There's a McDonald's that I go by whenever I go to the gym (2-3 times a week). I've gotten a few streetpasses there in the past, but quite a few times in a row, I'd sit around in there for 5-10 minutes and get nothing.

Another McDonald's I occasionally go to I've gotten a streetpass everytime.

I don't know if Best Buy has a relay station or not, but I seem to get one there quite often.

I've gotten passes pretty consistently from a Barnes & Noble.

I've never gotten a streetpass from an AT&T store, even though both stores I've gone to are on Nintendo's relay list.

Which Nintendo series needs a reboot?

Wii Sports.

Zing!

Just to join the complain train: I think that if a game is out on Wii and Wii U, you should be able to download either version, not be forced to upgrade your "free reward" to the best version for $1.50.

Personally, I'll be saving my coins for future offers.

Ian, I actually feel the opposite as you. I'm sick of Zelda clones that ARE Zelda. In other words, I feel like every Zelda game is still Ocarina of Time, pretty much - same formula, going about things in the same ways.

Therefor, I enjoy the knock-offs more than Zelda. They feel fresher and I don't know always know exactly what to expect from a different series.

Also, I really liked Crystalis (though I agree it doesn't have the polish of a Zelda game).

I wonder how the touch screen stuff will work in the PS3 and 360 versions of the game.

Has anyone had any success with StreetPass relay?

I updated my system and went to Nintendo Zone areas on Nintendo's list with my 3DS closed. I got nothing. Then I had my friend bring his 3DS to the two same zones I went to earlier and he got nothing, so the problem isn't that I was the first one to StreePass those relay stations...

What gives?

Is it just me, or has Luigi been putting on some weight?

Any 2D Metroidvania (Symphony of the Night and onward)... can't put them down until I beat them. Same for Super Metroid and Prime 1, 2, 3.

Civ 5.

Diablo 2 and 3.

Original Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: the Adventures of Link.

I never get sick of Chrono Trigger.

I used to love Tetrinet, now it seems hard to find a server where people still play it.

Resident Evil 4!!!!

I've really enjoyed the free app. This is a day one purchase for me.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: 2013 Platinum and Gold status Choices up.
« on: July 15, 2013, 11:29:28 AM »
I think the two platinum rewards are cool. So, of course, I only made gold status this year.

I already have Zelda DX and Super Mario Land.

Sakura Samurai got gamerankings average score of 71. Meh.

WarioWare DIY got an average score of 79... and I don't feel particularly interested in it.

I don't really want a calendar.

I don't like Smash Bros. but it looks like the best option.

I'm not sold on the flower one yet

To clarify, I bought the bundle. I'm not convinced this will be a fun game.

Also, I could have sworn there was an edit button?

I'm not sold on the flower one yet, but all the others look like they'll be a lot of fun. I'll have to go out and get some streetpasses today.

In Warrior's Way, I wonder if the castle-type you choose has any bearing other than cosmetic.

I know I'm in the minority, but I thought the DS Phat was better than the Lite. I liked how it fit my hands better. I like that the L and R buttons are bigger and slightly angled. Mine also is still 100% functional, although the paint has worn away in some spots from much use. :)

Arganos, I just did the same thing... I'm waiting for the update now. Do you purchase the upgrades directly through StreetPass Plaza app?

142
The most disappointing hardware purchase is the 3DS. I got it for $250 and then they shortly dropped the price $80. Ya, I got some free games out of it, but it was a lot of free games I'd already bought and played a long time ago. Also... the two vertical lines/scratches that have formed from when the system is closed. I'm pretty disappointed that Nintendo didn't see that coming and do something about it. Eventually, there were some pretty fun games released (and certainly more to come), so I'm not disappointed software-wise.

143
I was in the same boat as you guys, but then the 8GB Wii U was on sale at target.com for $240. I figured I'd save money buying the Wii U then and Pikmin 3 later.

144
The first step is acknowledging there's a problem. ;)

I beat the game the other day, playing casually with a friend, occasionally passing the controller. We had a lot of fun. It had good humor and was well thought out.

It's a weird game though, and I could totally get people not liking it.

146
I heard they were really glitchy at launch. Did they patch it so that it works more reliably? (I am in US, so I have no idea.)

Speaking of weird streetpass occurrences, I've had it happen before where someone gets my streetpass, but I don't get theirs. And the next time we streetpassed, theirs said "You have met Nemo 5 times" and mine said "You've met that GameStop employee 4 times." Weird.

I ordered a copy on Amazon.com when I saw it the other day for 29.99. Glad to see it's universal.

2011 Elite Status: Did Not Qualify (50 coins)
2010 Elite Status: Platinum (670 coins)

Woops. I guess I could have not registered some of that stuff and saved it for next year.
