Well, I'm going to start off first by making an apology to the moderators. The goal of yesterday's "protest" was meant to be a fun little diversion for the other forumgoers. Sort of like how sometimes we'll all start to adopt a similar avatar or something like Lettuce Cat is so last week. Mock me for being behind the times.. I'll talk more about it in the Real Talk thread. However, it was only meant to be an annoyance to the staff. I knew there was a chance that some banning could happen but I thought there might be a post or something in the funhouse first giving a warning to change things back or whatever.
It was not intended to cause other forum goers to rise up and disparage the current forum moderators. I personally like Unclebob and Insanolord and I don't have a problem with the job they are doing. I find them very fair and lenient. So, to see some of the comments and harsh ones at that directed at them is not something I want to be associated with or to have people say for my benefit. I understand where Unclebob is coming from. He came to the forums, saw disruption going everywhere and had no idea how big or widespread it was so acted fast to contain it. He thought he had to act fast and did. If others did this as a way of trying to stick it to the mods because they really do dislike them, that is their business and they can speak there opinions. But it isn't the case for me and again I do apologize for causing such a reaction as it wasn't the reaction I thought would occur.
Stratos - Thanks for the comment. That was more of what I was hoping to accomplish which was a bit of entertainment.
Shyguy, Oblivion - Please tone down the speech. If I was a moderator, I may have very well done the same thing as Unclebob. Frankly, as mentioned before, none of these people are getting payed to do this. The fact that they moderate isn't because of some power trip (at least I hope not) but because they do care about the community and try to foster it within the provided rules. If they didn't like us, bannings would probably happen a whole lot more.
And Oblivion. You posted a thread of felling depressed and alone and people reached out to you with kind words and to show you have support here. And then to come here and belittle the mods is sad to see as I would hope you would be repaying the kindness you have been shown instead. It's like the golden rule. Do to others how you would like to be treated. There's also the saying of catching more flies with honey than vinegar. If you want to sway people over to what you have to say, you are going to have more success doing it in a calm and gentle manner.
However, I do appreciate that you both went to bat for me and the other members who were banned. It's nice to know that you enjoy my prescence on the forums enough to do so. I do thank you for that.
