I also got to 241 stars in 2010 and just got pissed off at the no checkpoint 1 hit kill last star.  I ended up watching my girlfriend play Super Mario Galaxy a few months ago and got the itch to finish what I started.  It took many tries, but I got that 242 star.

This has got to be the hardest level ever created for a Mario game.  Half the battle is just the fear of the one hit to failure.  If you put it out of mind and play normally, you'll probably find that your chances for success will increase.

Radiant Historia
I can see why some people are over the moon about this game, but I just grew tired of all the text.  Weird because I beat Golden Sun 1 and 2 way back when.

Zelda II: Adventure of Link
Got to the final sequence and died after that brutal final dungeon... never ever going to want to pick that up again.  Just too much pain

Mario RPG
Love the game, played it at a pals house originally on SNES and again on Wii... never did get to the end though.

Metroid Prime 2
Because the ending was ridiculous and I hated it...

The whole Zelda discussion was very interesting,  one thing I'm finding is that there was apparently many ways to defeat certain enemies.  I had no idea some enemies were afraid of the shiny shield...

I've gotta say, whoever the guy was who didn't learn how to fly properly (and missed many other things) must just hate text and just mashed his way through tutorials.

The map branch is screwed up, sector x branches to sector z, macbeth or titania... and you can't get to titania from macbeth or vice versa.... also i'm a geek for pointing this out, it's probably a map from 1997

I've always thought it was one of the best games of the n64 playstation era.  I put only Ocarina of Time on a higher pedestal, I must've beaten Star Fox 64 close to 1000 times when I was a kid... ahhh fond memories.
