The "Wii-exclusive" is coming to 360 and PS3, and it might be a retail release.

As you might already know, NBA Jam, the purported Wii-exclusive reboot of the popular series, was supposed to be coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as a downloadable bonus for people who bought NBA Elite 11 for either system.

There's an update now. NBA Elite 11 is being delayed, and NBA Jam is coming to 360 and PS3 later this year, according to Peter Moore's blog. Even worse, Moore's wordage alludes to the possibility of the game being a retail release.

"In addition to the Wii version, we’re going to ship NBA JAM as a standalone product on the Xbox360 and PS3 in time for the holidays. Watch for more news soon on the exact timing of that release," Moore said.

Why Storytelling Matters in Video Game PlotsWii

Pedro looks back at Arc Rise Fantasia and wonders what exactly went wrong with its story.

As you may have recently learned through my review, Arc Rise Fantasia has a terrible story. But what ruins it isn't the characters or the plot itself. In fact, despite many clichés common in the genre, I actually wanted to learn more about the characters and see the story through to its completion. It was how it was TOLD that truly killed any enjoyment I had with it. While Virtual Console was on life support even then, WiiWare and DSiWare churned out a steady stream of quality titles. Hell, I even organized two features on the good games on both services.

Now I'd be remiss to not point out that there is also a lot of crap on Nintendo's download platforms, but there would usually be at least one interesting or knock-out title each week between the two platforms a week. To me, that was enough.

Reactions From The Guitar Hero/James Bond Press EventWii

Watch as Neal dodges actually talking about games due to embargoes!

If you've followed the site or the game industry for a while, you might know that occasionally there are bombastic and over-the-top press events. Activision usually hosts these, but other companies are also known to hold them as well.

Activision's latest shindig involved Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, GoldenEye 007, and Blood Stone. Held in San Francisco at the DNA Lounge, the event featured a ground floor packed with Guitar Hero setups, and a second level with plenty of GoldenEye and Blood Stone representation.

Lost in Shadow, a Wii-exclusive puzzle/platformer from Hudson Soft, is looking like one of the coolest games coming out soon. Now you can show your interest by "liking" the game's fan page on Facebook... and for each person who does, Hudson will donate ten cents to Child's Play Charity. Doesn't sound like much, but with over 1,000 fans already active, it means hundreds of dollars are already on the table. There's also a contest for anyone who likes the page and changes their profile picture to something with a lot of shadows in it... check out the link for details, and be sure to like the page while you're there to help a great charity!
