I can't believe no one has asked about how friendly this would be for lefties. Sword seems manageable, but you even play the freaking arp with it in a "realistic" fashion, I'm really afraid I'm not going to be able to enjoy this game if there are a lot of this type of gameplay mechanics.

The Internet is treating My Little Pony like second coming of Jesus.

Yeah what's up with that?

And I see we have an applaud/smite system now, I'm going to check Ian's just for fun...

edit: ok is not nearly as bad as I expected what did you people do to him?

I knew it would be playable, but it will be a subpar experience at the end of the day. From what I've heard there are a lot of items in this game, if some of these are too quirky we would be screwed.

Seems like it would actually be easier to use your left hand -- just pivot on the D-pad, using your right hand as the lever... you could even keep your right hand on the buttons ready to switch again.  When playing right-handed, you have to reposition your whole right hand.
Have you actually tried this? It doesn't work as well at it sounds. The Wiimote ends up being too high in the hand, and I have to slide it down, either through some awkward movement or with my other hand. Flipping it into the right hand puts it into the proper position. However, I did sometimes use my left hand if I charged up before switching to first-person.

I am a crazy lefty zealot, I even have a thread somewhere it's a joke thread don't look for it, and I really never had much problem with the switch to first person, now that you make me think about it I think I just push the remote slightly into my left hand with the right before I do the spin, it's done so quickly and automatic I really never noticed.

I also have no idea how to configure "lefty" controls for that. Unless you mean holding the remote backwards but that would be really weird.

It's impossible to deny that Samus sexual appeal has been gradually increasing, skin tight suit doesn't count as "completely clothed", she might as well be naked, and is being used more and more in the games. Also the zero suit now has freaking heels, which doesn't make a lick of sense in any way. The beauty mark is another dumb thing. In general, Retro had it right until Sakamoto started messing with the character. I second the motion of taking this guy as away from Metroid as possible.

Wasn't that Chozo DNA stuff just added in Other M or something? She was fully human in the other games, minus Fusion which recently infected her with Metroid cells. I don't recall her ever having super-human abilities outside of the suit.

I think first she was infused with Chozo "blood", when dna became popular in sci-fi it was changed.

It was actually my first Immortal album, and I was thinking of getting Sons of Northern Darkness next- do you think that's a good choice?

Northern Darkness is pretty great. But really all albums are awesome. I have to catch up with their discography too, I've listened all but I did it in a hurry.

What do you guys think of Korn and Slipknot?

I actually really liked the first allbum of Korn, but the rest was unbearable for my ears. I have not heard of Slipknot to form an opinion to be honest, I only know it's not popular among the snooty heh.

I really like black metal, I listened to it when I was very young and for some reason left it behind me, now I'm catching up all the things I've missed. However bands like Emperor, Immortal or Satyricon still feel like my childhood music.

That is so strange, just last night I bought At the Heart of Winter by Immortal and Storm of The Light's Bane by Dissection. I am really enjoying both!

Have you tried Forefather?

I'll have to check it out when I get back from work, youtube is blocked. But indeed At the Heart of Winter is an awesome album.

If you can write and draw with your right hand you are not left handed, that's like the basic definition. I mean, great for you, but when you are actually left-handed, using the right hand is practically impossible in many situations except the most basic arm motions. And by basic I mean really basic, those certainly don't include things like sword or gun wielding, much less something like writing.

if the boomerang is anything like frisbee in wiisports resort it will be impossible for left handed players

You had issues throwing the frisbee in wii sports resort, left handed?

I had no problems (besides my general lack of motor skills :P). My point is that  if Aonuma's almost contempt dismissal of the issue becomes true, SS would not have left handed boomerang, only a right handed one, meaning it won't work at all with your left hand, and using the right hand for lefties will be a mess, it won't be as simple as waggle or slashes, that requires certain ammount of precision. As I said, it depends a lot to what extend they are implementing M+ in the game.

How is it "just a cosmetic thing"? The Wii has no way to know which hand you are holding the remote in, and if you swing it with your left hand, the motion will naturally be emulated using Link's right-handed model. What's the problem here?

It's only a visual cue to make people feel "immersed" or whatever. If someone were to make a game about emulating as close as possible professional fencing, you can be sure right handed gameplay could not be emulated with the left hand. As I said it really depends on how deep the combat is, if combat takes into account things like the strength of the slash as well as it's speed, how you are holding the sword (is the edge pointing horizontally or vertically) and things like that, lefties would be screwed.

I guess I had way to high expectation for motion plus, professional fencing might not be as fun as it looks. But the least they could do is give us a mirror mode, I don't know why that would complicated unless the game is full of cutscenes, and we lefties get screwed enough in gaming to have our only character abandoning us too.

That's not true, Iwata specifically said it would be released this year.

To be fair, I played the game more as a lefty and had no issues. Nintendo might not champion it, but you can play it as a lefty.

So it's just a cosmetic thing, which is dissapointing. I, of course, prefer this than the game actually using M+ to its full potential , but rendering unplayable for left handers. Both options are less than ideal though, and it's sad they have broken tradition, if its just a cosmetic thing make people play with Link left-handed. It's not like it matters.

I'm just not that hyped about the game anymore, it certainly won't be a day one purchase, who knows how the other items are going to work, if the boomerang is anything like frisbee in wiisports resort it will be impossible for left handed players.

I am very pleased with it. As someone who dosen't see in 3D, I'm glad to hear that they are offering a way to disable 3D. Sometimes there is a new movie I want to see on opening day but is only availible in 3D for the opening week, (Alice, Toy Story 3) and I have to wait a couple weeks before the 2D version is out, and I am glad this will be accomidating for me :)

By don't see in 3D, you mean you only have one eye? because I know some people have problems with 3D movies, but many times is because of the glasses and other factors, if you have a pair of functional eyes you might be able to see the 3D in the 3DS even if movies don't work for you.

I can't believe people actually expect something like isolation and exploration to be shown in damn E3 floor hands on, specially one that as Jonny says only gives each player 10 minutes of gameplay.

And yeah the decision to keep out the nunchuck seems only like stubbornness, but I don't mind that much and don't see the game near unplayable like some of you do.
The music was obviously not from the game, or am I wrong?

I'm worried about the symmetry, hopefully no game I want uses both the touchscreen and the nub thing, or I'm screwed.

Majora's Mask side-quests were there to get you to interact with the characters, which was Koizumi's goal with the game.

Besides, the game didn't have a long development time span. I think it was almost the same length as Wind Waker.

I think it was even shorter. Which makes the game even more amazing, to put such quality game in such a short time.

Majora's Mask is such a weird game, which is why I appreciate so much, I doubt we'll ever get a game like this, from Nintendo or any other developer.

No, why would I make the truth a joke? I don't see how anybody can say with a straight face that it's a great game. It's not the greatest game of all time, it's not the greatest game of the decade, it's not the greatest Zelda game, it's not even the greatest game of 2000. Just about every thing the game does is done better in the other Zelda games.

I'm confused if this is borderline trolling or not... in what aspects of Majora's Mask, also known as the best game of all time, do you base this odd and contradicting opinion? Side-quests alone make MM superior, what Zelda game does side-quests better?

Since the stupid club nintendo isn't available in south america because Nintendo is retarded or something (god I want those hanafuda cards so badly), I guess I could give it to you, still you are bad person for not buying the game, bad, bad person. I have to think some way for you to pay me this favor :P

I finished it some days ago and I loved that final battle, although it took me a while to figure it out. The flute was a pain I know, but eventually you get the hand of it, I guess it is at least a good simulation of what playing an instrument is, and the game is just showing us how bad we are at it. It is a better game than Phantom Hourglass, but the controls were more responsive in that game, which is very weird. Still, Spirit tracks has an amazing set of items, second only to Majora's Mask's in my opinion.
