yeah there is a remake of day of the dead which is terrible and a sort of "sequel" called Day of the Dead 2 contagium..neither are good..but the remake is a lot better than the shitty sequel.

the deal is romero sold the rights to his movies for money(not the wisest thing to do...i would argue Romero is a terrbile business man) so that he could make more stuff.

G.I. Joe - 7.9/10

This is a great summer popcorn action flick. There are of course a few things you need to overlook* to not ruin your enjoyment of the movie, but I honestly can't wait to see how they follow it up with a sequel. Marlon Wayans had a few funny lines and 3rd Rock from the sun guy did a really good job at his character too.

*There is scene where the Baroness shoots down an over hanging platform so she can slide down tot the bottom floor. When they switch camera angles, the platform she just slid down and is walking away from are now stairs. Also Baroness and Duke have a love story, if it weren't for that both idiots wouldn't have seemed like such liabilities throughout the entire movie. I wanted to slap some sense into Joe for being so distracted during his world saving mission. and I could go on, but most of it was so minor that I don't even really remember most of it right now anyway.

yeah gi joe was a strange bad movie in that it wasn't that bad, but it wasn't terrible in a Transformers 2 way. At least I cared about the characters. It had some ridiculously stupid parts, but they could easily be overlooked. I could probably watch the movie again a few times. Actually, it really seemed like a sequel would be a really good movie.

The Room - :(

I can't really say I've seen it as I was only able to sit through about 20 minutes of it before I had to turn it off. I only knew about the movie because some people on another forum were sorta praising it and then [Adult Swim] actually aired it one time one night only but I missed it. The acting is horrible, the sound is horrible, the script is horrible, the visual quality looks like it's a Hallmark channel movie and the actors are not all that attractive. It's basically a soft-core porno (how was it aired on adult swim?) without any sexyness attached. The guy who stars in this movie Tomy Wiseau wrote and directed himself, and I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he also financed it. Do not waste your time on this movie. It's listed as comedy, but there was not one thing funny about it. It was so bad it was just bad.

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story   8/10

i dunno why i didn't like this movie much when i first saw it, maybe it was because I saw it before Walk the Line and Ray so the bio-pic parodies weren't as evident as they couldve been but geez is this movie funny now. there's just so much outlandish **** going on its hard to believe theres even an actual story in there. The Beatles scene was probably one of the funniest things i've ever seen. Aside from Jack Black looking a little too chubby to portray Paul McCartney, the rest of the cameos as the beatles looked perfect. Also jack white of the white stripes as Elvis was hilarious. Some of the best cameos ever are in this movie.

Hot Fuzz  10/10

Don't know why it took me this long to buy the dvd but this movie is even better the second time around.

aside from being incredibly funny, and having some sweet action...

the casting is top notch.

BLACK DYNAMITE

Best movie ever?/10

Man, this movie is too epic!

EDIT: I don't think I have to say any more but here is one of my favorite lines from the movie:

*Interrupts girl talking* See here, mama. Now you can hit the sheets or the streets, it don't make me no nevermind. Now that's your bag baby, so you can go or you can come. Can you dig it?

I'm definitely using that some time.

Precious 10/10

Its about a 16 or 17 year old black girl living in Harlem in 1987. She has a really hard life and it's just the kind of life better off people may not even realize can exist.

Some parts were really really intense. Can't imagine that this type of movie would be anyones cup of tea here. But I think the girls could really get into it. Except for the extremely horrible things I couldn't help but see some of my life in this movie. Just a tiny tiny bit, I had a great life so far. I can't really pin point it, but somethings were just way to familiar. Made me cry a couple of times, and pretty funny as well. The audience I saw it with gasped, shouted, laughed,  cried and just went on an emotional roller coaster.

Just wish there was a little more closure at the end.

I'll admit, at the time this came out either nothing else out interested me or i'd seen everything good at the time, so i was interested in this one. Figured it might be decent for a pg13 movie. Well we couldn't head out to the theatres that friday (our one definaate date night) and when my gf and I tried to go back the following week, they weren't even showing it. Guess it really was just that shitty.

As for your comments on Walk Hard: AGREED! I'm actually putting the soundtrack on my ipod as we speak, but before i started syncing it i put on their cover of "thats amore" and almost pissed my pants.

Ong Bak 2

This movie makes no sense whatsoever. It doesn't even end well either. In fact, any scene that didn't involve fighting was merely a waste of time.

That said, Ong Bak 2 has froth worthy fight scenes that made me rewind the movie more than a few times. Tony Jaa is the ****. Hands down, the ****. Seeing him do even more crazy **** at a break neck speed makes all the nonsensical story beats and characters irrelevant.

See this movie if you love seeing motherfuckers get kneed in the face, kicked in the chest, and thrown off buildings. Oh and there's one scene where he does a back-flip off an elephants face and knees a dude right on the crown of his head.

As a martial arts movie, it deserves a 10/10
As a movie-movie, 6/10

He also has a deviated septum or something and a giant beak for a nose and is just NOT LIKABLE.

Also, much has been made of Hayden Panettiere's side-boob scene. Trust me on this: I have bigger boobs than she does. It is nothing special. In fact, it was sort of detrimental to my opinion of her hottness.

Spartan (2004)

Val Kilmer? Kristen Bell when she was an unknown? I am in! Actually this is a pretty good movie and it is ruthless. In a lot of ways it's like the recent movie Taken, but there is nothing happy about it. Solid.

8/10

Rising Sun (1993)

Connery and Snipes? Hell yeah. Not a bad movie but hasn't aged well primary due to some of the plot points being heavily reliant on technology which in 1993 would have been cutting edge, but photoshop weekends/weekdays now. Not much action, but most of the dialogue is top notch and Connery really puts his best foot forward and sells the movie.

7/10

There are a lot better people to think about stalking than a cheerleader in a one season hit show. Like say Cobie Smulders from How I met your Mother as Robin.

Actually, if you really do have bigger tits than she does you should get them looked at. Unless you work out and have hypnotic chest muscles, in that case, carry on.

2012: 10/10

(Really an 8/10)
+2 Points for showing the NSMBW ad before the previews. it was my first time seeing the ad and it was epicly epic on the big screen.

Actually, make that a 7/10.

Definately a popcorn movie, some great action/destruction sequences and one of the few movies that had me on the edge of my seat. Not because of suspense, but because the sequences (mainly the escape from pasedena had SO much **** going on that I couldnt help but lean in and keep my eyes from blinking so i didn't miss a damn thing.
What docks it a single point from my original non-jokey score is that even for a disaster movie where you know the protagonist are going to survive.. theres just TOO much insane **** going on that its hard to suspend belief before so long before thinking "oh come on they shoulda been dead by now!" lol

Up - Not as gripping as I had hoped(8/10)

I'm not gonna explain. It was good, but not Nemo or Wall-E good.

Zerophilia - 7.5/10

This was a very entertaining movie about someone that is not like the rest of us. they have a very rare condition (Zerophilia) and they have to come to terms with it and it's possibly permanent side effect. Think Ranma 1/2 but for reals. The ending was a little predictable, but it was all good up until that point.

I think this sums it up pretty nicely
Quote
A young man who remains decidedly insecure about his masculinity attempts to uncover the mystery of his rare genetic disorder before it transforms him into a female in a sci fi flavored romantic comedy directed by Martin Curland and inspired by the studies of renowned Neuromorphologists Professor Czierny Ptolemy and Eva Szantova. Slowly immersed in a world where some change gender at will and others seem to make the transformation despite how hard they try not to, Luke (Taylor Handley) is forced to abandon all of his assumptions on sexual identity to focus on the one person he truly loves. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

discovered it last nite looking for a random movie to watch on Netflix. It was on the first page, top center. A good watch.

One of my favorite comedies. JLH is at her hottest, and Sigorney Weaver does a perfect Russian broken-english accent. I love Gene Hackman, too, he's so over-the-top.
