I have my doubts about the control scheme, 2D control hold sideways doesn't mix well with first person aiming in action games, for something like super paper mario it was ok, but I don't see how intuitive or easy it would be to clean a room full of enemies. I guess we need videos of this.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but I remember that Nintendo Power Super Metroid comic being fairly good and it was pretty narrative-based.

I remember that, but we are talking here about awesome 80s/90s Nintendo, not this new Nintendo that thinks a badass space hunter would use a ponytail with a red ribbon.

I've extensively criticized the dumb mirroring of Zelda wii, I even made a thread about it four years ago when they revealed the wii trailer.

But those times have come and gone, we now know that TP sucked and moved on.

So, you people are still missing the important thing here Base10 doesn't have a lefty mode, Ouendan has one and is a game that doesn't even need it, for shame Nintendo! I'm going to write a strongly worded letter.

Did you ever finish Metroid Prine

Of course I did.

whatever needs more precision goes to my left hand, pointing at the screen requires far more precision than moving the stick. I'm used to it and wouldn't have it any other way.

Bump for great justice.

So far it has been passable, yes most game characters still hold everything in their right hand, like this silent hill game, metroid games, its ok, wii sports resort has the archery all wrong, but again passable...

BUT, this is simply damn irritating and frustrating, as I fanboy of the art style series, I'm sadly giving 0/10 to base10, a game I would love, if it wasn't for the fact that the stupid thing doesn't have a lefty mode. Yes, the game is unplayable for me and the rest of southpaws, great work nintendo!

I don't understand the rampant boycotting of character development for Samus. This isn't Mario--there's a continuous story here.

The fear is justified because Nintendo and Sakamoto have sucked hugely regarding story and character development. The best thing about Samus as a character is that her story was practically unknown. Everything they have added has tarnished that, and isn't even that original or interesting (revenge because of her dead parents is the most overused plot),  and even her suitless design has gone downhill.

I'm excited/concerned as well about Other M.

I'm playing it and I'm also in love.

What I don't like is that it seems is going to end soon, it sucks  is so short. I hope they get to make an official/spiritual sequel, because there are many great gameplay elements that should be explored more deeply.

2ch or 2chan?

Anyway, with motion+ being centric to the game, I would be pretty pissed if you can't select Link's handedness, whether this rumor is true or not.

So with the "graphics" argument out of the picture, (it was before anyway, there's an assasin's creed for ds and psp), whats left to explain the dumb decisions of third parties regarding wii?

Only Nintendo games sell - proved false.
Only "casual" (whatever the hell that means) sells - proved false again.

... I can't recall any others

I actually finished the game with multiplayer and the game was amazing from beginning to end. It's probably the only game I've played in which a group consisting of a 7 y/o, 13 y/o, 19 y/o and me actually had fun playing together. Usually is me wanting to punch the rest.

I tend to regard teenage Link more as "adult Link".  Link is barely a character anyway.  He's really fully-grown Link.  Any of the annoying personality quirks teenagers have aren't shared by Link.  It isn't like some RPG where the main character is some melodramatic 17 year old who in real life I couldn't stand to be around.

So on that note I'm a fully grown adult.  If I'm supposed to suplant myself into the role of the hero an adult avatar will work better for me than a child one will.  Of course then perhaps children can't relate.  It's not as important because for kids the idea of pretending to be an adult is cool.  Adults don't have to do their homework or clean their room.  They can do whatever they want.  Kids think adults have it made.  The opposite isn't true for adults typically find kids' stuff to be immature and stupid.

Looking at it from that perspective the teenage Link is the ideal middle ground that adults and kids can relate to.  Kids get that "when I'm grown up" fantasy while adults get that nostalgic "I wish I was young again" fantasy.  Even if you don't have fond memories of your teenage years, this is Zelda.  You're not going back to high school and having acne.  It's about having an adventure in a fantasy world.  Well while I'm at it being young and full of energy would make that fantasy all the better.

The great thing about child Link is that any accomplishment feels bigger and more epic than with adult link, but I agree, Link is whatever age you want. The problem I see is the little romantic undertones they have tried, they were subtle and almost non existant in TP but still I felt it was too much, too corny and out of place, Nintendo has never been good with this.

Let's talk how teenager Link sucks and child Link is awesome please, thanks.

It would awesome if Link would go back to be child, there's nothing interesting or compelling about any teenage character at all in any work of fiction. Too bad it isn't happening.

Tell that to all the Twilight and Harry Potter fans.

Exactly my point. Potter kid was watchable, Potter now is the most boring thing ever, and we don't even need to talk about that abomination to literature and cinema that is twilight.

I should have added that only teenagers find teenagers interesting, or at least, tolerable. And even then they hate each other and themselves. Well and there's the creepy old men/women who drool over some of them but thats for another topic :P.

I think Aonuma has said as much, that inmediately after finishing a console Zelda game they start working on the next one.

I'm not worried and I'm hyped, but still I really, really hope they have a lefty option, I don't want to swing swords right-handed at all.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: New Wii Zelda

If Link can't do it left-handed then it is no feat at all.

This is the most important reason.

There is also the fact the game barely needs precision with the bow anyway. The control implementation is mediocre, but to be honest is the best they could do, it is still a GC game and as a wii game it suffers because of it.

After playing wiisports resort I'm excited for the bow and sword mechanics for the next Zelda, specially the bow, because nintendo kind of stole my idea, (holy crap if I was mad at the port back then heh) I probably wasn't aware back then the remote was so limited in its tech and needed other addon.

Funny enough I didn't made the connection to pong until now, I really liked the gameplay and the music I guess.

In lode runner you are supposed to get all the sand/gold/whatever that is while avoiding the little bomberman-like enemies. early stages are simple but later it becomes an extremely complex puzzle, in which you have to be careful what holes to open in the floor to not get stucked. also the bad guys will always follow you in the same pattern so you have to use that to your advantage. Sometimes they become platforms for you to walk over.

Its more a puzzle than anything else, think of something like chip's challenge or sokoban.

I love this game.

This is probably the only game in which I've had as much fun with the single player as with the multiplayer, its quite shocking becuase I never thought this balance  would be possible. A shame it isn't online but I have the feeling it wouldn't work as well wihtout people in the room.

This bit:trip beat game (I'm sure I got the name wrong). The plug for NintendoWorldReport in the add sealed the deal ok not really. The demo was great.. But I need 300+ blocks thats insane!

I'm just surprised Nintendo finally allowed demos in the console, I wished they had the same for the more expensive DSi games. I'm I was also pleasantly surprised that since the internet channel went free they gave me a NES game in replacement, I would have never expected that from Nintendo! I got Lode Runner which is the game pretty much everyone in my family loves.

haha well the update went ok, but now I have no blocks left to get the game I wanted anyway, and I don't have the money for an sd card. I have to wait to the end of the month for the paycheck.
