I will give a flower to my nearest relations daily until they love me enough to get this for me for Christmas.

Oddly enough, I did skim the EULA, and this one did have the class action waiver that most of these things have.  But I've read so many of them that I don't even know if it was in previous versions of the Wii U's EULA.

TalkBack / Re: Our Wind Waker Memories: A Decade of Sailing Above Hyrule
« on: September 19, 2013, 10:30:14 AM »
My bro-in-law hates this game with a passion.  Just proves me right in that my sister coulda done better.  The first time I saw an enemy go up in a cloud of purple smoke, I was in love.  I enjoyed sailing and exploring; my only beef with the game was that it seemed about four dungeons short.  Wind Waker had probably one of the most depressing Zelda endings, but somehow still so full of hope and optimism.  It moves me to this day.

I'm more interested in knowing if the bug was fixed.  I really wanted to play this, on my Wii U, with my far-flung relatives, and I hate having a buggy gaming experience.

TalkBack / Re: Iwata: Price Isn't Why the Wii U Isn't Selling

I don't see how he isn't right.  After those retailers cut the prices themselves, they still didn't move.

At this point, I think it's all a lack of software and brand perception (by which I mean, potential purchasers either have no idea what it is, or they do know what it is and snicker at how it's doing).

I'm a big fan of the series and have played all the Rune Factory games.  Because the Rune Factory games are part RPG, I feel like even if the mechanics only change marginally, the storyline makes it very much worthwhile to play each of them.  Of course there's still repetition (it is a Harvest Moon spin off after all), but I'm okay with that.

It seems like a bit of a pain to me, to have my Animal Crossing game saved in the cloud.  While I have internet at home, the game is on a portable system, and nearly half the time that I'm playing, I'm on the road.  There would be so many times that I want to play but couldn't because there's no wifi.  If they made it optional, I wonder how much it would really get used given those limitations.  I do look forward to going to my sister's town and us working together on flowers, orchards and pathways.  Under the mayor's guidance, of course.

I just played these with the spouse at an archaic arcade in the suburbs of Chicago (on free play) and we had a lot of fun.  I'm eager to get my hands on this at home in a couple of weeks, and hopefully get my sister to play with us from the other side of the country.

It was at midnight my time...so I'll watch the recording instead.   ;D

TalkBack / Re: Yoshi's Epic Garbage
« on: January 27, 2013, 09:00:28 AM »
I just remember thinking that there were some substantial missed opportunities in that trailer.  It felt like a Kirby/Yoshi hybrid, not a Yoshi.  Why weren't the crystals changed to fruits or at least coins?  I'd think fruits would be a better way to fill Yoshi out than eating Shy Guys.  And why no egg projectiles?  But maybe I'm too traditional.  Maybe when they show more of the game I'll feel less indifferent.

I always feel old when TYP talks about the consoles of his past.   :-\

I didn't recognize any of the games, as usual, but I always enjoy listening!

Me and my sister played Game 3 constantly back when it was released.  Unlike TYP, we were just the right age for those types of games when that one came out.  Now back to protecting my lawn from yon hooligans.

And now for something completely different.
  • Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns (3DS version) (82:07)
  • Shepherd's Crossing 2 (78:33)*
  • Radiant Historia (60:57)
  • Ocarina of Time 3D (58:07)
  • Netflix (38:53)
  • Super Mario 3D Land (14:44)
Added number 6 since Netflix isn't a game.  I've had my 3DS since November 2011
* I don't even particularly like this game!  Guess I just can't say no to grinding for sheep.  That, and I'm pretty sure I've fallen asleep and left the 3DS on with this game running all night at least once.

If your eyes were open, the guy in the boo shirt would have had to turn around.

I wonder if this will be like Wind Waker, and this game will settle better in 5 years or so.

For my part, I enjoyed it quite a lot.  I started playing it again just a couple days ago (in anticipation of it's appearance near the top of this list), and I'm enjoying it even more.  I constantly blew myself up the first time I played, throughout the whole game, but this time I'm not struggling at all.  Can't wait to see if Tentalus schools me again.

I think I'll keep my pre-order, but reading the "March 2013 or Later" section is basically the same as reading my Most Wanted list (minus Wii Fit U).  I guess I'll have time for that Xenoblade New Game Plus after all!

I'm also getting confused regarding multi-tasking.  I had the impression that if I was playing a game, I could pause it and go do other things, such as ask friends how to beat the zombie boss, then go back to the game.  Now I'm wondering if it's more 3DS style, where I can pause the game to get to the home menu, but if I want to launch the internet browser, does that turn the game off?

It took me about 148 hours, but I took my time, got lost a lot, and did every side quest I could find.  It's definitely one of my favorite games in the last couple years.  If Xenoblade is just number six, I'm excited to find out what's coming up!

For pointing with the Wiimote, I could never be more than 10 feet away, but for just using the buttons, I could be pretty far away.

Wow...  I, personally, enjoyed Muramasa.  I was always excited to see what food I could buy or make, what swords I could forge, the beauty of the next area.  I also enjoyed the story quite a lot.

Given that the Moffitt Spotpass was my first hit since the Reggie Spotpass, I will understand entirely if Nintendo skips my region.

I hope Miyamoto does a pass to plug Pikmin 3...I want to finish a puzzle.

There are many good Wii games that I didn't hear about until long after the fact, so I'm not going to complain about another way to learn about these games.

The article didn't say anything about online multiplayer.  I obviously wasn't there, but a liveblog from the developer roundtable I watched seemed to tease that it may be online, using Miiverse.  Was the lack of this revealed somewhere else?  Maybe I missed something.  Maybe I'm assuming that Miiverse means online multiplayer would be integrated, while others assume Miiverse means we can just message each other, but not play together.  I really don't know.

Oh, man.  I put that purchases would continue to be tied to the system on my bingo card.  Forget the press conferences; I fail E3.

Other than that...I'm very glad to hear this!  I hope it pans out as smoothly as possible, and I can continue failing at Monster World IV for years to come.
