the number of times TOPHATANT123 has made the Final Four, TOP has the bonus of having won 2 games to her 1. Will Mop it up be able to negate that this game and finally get her second win in Safe Words? Her sole win came in Safe Words 18 when she triumphed over Stratos (how fitting that the forum stats pair would have to face off against each other in a final) so she seems to be one of the few players to get a win without having the easy advantage of facing Insanolord in the final round. Will this be her time to deny Insanolord a victory in the Final Round? She has only made it to the Final Round twice going 1 - 1 reaching that point in Safe Words 6 and Safe Words 8.

While her stats might not seem as impressive as what TOP and Insano have been able to accomplish so far, Mop it up was the overall champion of Safe Words Season 1. Will the OG Season champion take down the soon-to-be-crowned Season 3 champion and show everyone she's still a big threat in this game? Can she get herself back to the Final Round again after all this time or will it be that everyone falls short due to another underdog in this game.....?

BeautifulShy

-This is her 5th game of playing Safe Words
-Number of Games Hosted: 0
-Number of Wins: 0
-Number of Final Four appearances: 2
-Number of times she's picked the Bomb Word this game: 1 (Round 8 )

Although I mentioned Insanolord possibly being an underdog in these games, he still has some impressive records to his name. Compared to everyone else in the Final Four, the underdog moniker fits BeautifulShy more aptly. She's still a rather new player in this game with this just being her fifth time playing. This marks her second time of being able to make the Final Four. The first time she did it was in Safe Words 16 in which she ended up placing 4th. She lost to MASB, TOPHANTANT123 and Mr. Bungle who have been the dominant players of Season 3. On her return to the Final Four this game, only TOPHATANT123 of that trio also returned to the Final Four in this game. Does that perhaps mean that those three are now on the decline and she may be on the rise? She's now at least matched her best finish in this game so far but I'm sure she'd like to keep going further in this game and possibly set a new personal best at the number one position.

But to do so, she's going to have to overcome some pretty tough competition which has been highlighted in the write-ups of the other three contestants in this Final Four. BeautifulShy has finally taken control of the bomb word for this first time this game thanks to being able to make a tough 50/50 decision in the last round. Will that experience help her if she makes it to the Final Round of this game? While controlling the bomb word at this point is often a good position to be in, has the decision suddenly become a curse? In the last two rounds, the person who chose the bomb word ended up being stuck with their selection as Luigi Dude and then MASB both got eliminated by their own choice. Will the same thing now happen to BeautifulShy? Or will Insanolord have to watch yet another player defy the odds and win the game before he does?

It's time to find out the answers to these questions as we now resume the game and see how it all plays out!

The Bomb Word has been selected and Round 8 is now live. Once again, TOPHATANT123 will be selecting first.

So, another way to use leftovers is eggs. An omelet or quiche is quick and tasty easy way to make a satisfying meal and add in bits of this and that which you might have lying around. What I'm going to do is a frittata. First get an ovenproof frying pan. Then if there is some meat you want to use up or have on hand, add it to the pan now with a little bit of oil to fry it up. Could be sausages, could be some bacon, or something more lean like chicken or fish. It doesn't matter because we aren't trying to do any specific recipe. We're just trying to construct something that tastes good. Make sure to season the meat and if you've got some herbs or spices you'd like to add like maybe some rosemary or some cayenne for heat then add it or sprinkle it on now.

Next I'm going to get some veg but while I'm doing that I'm going to let TOPHATANT123 say a little something about this:

And just whack it up the jacksy
Not trying to be chef-y here
I’m always burning me nuts
They'll be eating it and saying, "Oh! What is that??"

It’s good to know that the F4 traditional write-up is still a highlight for people and something that you enjoy reading because in every game now when we reach it, it can feel like this big unwanted pile of work I now suddenly have on my plate. I start to wonder why I created this monster of having to check over all these past games so thanks for commenting on it. It helps give me a feeling that it was worth it. I agree with Order.RSS that it seemed like the same blend of competitors he listed. And remember, no matter how it turns out, Order.RSS can claim have the victory because he set up the rotation to give that person the road to victory.  ;)

(Love reading these statistics Khush, your dedication to forum games is indefatigable. Hoping to take the crown in style)

I know what you're all thinking, eggs right, are they vegetarian? Well the way I see it, on a farm when a chicken lays an egg, that egg is unfertilised so whatever you do it's not going to hatch. What else would you do? Take the chicken And just whack it up the jacksy?

And with that chicken and egg thought, let's move on to the veg.

Alright, now with the veg, I’m taking some maris piper potatoes and just clanking those up into cubes. I’ve also grabbed a red and green pepper as well as an onion and going to dice these up as well and then put them in the pan to start frying and softening them. I’m also going to take half a chili and finely chop it up and add it for some heat but that’s optional. You can make it as a mild or spicy as you want but you know me. I’m a bit of chili fiend. Season up the veg. Let’s also grab some fresh thyme as well as smoked paprika and add that in with the veg.

Insanolord, what would you like to contribute to this recipe?

Well then you may not want to add nuts to the frittata but that's your call.

I'm just going to slice a few cherry tomatoes and spring onions and add that in. Now, depending on the size of your pan, it will affect the number of eggs you can use or need. With this pan, 8 eggs should do me so I'm just going to crack them up and whip em in a bowl. With that done, I'll pour them into the pan and give everything a quick stir and job's a good 'un. Then it is off into a oven for 25 minutes to let them set and bake.

Mop it up, let's hear from you while the frittata is in the oven:

Well, I was in the midst of writing up a post for Mop it up's elimination as she did select incorrectly when boom! All the power went out. It is out from many miles around me. I may be in the center of it. Currently can hear sirens in all sorts of directions. So, gonna be a little while before I can get this game back on track. Gonna preserve battery power for now.

"Wait, what do you mean not to chef-y? What's chef-y about this?" asked Jamie.

"Well, if it was me, first of all, I wouldn't go about being all fancy and putting it in an oven. In fact, let me get the one I've been making out of this oven and show you," Mop it up explained.

"Instead, I'd put this in the microwave and just let it nuke the thing on high," Mop it up further demonstrated. "Uhhhh, I don't think that's right..." people in film crew started to say but Mop it up just shot down their objections. "Pish posh! That's just chef snobbery which makes people think you can't use the microwave," Mop it up said confidently. Until....

Fire alarms went off and everyone rushed to evacuate set. Unfortuantely, the damage was already done and the microwave exploded..

Mop it up had just gotten in her car and started to drive away when a flaming microwave door slammed into the side of her car where the gas cap was. The flames quickly ignited the gas fumes and the whole vehicle exploded.

Having seen all that unfold, Jamie said, "I think I'll stick with the oven." With the danger over, the crew then returned to clean up the house and set and try once more to hopefully film one segment that didn't end in horrific disaster.

Well, not to hold things up too much, I'll have to do this post later. In the meantime, I've sent Insanolord a message about selecting the next bomb word. We'll just advance the game and I'll have to finish doing this post later.

Alright. Bomb Word has been chosen.

Starting to feel exhausted by all that problems that had been encountered so far, Jamie decided to try and do something simple. "A common thing that happens for many people is spoiled fruit. You buy some fruit but then it just sits on the counter or you forget about it in the back of the fridge and a couple days later you are looking at it and, oh, it's gone bad, better chuck it in the bin. Loads and loads of fruit get tossed out and wasted like that every year. So, here's some helpful advice to counter that. If you know you aren't going to use the fruit right away or it's been a couple days then freeze it. Berries you can just put em in a bag and freeze 'em whole. With bananas or mangoes or other fruit with a skin, you'll want to peel it and possibly chop it up but once peeled just bag 'em and put them in the freezer. Now you've got something you can use when you are ready for it later to make a quick and healthy breakfast or snack."

"I'm just going to get some fruit that I have in my freezer but while I do that maybe BeautifulShy can say a little bit on this subject."

BeautifulShy is up first. She can select from the following:

And just whack it up the jacksy
I’m always burning me nuts
They'll be eating it and saying, "Oh! What is that??"

Lets go with They'll be eating and saying, "Oh! What is that??"

I will post a recipe later even if this is a bomb word.

Red, White and Blue Fruit Granita

Blueberries, StrawBerries and Whip Cream. Sugar, salt, lemon juice.  Let sit for 30 minutes and freeze fruit mix in two seperate pans for 3 hours. Every 30 minutes of that 3 hours you take out the frozen fruit and mix around the fruits.  Then when the 3 hours are up place the blue berries and strawberries in a cup and add the whip cream.

"I like to also take fruit and fry it up. Fried fruit surprised people and also makes them wonder what it is they're eating," BeautifulShy further elaborated on. "In fact, I've got some oil warmed up now so I'll just take some of your frozen fruit and show you how simple it is."

"Whoops. I guess that fruit was quite thawed yet. Let just put this fire out..."

"Oh no! Here we go again," everyone groaned and started running out of the house and makeshift set for safety. Sadly, BeautifulShy's efforts to escape the house fell short when she came upon the stairwell...

She ended up tumbling right into the gun closet knocking over all manner of firearms which started going off. One round ended up going through the main gas line blowing up the house!

And with that, everyone went to the barn to get over the shock of what had happened.

Well, here we are folks. The Final Round. And wouldn't you know it, Insanolord is here again!  >:( This is his FIFTH time to make the Final Round. Are the odds finally in his favor? Or will he lose in the Final Round in back to back games FOR THE SECOND TIME?!  :o  And TOPHATANT123 has returned to the Final Round for the 4th time. He's 2 - 1 and trying to get that third win to tie ShyGuy for the most wins and give himself a win in each season of Safe Words so far. He missed his Chance in Safe Words 16 when he lost to MASB in the Final Round but now he's back in just his second game since that loss. In fact, this Final Round is a rematch of Safe Words 15 when TOPHATANT123 faced off against Insanolord and won marking his second victory. Will another match-up against Insanolord be the secret ingredient for another TOPHATANT123 win?

The topic of Safe Words 15 was also food. It was Fast Food Frenzy. And in the Final Round, Insanolord had control of the Bomb Word with TOPHATANT123 having to make the final choice. And here we are again. Insanolord controls the bomb word for the second time this game equaling the most any player has had control including TOPHATANT123 who also selected it twice and now it will be TOPHATANT123 making the final selection to find the last remaining Safe Word.

Here. We. Go.

As the remaining cast and crew found places to sit or lie down and just collapse from all the disasters they'd been running from, Jamie decided to raid the storeroom of alcohol in the barn. "Here's a tip for using up leftover alcohol," he said sarcasticly, "Just take it and put it all in a big pitcher." That's what he started doing. He began pouring in various bottles of alcohol into a big pitcher, stirred it up, and poured it out into various glasses which he started handing out to everyone in the barn.

He gave a glass to TOPHATANT123 who took it and then decided to say:

And just whack it up the jacksy

I would accuse Khush of scripting these games if I hadn't picked some of the words myself. But here we are yet again.

I've actually wondered about that and if maybe I should have someone else handle the final round if you reach it so that you know I'm not trying to do anything to influence the outcome. Even in a case like this where you have selected the bomb word, there could be the suspicion that maybe I tell the other player what the correct answer is. So, to remove me from the equation might help verify that the results are legit. At the same time, I'd prefer you won a game when I hosted instead of having it happen through a third party handling the Final Round selection so that there wouldn't be the suspicion I might be working against you. There's a lot of conflict for me in seeing Insano win also! I'd prefer that Insanolord and I face off in the Final Round ten times with me winning them all and then Insanolord could win one against someone else later or we just stop playing. That part don't matter. But with all the hosting I've had to do that's probably not going to happen so it may be a dream unfulfilled.

Here's something I wonder. For the other players in this game who may still be following it, if you were Insanolord, which choice would you make the bomb word? PM your selection and we'll see how it would have turned out for you and if Insanolord was thinking the same as you or not.

And while I'm typing up weird occurrences, consider this. The player rotation set-up by Order.RSS resulted in this sequence:

10 - Mr. Bungle
11 - TOPHATANT123
01 - Order.RSS
02 - NWR_insanolord
03 - Mop it up

Look where Order.RSS ended up in the pattern. Right between the two players who ended up in the Final Round. His calculations were so close!! Perhaps if nickmitch hadn't been eliminated from inactivity, it would have adjusted for him to be here. It was the one thing he didn't plan for! Madness!

Exciting, I get to make the final choice, my destiny is in my hands now.

If you have any leftover tomato juice and Tabasco sauce you can transform your cocktail into a Bloody Mary. Let me tell you from experience, you have to handle this with care, what you don't want to do is spill the Tabasco all over your privates. I'm always burning my nuts.

TOPHATANT123 took out the tabasco sauce he was carrying to show everyone what he called the pure essence of flavor.

But he mixed it up with the nitroglycerin he also carried with him and when he mixed it in with the alcohol the result was... explosive!

TOPHATANT123 ended up burning his nuts along with 75% of the rest of him. He ran out of the barn looking to douse the flames.

(https://laughingsquid.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/hot-guy-sets-world-record-for-running-the-fastest-and-farthest-distance-while-on-fire-without-oxygen.gif?w=750)

In a cruel twist of fate, he thought he found a well he could jump into and extinguish the fire. While it was a well, it was not a water well but an old oil well that was no longer being pumped and had its rigging torn down. The explosion was seen for miles around.

That's it. Safe Words is over. You all ruined it. There are no scores to tally. If there were, they might look something like this:

As mentioned in previous Safe Word games, the players are all ranked by the F-Zero GX racing point system based on their position. Based on how the contestants finished in this game of Safe Words 17, these were the points handed out to them for the game:

1. NWR_Insanolord - 100 points
2. TOPHATANT123 - 93 points
3. BeautifulShy - 87 points
4. Mop it up - 81 points
5. MASB - 76 points
6. LuigiDude - 71 points
7. Mr. Bungle - 66 points
8. Order.RSS - 62 points
9. Stratos - 58 points
10. ShyGuy - 54 points
11. nickmitch - 50 points

Host: Khushrenada - 70 points

As previously announced, Season 3 of Safe Words will encompass Safe Words 16, 17, and 18. So, when we combine the totals of last game with this game then here is the current leaderboard for Safe Words Season 3:

Season 3

1. TOPHATANT123 - 273 points (3 games played, 0 games hosted)
2. NWR_insanolord - 259 points (3 games played, 0 games hosted)
3. MASB - 257 points (3 games played, 0 games hosted)
4. Mr. Bungle - 253 points (3 games played, 0 games hosted)
5. BeautifulShy - 239 points (3 games played, 0 games hosted)
6. Order.RSS - 208 points (2 games played, 1 game hosted)
7. Khushrenada - 202 points (1 game played, 2 games hosted)
8. Mop it up - 194 points (3 games played, 0 games hosted)
9. Stratos - 187 points (3 games played, 0 games hosted)
10. nickmitch - 170 points (3 games played, 0 games hosted)
11. Luigi Dude - 121 points (2 games played, 0 games hosted)
12. pokepal148 - 76 points (1 game played, 0 games hosted)
13. lolmonada - 54 points (1 game played, 0 games hosted)
13. ShyGuy - 54 points (1 game played, 0 games hosted)

But none of that matters because this game doesn't count and is going to be deleted from the forums so as to keep them from being tainted forever by this result. I'm banning Order.RSS for his role in picking a rotation and word choices that benefited Insanolord and everyone else is getting big warnings for not doing their part in making sure Insanolord selected a bomb word.

This has been a clear wake-up call for me and everyone else here. We are never playing Safe Words again. (Can you imagine if Insanolord became the first back-to-back Safe Words winner? [insert puke emoji x1000]) I'm definitely never hosting another game of Safe Words again either. No one way I'm putting in that type of work for that kind of result. We should have quit when we were ahead.

As a final bit of wrapping up for this game, here is the message I sent Order.RSS once he won the prep round:

As the winner of the prep round, you now get to do... some work!  ;D ....  >:(

There are two things you get to decide. The first thing is which phrases you want the choices for this game to be. This is the list I have:

Ok, first things first…
Let’s whazz it up!
All you lovely people at home
Squeeze the lemon through your hand to catch any pips
Look at the colors!
Just clank it up any old way
You know that makes sense
Happy days
And just whack it up the jacksy
Not trying to be chef-y here
We want those crispy bits
Oh ho ho ho! Yes! That’s what I’m talkin’ about!
Just drizzle a little olive oil on top
We’ll just add a lovely bit of yogurt
People will go mad for that
It will just be blippin’ away
Who loves a curry?
I’m always burning me nuts
These ingredients are best mates
They'll be eating it and saying, "Oh! What is that??"
Give it a little shakey-shake
Job’s a good’un
That will give it a pong
Oh, my lord!

That's 22 phrases but we only have 11 players. So, half that list has to go. Select the 11 phrases you want to have used in the game. (And if you have an addition or two you'd like to make then you can also make that part of your selection of 11.) Send me the final list. As you may be able to tell, the reason this game is another Jamie Oliver cooking show is because I'm trying to use a bunch of phrases and things he's said over and over in his past shows.

The second task that is assigned to you is deciding the order of players for the game. That includes where you will be positioned. Here is the list of players based on the sign-ups:

Order.RSS
NWR_insanolord
TOPHATANT123
BeautifulShy
nickmitch
Stratos
AJBungle
MASB
ShyGuy
Mop it up
Luigi Dude

Will being able to select the player rotation give you the advantage for getting a Safe Words win? It's a new experiment to find out. Along with the phrases, I'll need the player rotation list from you and then the proper game can commence.

That was what he got to decide from.

Only one player decided to take me up on the suggestion of telling me what they would do in Insanolord's place for the final bomb word and that was Mop it up. She would have selected "And just whack it up the jacksy" so I guess she's right about not being good at those 50/50 choices. Whack it up the jacksy was only selected three times through the whole game yet it ended up being the ultimate Safe Word phrase for the whole game.

TOPHATANT123 is the ultimate winner of Safe Words Season 3! Congratulations to him. Out of a possible 300 points, he took 273. Wow! Heck of a tally. Just left 27 points on the table. Insanolord made up ground and was not too far behind at 259 thanks to the second place finish last game and first place finish this game. Good thing Season 3 was only 3 games long or he may have even been able to overtake the lead and become a Season Champion. An even greater disaster averted!

Alright. Glad to finally finish doing this game. It suddenly got really tough to host over the past few days with things in my life and the attention the endgame needs. Now it's one less thing on my mind. What's that...? I have to host a Mafia game soon.....  oh my god.... [insert Link-holding-head-in-pain emoji]

Thanks Khushrenada for putting on another great game, the theme really shined this time around.

Lots of NWR forum fun as always. Congrats to Insanolord (the curse is broken!) and TOPHATANT. See you all next season. Also, thanks to the host with most (hard to spell name), Khushrenada. This guy kept the game going even during an electrical Blackout! You are an inspiration to us all.

Congrats Insano! It had to flip your way for once. Thanks Chef Khush for cooking up (amidst) a storm.

You'll notice that it was only after Insanolord accused Khushrenada of rigging these games that Insanolord was permitted to win. Coincidence? I think not!
