Anyone remember if there were music tracks included in any of the previous costume add-ons?

Toad is my favorite one actually released at this point because it carries with it the most interesting gameplay addition.
Yarn Yoshi is my favorite yet to be released for the same reason, but also because it's so damn charming.

I could never unlock most of the golden temple levels, so I don't suspect this addition will cause me to buy the game again

I played the crap out of this game when it came out and hadn't touched it for at least ten years when I played through it again. My muscle memory was great, however, because I ended up finishing 16-0 with no practice. Short, but very fun. Wish it was on eShop instead...

If the game is not for you, it's not for you - I dug it. All I know is I was practically unable to put it down. Plus, on two different occasions, my oldest daughter and I actually watched the entirety of the unlockable Theater Mode.  I thought the third-to-first-person transitions were fluid and done very well, and I feel the extra exploration it offered added to the ambiance. If I hadn't loaned the game to my brother, I would at least be playing some of it again right now. That being said, I still want Metroid Dread before anything using the Other M engine.

I agree that the $299.99 price point is probable and fair, but if E3 is going to be used as a guage to determine MSRP for the Wii U - as seemed to be the case for the 3DS - "negotiations" should begin on the low end from the consumer standpoint.

Dear NWR Staff,

While at E3, please try to refrain from gushing over the Wii U in the presence of Nintendo representatives so as to avoid providing them reason to inflate the MSRP.  Furthermore, strategically dropping comments like "I definitely wouldn't pay more than $199.99" or "Hmmm...I don't know...seems kinda lame..." could also prove helpful in preventing me from being turned into another Ambassador donkey because - let's face it - I'll probably be there day one.

Regards,

Rob

The loading screens started to drive me crazy after a while.  Also, having to call the blob three times to get him into balloon form quickly becomes tedious at certain points in the game.  I suppose I'm just being nit-picky now...

The bonus levels provide ample opportunity for increased difficulty, especially later on.  As Neal likes to put it, I "100 percented" this game not too long after it came out, but I still remember struggling through some of the harder levels - specifically while navigating the rocket.  In the end, I felt that there was a very satisfying blend of puzzling, platforming, and challenge.

Hmmm...interest seems to be waning...wondering what Disney aficionado Mike Sklens thinks of this game overall...

I suppose I contributed to this - as one of the few customers of these tablets to begin with (got one for my five-year-old daughter for Christmas), I opted for Ubisoft's Drawsome instead of THQ's uDraw....oh well...

Unless it was a coincidence, game three came from my suggestion.  I was surprised to hear it because I just requested it sometime in the last few weeks - compared to other suggestions TYP has admitted to being years old, I wasn't holding my breath to hear it anytime soon.  I was a bit leery to suggest it at all because I didn't consciously remember any of the tunes and therefore didn't know if the music was actually any good - I just remember enjoying the game a lot and suspected the music must have had something to do with it and wanted to hear it again.  Very happy that the music ended up being great, and the old neurons were definitely firing on all cylinders as those memories were reborn.  Sorry it didn't strike up a great deal of discussion, but overall I was very pleased.  Thanks and nice work on the song selections, TYP!

I am guessing since we haven't heard Greg talk about Cave Story 3D on RFN yet that he opted for the downloadable version.  I am also guessing that he will not find this delay pleasing.

In addition to the twenty free games, hopefully we Ambassadors will further mitigate our losses by benefiting from an otherwise lower Wii U price than we would have seen if 3DS sales hadn't tanked early on.

My first Wario Land game was Shake It.  After playing a bit of Wario Land 4, I was surprised by how similar the two were.  Do prior games in the series follow the same formula as well?

« on: December 22, 2011, 05:39:23 PM »
In December of 2007 my mom wanted me to tell her what I wanted for Christmas.  To make things easier, she gave me her credit card information and said to just get it myself so I ordered a replica of Glamdring (from LOTR lore) by Noble Collection from Skymall Magazine only to receive a notice a week or two later telling me it was on backorder and they didn't know when I should expect delivery.  Between the time I ordered it and the time I received the backorder notice, I played the Wii for the first time ever.  I was hooked.  I didn't have to contemplate long on the decision to cancel my Skymall order and get a Wii instead.  Although this was during the pinnacle of the Wii supply constraint, and I had to call retailers multiple times daily, I finally received a tip from a local Gamestop employee that I "should probably check back tomorrow morning." The next day I confirmed that some Wii consoles had in fact arrived so I called my wife and said she needed to make her daily work-related bank run NOW with an important pitstop at Gamestop FIRST!  I didn't secure the Wii until almost the end of January 2008; and yes, my story is diminished by the fact that Gamestop got my money - but when your back is up against the wall, you do what you gotta do.  Besides, Gamestop tipped me off so I suppose they earned the sale.  I never ended up with Glamdring, but a Wii has been far more satisfying.  Easily the best gaming-related decision I ever made and all thanks to Mom and Christmas!
