Speaking of first person aiming, has anyone heard of the chance of motion/pointer controlled aiming as in Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword? Analog stick aiming for weapons seems like such a step backward... I'd even take what they did in Ocarina 3D with the gyro aiming over analog stick.

For clarity, according the instructions, you cannot save to an SD card in this version and only 12 images can be saved per user. I imagine (hope!) these limitations will be lifted in the full version as it's an awesome drawing app.

I love it. Just thinking about all the wild designs they'll do reminds me of the crazy cast of F-Zero X and GX, and that's always a good thing!

I loaded it earlier today and think it's pretty cool actually. I don't have cable, but watch a combination of broadcast (antenna) TV and Amazon video. It seems like a nice way to get information about what's on and a way to compile schedules and information about shows I watch. I was surprised it worked with broadcast TV as there was no earlier indication it would (that I saw). I'm excited to use it during the NFL games this weekend to see stats and chat with other Wii U'ers! ;)

Downloaded pretty quick for me (30 minutes maybe?) and installing now (68%)...

Perhaps they get rid of the DVD drive altogether and make it a download only device. I can't see them investing enough in the Wii infrastructure alone to make that happen, but if it was part of the making Wii compatibility more compelling on the Wii U (and for example, offering the Wii back catalog on the Wii U eShop), perhaps this could trickle down into a Wii only download service as well.

EA cares more about its shareholders than its customers these days anyway. Nintendo will do fine without their half-ass ports of half-ass games.

Can't discount the cost of localization, but hopefully being able to release games fully digital will mitigate the risk somewhat.

Just got this last night, really enjoying it so far using my Wii Tatsunoko vs Capcom arcade stick via USB adapter on PS3. Thought about holding out to see if they release a Wii U version, but I couldn't resist. If do release a Wii U version and include Samus or something crazy, I'd probably have to get that one too. ;)

Definitely some goodies on that list, most excited for Nano Assault. Was disappointed that Chasing Aurora is not the sequel to DSiWare Aura Aura Climber, but still looks cool! :)

To be honest, I think it's mostly a Japan thing. Online play isn't nearly as popular/essential in Japan as it is in the western world, so it becomes less of a priority for Nintendo. I do think Nintendoland will do a good job demonstrating the unique capabilities of the Wii U, however it will do little to help Nintendo's image problem with many players (myself not included). The 3rd party games coming out help this (COD, etc), but Nintendo needs to lead the way and show people outside of Japan that the Wii U will blow away ALL players, including skeptical PS3/360 players from the last generation or two.

Absolutely ridiculous and awesome... and I'll definitely get one for Monster Hunter and going back to MGS3 and Resident Evil.

I played the Gamecube and DS games quite a bit for long stretches, but got burnt out on it. It seems like there's this huge potential to make a massively multiplayer Animal Crossing or least a bigger single player world, but they seem content with small, incremental upgrades rather than revolutionizing it. Based on the evolution from the Japanese N64 original to the Wii game, they've played it pretty damn safe with the series and this looks to continue the trend.

After the e3 no show, imported both this and Project Zero 2. Haven't had time to play either yet, but wanted to snag them before they got scarce. Ended up getting both for something like $90 total from Game.co.uk, so if you're Wii is equipped to play PAL games, it's not a bad way to go.

Having not played one of these, on the Wii Call of Duty games, do most people favor the Wii Remote control scheme when playing online? I'd love it if there were cross platform online play and the Wii U players could kick the so-called "hardcore players" butts.

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo President Acknowledges Western Mother 3 Fans
« on: August 17, 2012, 04:38:33 PM »
Would love to play/own Mother 3 legitimately and almost bought the cartridge when visiting Japan a number of years back, which I still regret not doing. I did play through the translated version which in my opinion was lightyears ahead of Earthbound... Incredibly sad/funny/relevant story and very fun and challenging to play. Releasing it here probably wouldn't make Nintendo any money even on the eShop because localization would be costly, but it would generate a lot of good will to their fans.
