Title: The new Karma system
Post by: Khushrenada on June 12, 2014, 04:50:06 PM
Just check your tally here:

Khushrenada = +6,105,973,948,593/-0

BlackNMild2k1 = +5,958,201,059/-0

StogiHypoliciously = +598,402/-598,402 locked threads

Stevey = +HAWTNESS/-VEDETTA

Lucariofan99 = +Lucario fan and Khushrenada fan/-posting images correctly

Insanolord = +No more Karma/-Still Insanolord

Plugabugz = +Buttered camels/-Still waiting

Unclebob = +Likes Nintendo?/-Tried to perma-ban Khush, doesn't like Mario games, constantly does his job and sends out warnings, doesn't play Mafia anymore, Extreme Power Mad Forum Tyrant.

Pokepal148 = +2/-oblivious jokes

TJ Spyke = + -5,039,250/ -3,459,812,398,562

Shaymin = +0/-15
Pixalated Pixies = +100 /-0

Everyone else sits at 0/0 having failed to register anything worth being put up on the big board at the moment and because I don't have that much time right now. Whining about being left off will result in smites coming off TJ Spyke's karma score which if it reaches the positives will allow him back on the forums. Your discretion is advised.

If you ask me it's an improvement.

What I should have done is keep the karma system but set it so I was the only one with the power to smite or applaud people.

In all seriousness, which is off-topic in the Funhouse so I apologize ahead of time, I think a system like Facebook or Miiverse where one can just "like" or "yeah" posts would give a more positive vibe to the community and wouldn't tick some users off who tend to get overexcited about being "smote."

I would smite you for being serious in the Funhouse, but I can't now.

At least Khush got my points absolutely correct.

The new Karma system should be a zero-sum game, with the + and - points being set. For example, as someone is allotted a + point for a great post, the person holding the oldest + point (i.e. that one which was allotted longest ago) loses it, and the same goes for - points.

That way the Karma system would be more reflective of the current quality of a given person's posts. We've all made some terrible posts (some more than others), but this system would allow you to improve the quality of your posts and expunge the memory of the bad ones.

Also, this system probably wouldn't work and were the karma system still active I would no doubt have been lit the f*** up for even suggesting it.

Poor TJ Spyke.  Even in forum death, he's a whipping boy.

Poor TJ Spyke.  Even in forum death, he's a whipping boy.

Eh, someone's got to be at the bottom and it was him or some other banned user like Animecyberrat. TJ just has the reputation of getting into more online arguments with others and with him banned, there's less objection with using him as the bottom line. I think grading posts on the scale of Khushrenada - TJ Spyke is actually pretty clever if I do say so myself.

Just added Pixpix to the board for his great AC Mafia post. For that matter, when the game begins, all mafia participants will get positive scores and be added to the big board as a way of thanks for being such positive members of the community. Even Insanolord, despite being, in the words of user benji, an "ignorant community manager" "not fit to fulfil his role". Hail Hydra.

This is what your proposed karma system makes me feel like:

 :Q What I didn't make the list? Maybe because my controversial posts all get deleted?

I'm undecided on if I should be sad or grateful that you have not added me to the New Karma List.
