ROFL! this thread was too funny to read, I didnt read it thoroughly, but it was too similar to the 12 steps, everything from frustration to negation was here, (the conspiracy theories cracked me up XD)

I found out about the SK incident after recently, when I read that Dennis Dyack was going to a Nintendo meeting and the reporter was intrigued, I investigate further and found out they had break up! and that made me feel bad, since I had the chance to buy ED once and didnt (I know 1 game wont make a difference, but I still feel bad)

now SK in the DS.... its quite likely, even Rare is making games for the GBA and probably the DS...

I dont get what the big deal is. Even if Nintendo releases 50 first party titles and there are 50 more from third parties its not like you can buy them all, if this impossible scenario is to happen, Ill probably just buy Mario DS, and most people will actually buy one or two games, we have ten to choose from, thats pretty much enough imo for a launch lineup.

Im not very aware of Advent Children, but I do remember that "FF the spirits within" failed bad, so I dont see how this one would do better. Anyway after watching RE4 on gamecube I doubt there can be any significant improvement in the graphics department for any game, imo its a huge mistake to go "look! our next gen console has better graphics" when the difference will be minimal (but the price difference will most likely be huge XD), I like Nintendo's aproach of innovation above graphics. Sure it will matter for us (people that go to internet game forums and know what "polygon count" means) but the average joe couldnt care less. For example for my dad mario sunshine and mario 64 looks the same, he said "where the hell are the good graphics, you made me spend $250 for this?" and I was like "are you blind?" LOL, then I realized I just spend to much time in the internet, and that he had a point. Games already look really good imo.

heh Ive been tempted to buy an xbox or ps2 for one simple reason, the  games are so cheap! before anything I should explain, I live in Bogota and in my country ( and Im pretty sure all latinamerica is the same) piracy goes around rampant, I havent seen a legal xbox or ps2 game ever. I only own 5 games for my little black cube, and that basically is equals to my mom's salary. Thats the only reason ps2 and xbox succeded here, very few people can afford the console not to mention the games, unless they are filthy rich or insane Nintendo maniacs like me that doesnt care if their families go bankrupt, otherwise Nintendo would still reign supreme around here.

YAY! Anime ^_^, my favorite among all is of course SAINT SEIYA! unfortunatly people from the states received a horrible edited version an thus hate it with their guts T_T its really sad, you missed on hell of a show. As for the recent ones few called my attention, but I like a lot Maria Sama ga Miteru and Monster, Monster is such a great series that everyone should give it a try.

Im tired of the regular animes of samurais swords, although I do like samurai 7.

seems interesting, but believe it or not Im not really exited about online gaming. I remember I played homeworld cataclysm once, it was ok, and I was obviously humilliated seeing my whole fleet reduced to ashes,  its not that why I didnt like it, they thing was that its not great if you are playing with someone anonymous. I also played Hexen II, but by that time both my conection and PC specs were terribly low and I couldnt enjoy it at all. I also tried Diablo II, but ultimately I found it boring, again, for the fact I was playing with someone I didnt know, its imo the same as playing with the computer, only a bit harder.

regarding this, although the complete lack of information certainly make us all go crazy about the possibilities, I prefer to have very very low expectactions ( I learned thats the best choice after certain E3... not the last one of course )

hereticPB your ideas are nice, but I think that the most important thing of the Mario series is its randomness. Its already know how Yamauchi practically laughed at Miyamoto's face when he presented his idea for the game, no wonder, a game about a fat italian plumber who goes to a realm of fungi and dinosaurs with flying turtles to rescue a princess is too weird, but we know now that this worked! I like the fact that there might be some bizarre new thing in the next Mario.

Im not saying that I dont want the old things to return, there are familiar themes that are always welcomed (the rainbow rides, clouds, the shy guys or the haunted house to name a few), but just a rehash of old themes in 3D is not enough, in the N64 era maybe it was, and even then Nintendo introduced new things.

I wouldnt mind a bit of background history about Mario and his friends, but that isnt really necesary, sometimes is better to just speculate about it. For example afaik Luigi and Peach were a couple, not Mario and Peach...

Im not to fond of this idea, I do like japanese animation a lot, and a Zelda anime will certainly be fantastic, and this book they mentioned seems good enough, but I prefer them to focus in games rather than in a market the hardly have any experience with.

I agree with SgtShiversBen, no Mario game has been disappointing to me, they are all hell fun to play, and my greatest gaming memories come from playing mario, the funny thing is I never actually buy mario 64! I rented it and completed it, then I look forward to buy it but I couldnt find it I would be pleased by any Mario game Miyamoto is going to make, I have a blind trust about his talent. (I know, fanboyism to the extreme! if he releases a piece of crap Ill probably like it >_< )

even with the new configuration, it would be hard to use directional buttons with the right hand, since Ive always use them with the left, but hey! you right handed people have always used the arrow buttons with your left hand, so that might not be hard ^_^

Yes! Im left handed ^_^, and so the use of the stylus is a radical factor for me. Reading through the great ideas some of you have about the use of the touchscreen I found one about drawing the element in front of Kirby in a sidescroller game, I thought "cool" and then I pictured myself trying to do it... O_o omg I cant! sidescrollers using the touchscreen would suck for me, since my hand will be covering the character, unless the game developer decides to make it scroll from right to left... that would be kind of unconfortable too O_o! I cant believe I didnt thought about the left handed issue until now!

has Nintendo said anything about how much left-handed compatible the DS will be? I think that having the option of switching the Dpad and the four buttons would be the best solution, but thats up to the developer... or could Nintendo include a way to change it manually for every single game? they should! Im starting to think I wont be able to enjoy the DS T_T

The commercial was good, and by japanese standards I have to say it was great, they have a thing for women acting like little girls (which is really disturbing), so its not rare to find a 30 year old woman hugging a teddy bear too look sexy... I know, japanese people are sometimes creepy O_o!

well... hello, I am teh n00b! ^_^ Ive been around the planetgamecube site for a very, very long time, and recently even more since IGN went with their ugly insider thing. I mainly came here for clips and videos, but a few months ago I started to discover the joy (and hell XD) of forum posting and I decided tonight to join this forums that have proven quite informative for me ^^

Im really looking forward to this, its so nice to be surrounded by Nintendo enthusiasts like me... (ok I admit it!, Im not just an enthusiast, Im a die hard fanboi  >_<!)

oh I have a question, is there any rules for the icon size? I tried to search but I couldnt find it.
